It takes time to train and select a green beret. Now imagine we need more green beret because of a war with china. How fast can you teach them ? I is taking roughly two year ( i think) in peacetime. You cannot wait 2 years so you will have to shorten their formation and thus, shorten their capacity and knowledge in special operations.
If an emergency occurs, SOF cannot be created quickly enough to respond, you need to create, train and refine this "tool" BEFORE any emergency. Like a swiss knife, you don't buy it when dropped in nature, 'cause you can't, you buy it before in case that happen.

So what im taking from this video is that 19th-20th group is the way to go. Just went to SFAS in January but dealt with an injury that resulted in getting dropped. Looking to go back ASAP. Only problem is I absolutely HATE my duty station and my unit. Not the people, but the day to day. Ive never been more bored in my life. Id rather work a desk job than sit in the back of the COF and wait to do details. If i want to go back to Selection ill have to re-up and I cant even imagine being stuck in a conventional unit again if something were to happen again at Selection. So NG SF seems the best way to go, hands down.

I went to college at 18 for mechanical engineering. In my opinion, that’s too young for college. You are too busy living and exploring at that age to actually focus and apply yourself. It’s nice for the girls and freedom but that’s about it. If you do well in college at that age it usually comes at a cost, depending on your degree. I’m not sure there is a wrong path, but I would recommend others to get your shit together on your own before you make a large investment like college, where you can either get a lot out of it, or nothing. Military is a great option to do that, and potentially a career.

No, 25 is your peak physical performance age.

Love your channel bro. I’ve noticed that special forces guys don’t focus much on the swimming required for to make it through, specially dive school and the difficulty of it and how to best prepare.
Would you more likely to advise someone that isn’t much of a swimmer to go SF instead of special operations branches? I think the swimming is what scares most away.

If you’re not on a dive or maritime team then there’s really no swimming involved. There used to be a 50m swim test as SFAS, at least there was when I went though. I’ve heard that may have gone away though, can’t confirm that though.
