I have ypu to thank for introducing me to the manny command hook products that aren't just hooks. I have the cord manager things holding up my cords off the floor and my new vacuum doesn't have a nice place to wrap the cord so I'll add one there as we. Plus little bins and even small shelves from the in my bathroom have made it so much easier to organize and I love how easy they are to install. Plus because I can move them if I change my mind I don't have to debate for weeks exactly the perfect height and frustrate myself I just put then up and if I want it an inch lower I can move it. So you have my sincere fangirl gratitude for showing me the magic of all things Command 😊
I LOVE my Elfa door racks. I bought one several years ago as a renter and now have 4 in my tiny bungalow that has tiny closets, but thankfully doors that swing out rather than bifold doors. They hold a ton of stuff and have added much-needed storage space.
You mentioned the environment with the stacher bags BUT you forgot the Water Hyacinth bins! They're made from a natural material, and a little bit of metal (/wood) for the frame. Metal can be recycled and re-used more times than plastic! Natural material bins are a great alternative to plastic! *AND* if you have a commercial/industrial composting program, if the bin ever falls apart you can compost the plant material and recycle the metal!!

Like it bricks are my absolute favorite drawer organizer. The more you work at TCS the more you want things to fit perfectly. The like it bins are squared bottom, where other organizers are tapered at the bottom. It ends up creating dead space which I hate. Oh, there is a sale going on for elfa right now for 25% off so it's a great time to get stuff! But please please PLEASE talk to a designer and make an appointment to talk to them so you can have dedicated time to design your space!
The Like It Bins are amazing. I wish they were just a bit less expensive, but they are just the thing for certain items. The small Penzey’s spice jars fit in them nicely and you can stack spices and herbs.

Believe it or not all kinds of things. I have eve filled the standup ones with liquid/broth. They are very useful they clean up pretty well. I’ve used all the sizes. The smallest smallest ones are awesome for little snacks (or dog treats)
I'm at The Container Store so much, they gave me a "Join Our Team" card. I moved a while ago from the shoe boxes to the plastic shoe display where one is stored on top in an opposite direction. Less space tan the box. Also sold at TCS. very informative video.

My Elfa is the best thing that I ever purchased and the over the door rack for added shoe storage is amazing....but I was so upset about the reisenthel fabric boxes too. I miss them! My other favorite item is the multi purpose bin. I use it in my office, pantry, fridge, garage, for pool supplies....I just placed a large order... and I miss my discount too..

Yes, yes and yes! I'm redoing my laundry area with Elfa this weekend. It's super easy to install if you can use a drill. The Elfa sale is going on now but I'm not sure when it ends.

I am about to move in with roommates after living alone for 5 years. I would really appreciate if you had any tips or storage suggestions for when it comes to having roommates. I know it’s definitely different from jst living with family because obviously things are more separated
Communication is going to be your most important tool here. When I had roommates, the house meetings were definitely where we discussed whose stuff was whose etc.
I agree with getting help designing Elfa spaces. Did it in 2008 for our happy room (computer/office/craft/sewing/games ) got the basic white shelving and love it I have one door rack and would have more if we had the doors and walls with spacs for them
Did you also get the uniform spice containers at TCS? I love the look. We have so many spices. I bet it’ll be an investment to buy all those spice bottles.

I'm one of those people who has their shoes in their original shoe boxes and believe it or not I know what each box contains, even though they are not clear. I just never liked the look of those clear plastic shoe boxes. I do however like the look of the container store linen shoe boxes with the pull down fronts and I have bought a few and will probably buy more as I can afford them. They are classier looking than clear plastic
