- This is the NEW PD Racing 'Minitron' a 1/16 Mini RC Car Basher. Tough, cheap.. but is it as good as the MJX Hyper Go or the Arrma Gorgon? A decent cheap RC Car for Christmas. Truck version looks like a mini Arrma Big Rock!

Pretty good deal for the money but it seems to be lacking in just about everything but the chassis durability. Some nice beefy parts there. With all that chassis slapping, it definitely needs a suspension upgrade. I also think it may need an electronics upgrade in the future so you can see just how durable the chassis is! This thing deserves to go fast! It would be cool to get it to comparable performance of the HBX 16889A Pro and see if you can do it for less $$ (including a servo upgrade). 3:35 "grease in there" now that's an interesting idea. Instead of oil in the shocks to mitigate the springs, just a glob of thick grease. Think about it: the viscosity of the shaft pushing through the grease would provide enough resistance AND it's so thick it wouldn't tend to leak out like oil. Maybe take one of your friction dampers (tamiya) and put a glob of vaseline or ? inside.....hmmm I might try that with one of my minicrawlers......
I’ve done it on my scx24s. A little glob of shock grease in the top of the shock with the tip of a screwdriver and cycle it a few times.
Actually made a difference.
I’m gonna try that on my tracer. Can’t hurt can it. 👌🏻

Not bad for what it is. Personally, I'm trying to move to all 1/10 scale and reduce the amount of radios with the Dumbo setup. That D90 Defender you had on a couple days back was pretty sweet though.
Dumbo is my go to radio. Definitely better and more range than most, and for $40 with gyro it can't be beat

Had a similar platform i bought off alibaba years ago that ran off 18650 cells great little basher ironically the longest lasting rig due to the low speed

Do you have a 1/16th erevo and do and 1/16th basher shoot out?
I have a mini t with a nasty click in reverse and a slight click forward. 25+ runs including standing backflips and mayhem and she has yet to fail . Sometimes them plastic spurs just don’t care

I have a problem where after just 1 run the ESC is flashing red, and the car won’t accelerate
Ftx tracer is only £79 online sometimes cheaper brushed and £120 for the brushless so I'd say this one in the video isn't really that good for value for money...parts for the ftx are very cheap and available if you do manage to break it

Are Grom parts interchangeable? Looks like it came out of the same factory.
Don't think so.... and yes, it's certainly made in a factory where some of the Arrmas are made ;)

I think a LOT of issues could be solved by proper shocks....that'd solve the body slamming. good durability though, the chassis seemed pretty much perfect after all the abuse....
You should upgrade the ftx kanyon with parts or alloy parts and stuff

30 bucks more and you got something much more serious like the MJX 14209 : brushless + oil shocks + much higher speed, and better durability apparently

I like the body it's beautiful makes it look like a truggy but nothing else. For the price and for a kid is ok, but for bashing it's slow.
