I lost the joy of my life a little over 4 years ago. She was my high school sweet heart and we somehow managed to make our way through this crazy world for 25-yrs together, until the good Lord called her home at the early age of 43. This was one of our favorite songs (John Fogerty's version). I never knew this cover existed until today. Thanks for not wrecking it and ruining a song that always puts a smile on my face when I hear it. Awesome version Chris! She would've loved it...

Asked my grandfather to send me a sign, he passed away eleven months ago. I turned on the radio and the chorus of this song was playing, I had never heard it until now and had to look it up. I once told her that she is the reason God put me here. A grandfather's love is special when he has a wonderful granddaughter like your grandfather and I have. Daddy had cancer toward the end and he fought to the bitter end. He won and the cancer was in remission. Unfortunately he is gone now. I only tell you this because I want you to remember it is possible to win the fight. With best wishes and all thoughts for your fight, best of luck and enjoy every single moment.

Was playing on the radio when I left the hospital after my wife had just died. It was the exact way I felt about her and I would tiptoe in to check on her before she went back to the hospital. She was my best friend and I am going to play it at her funeral.

I have been married to the joy of my life for 48 years
We just lost our 31 year old daughter on the 9th of September 2024 and this song reminds me of when she born, she was the joy of my life. It's never easy when you have to watch your child fighting cancer. She fought it for over 17 years and finally her body couldn't fight anymore but she was still fighting until her last breath. She finally let go and grow wings and went to heaven.

Sorry about the loss of your daughter. Cancer sucks and has no compassion. I know, I’ve been fighting for 4 years and I can’t receive any more chemo so I know what’s coming. Also lost my 27 yr old son in 2009. Parents ain’t supposed to bury their kids, God bless you and family.

This may seem silly to some; I know this song is about love, your soulmate, etc. It means that to me, but I always think of my cat, Bogey, that we had to help cross over the rainbow bridge in March 2021(feline leukemia) He enjoyed music, my terrible singing. 🤷🏼♀️ On the drive to the vet, we played this album in the car, knowing it was soothing music. This song came on and I almost needed to pull over to hold back tears, as I'm trying to now as well - because he was such a joy in my life to have for only 7 years. After he passed, we continued the rest of the album, and then Maggie's Song played - and, oh did I ever break down and cry. Chris Stapleton is such an amazing musician. I'm so thankful for his talent. Broken Halos is another one that gets me. Songs that make you smile, cry, remember all the joys of life of loved ones we have, or have no more. ♥️

The joy of my life left this life on 08/14/21 (Covid), no other in my life has ever compared. I never became his wife, it was all set, and 21 days into our new lives, covid took him in 3 days... I lost the joy of my life in April of this year, she kissed me and told me she loved me on a Friday and that Saturday afternoon she walked out of my life we were together 18 years and married 16 would had been 17 this pass August. It destroyed me, I never seen it coming and with know exsplaination in a blink of an eye my world changed in front of me. My heart will never be the same again.
My grand baby girl will be born in a week God willing. The joy this child has brought me without even being born is unexplainable. I pray I can be given many years with her on this earth. She is joy.

I was given the gift of meeting the finest well rounded sweetest peach off the tree just 6 months or so back. At 53 she 41 and I've been through 3 marriages yada yada. This one is the one I should waited for and I wonder if by chance I missed her at 31 years old when I visited Neatherlands. She my mirror and I'm hers. I love how positive and caring each and every Chris Stapleton fan is in all his comment sections. This is how we as people need to treat each other everyday In all situation throughout life. Music is the best blessing (in my opinion) bestowed upon us. Music Bridges All gaps and knows not color or creed, it is the one thing that can bring together people from all walks of life and all ages and have them treating each other in the best ways. Furthermore this man singing this song certainly brings people together from the most varied backgrounds and demographics yet always seems to bring the best out in people in these comments sections which are notoriously filled with people fighting and putting each other down. I lost my husband last week in a tragic work accident and I’m still struggling to come to terms with it being so sudden but I know I have to stay strong for our 2 young children. You just don’t walk out the door to work one morning and then it be your last. I’m the proudest wife and being his wife for the past 9 years was the best thing. This will be 1 of the 2 songs that will be played at his funeral as I know he loved his music 💔
