I just finished a bag for my granddaughter and this is my second bag. My recommendation is to slip-stitch the handles together before top stitching as it gave a more finished look it was a little extra work but it help to hold the handles more securely and evenly. Thanks so much for the wonderful tutorial !

I love it. I just made a crib skirt, a diaper stacker and a quilt with that John Deere Theme as a shower gift. I have fabric scraps left over that I can piece this bag. I did make receiving blankets out of flannel to match.

CONGRATULATIONS, Laura, you must be so proud. I would like to thank you, for all your tutorials, with watching your videos, I learned to make my very own quilt. from start to finish including a detailed label. I made a Super King sized Friendship Star Blocks with different patterned fabric for the memories my two dearest friends, have shared together. A husband and wife who celebrate their birthdays only 2 weeks apart from each other. I gifted the quilt to them last weekend, they are over the moon with the quilt. I wish I could show a picture of it to you, just to say thank you, for your generosity and lovingly sharing your talent to us, you are so inspirational, it was you that give my the knowledge to start quilting. Thank you so much. PS I will order a copy of your book. Love from Australia

This is a great idea and perfect timing! I am seeing Easter bags for the grandkids! I can put their goodies in them and then they will have a tote for whatever they want it for after! The ten grands range in age from newborn to 15 years old and it is always a challenge to come up with something that will suit them all. Gracious, I am gonna have to get busy! ha ha

I was going to make some smaller baskets for this year's Easter egg hunt for the kids, but after seeing this video these bags are exactly what we need. Everyone bought traditional woven baskets to the hunt last year and they were too small to hold all the eggs and gifts the kids received. These bags look like they will work PERFECTLY for the haul the kids take home! Many thanks, Laura! You rock!

Thank you for a great project. I have been making shopping bags way before our local grocery store stopped giving out bags. The bags are lined and some are quilted with extra stitching at the handles. I have left my opening to turn the bags between the handles because after it is turned and pressed, I top stitch all around the top.

I wouldn't worry about it, Margaret-Mary. I personally believe it's those people to whom the TH-cam algorithm has suggested this video would suit them, but it doesn't. So, they're unhappy with TH-cam 'Recommended for you', rather than the person who made and posted the video. In the big bad world of the internet, there will always be those Grumpy Gusses, so you have to have a thick skin to post videos out here!
