Does 3a just give no effs when it comes to configuring these things? Is it really that hard to configure these things before they copying the ad cards? And will they ever allow proper aspect ratios? I get that a lot of non retro people want full screen...but why not the option?
Not sure how it is on newer Pandora Box's, but for 6 buttons, I changed it in the global settings to ABC across the top 3 button, DEF across the bottom buttons. This makes it normal for all Capcom fighting games, at least the arcade versions. It might fix some of the control issues for other systems as well.

I have this EX, after replacing my DX, but I have noticed that with several of the two-player games, player two does not seem to work at all. Such as Gauntlet II. Pretty sure player 2 worked on my DX. Is there any way to fix this?
Will the the box work in an arcade1up also. Once you set the controls lets say for xmen vs Street fighter will they remain set the next time you turn it on
I think you may need a video driver board, but outside that, yes.- We have someone in our discord who has done precisely that (ex in the 1up). Regarding controls- you set them up once for the WHOLE system- cant really configure them per game. The global control settings are saved, however.
Might be better to put this comment in a DX video- But you should check PandoryDX, we've just released 1.12 which also adds NVRAM for a few of these games.
There's a few, but each have their pros and cons. The DX is usually the go to, but we enjoy the pandora X games / 2660 for it's finer video output... It's a little slower and you won't be adding any extra games or faffing on it though
I'm not sure that I understand why you cannot add more N64 or Dreamcast games. Is it because the flash drive is full or is there something in the programming that only allows two N64 games at a time. I would think you could add a larger flash drive or perhaps an external flash drive to the usb port like the DX has. Can you explain that to me. I asked the Pbox store and the 3H store and they said it was false. Just curious.
Please check our follow-up video on adding games. The manual that was sent out was a dx, and even the ex manual had no explanation on adding games. - we had to work it out ourselves !!!

@@bonggzilla Yeah, I love my DX for what it is now that it's using the Pandory hack, but still the squished tate games slow cpu have left me with going back to mame on my laptop. I use a jamma to usb board so i can use my Boardmaster supergun as an arcade controller in mame. I like these Pandora's Box's as easy plug n play with my supergun but for serious play it's back to mame or my actual pcb's.
Great video,. Question, many of the games I played like Striker1945, Street Fighter 3rd Strike, etc are not saving my high scores. The neo geo games like Aero Fighters and Bust A Move are saving my high scores. Is there a reason why some games are not saving my high scores?
Many of these arcade games actually DIDN'T SAVE SCORES (believe it or not!) - They left the games on for months on end. NeoGeo had memory card / save functionality, so that could be why. If you're concerned about keeping high scores, remember you can SAVE STATE when you finish and then LOAD STATE when you re-load that game. - It's a work around but should work.

I think 3A is totally falling behind it's clone competitors in terms of functionality. When they added console games to the DX, it seemed they were only doing it because Saga and PG3D had done the same to bolster their numbers. There seems to be little forethought applied to what titles they choose for these platforms. I like their choice in chipset, it should be enough to add atomiswave and naomi games, strange they chose not to. The screen tearing is likely gone due to an increase in horsepower, not because of any change they've made in their proprietary software. Oh well, perhaps when 3H games chooses to release the FX it will address the issues you have, however unlikely that is.
That was mentioned earlier... I think it's more to do with the different hardware used with graphics drivers on the mali 400 being extremely flakey at best - especially on Linux. This more likely has android running in the background , hint is the mouse pointer in the trackball game
Bang on regarding console / arcade games. They lost focus with the successful clones. Bring it back. The focus on arcade, Naomi, flawless mame titles. The console titles included should only be arcade games that cannot run well, and not to bolster up numbers (includes nes/ hacked/ cheat versions)
@@TeamPandory I have no problem with them using the Snes9x core to include Killer Instinct or Genesis GX to include Galaxy Force II. Those arcade titles wouldn't run well on this hardware. But a title like Mario kart 64 should be added by the user if they're keen on playing it on an arcade stick.
@@TeamPandory I agree 100 percent with you. I wish they would come out with an "elites editions" like coinops has. Only the best games plus a handful of the best arcade style console games. Like 500 games total and make sure they are all configured right. Of course I know 3a will never do this because it's easier to market "more games!!!" Instead of quality games configured correctly.
@Brian Babin they updated the dx a couple of times, but still didn't manage to fix any of the irritations we had with the 3A range of machines. It's like asking the council to repair a large pot hole in the road. They'd completely ignore it, then go put up speed traps.

We will be making a video regarding this in the next few weeks... The answer is a bit complex in that regards. I'm actually enjoying the "pandora x games" more than any of the 3A boxes in 15hz 4:3 CGA. The image is far sharper, and even though there is no save state, adding games, etc. It's just more fun to play on.
@@Pumpkinold with 3A boxes, yes. But the one I like to use is the Pandora X Games 2600 ... It is in our top 10 best Pandora list. Has a much finer image than the cx or dx jamma.

I do wonder if you swap out the SD for a 128gig. Those games are bigger and perhaps it is a storage issue. I found with my DX it solved my problem of having to delete games. You do need a special program to format the SD to fat32.
Yeah this board has 8 Giga BITS of memory- Basically, 1 Gigabyte. It's a marketing tactic, but you can pretend that they're going the extra mile with memory... If you like.

@@michaels-h5539 Change one line in pandory.xml and it'll switch all (most) the TATE games to be rotated. You can adjust this per game, however. Do it one time on a PC then no need to touch it again.
@@tonyfei472 It's because the other versions of mame like even from 2010 would make all the games too slow on these pandora's box's. The 3D ones are the only ones powerful enough to run mame like 2010 and newer. VSYNC also has been always off cause it uses too much cpu for mame and fba.

So the Mali G31 supports Vulkan 1.0, do any of the other emulators you guys add on here support Vulkan? May show an improvement in performance. I am thinking the ones with the Mali 450 MP8 will perform better unless Vulkan works magic somehow
Vulkan is dependant on the system it's running. I highly doubt as it is that it supports vulkan as is - remember the mouse bug is present, a relic back from Android 4

Yes. We are aware of control configuration. However setting abc def like that will give poor control maps for neogeo games, psp, ps1.

pandory is valid for EX .. it would be nice if this box was more powerful than the DX with the pandory modifications (tate mode, real pixel, etc)

Regardless, there is no way to bind the analogue stick for n64 games, so near none will work.
The dc is far more compatible.
Can you hardwire a external volume control to the board?
You could wire it up to an external amp via the 3.5mm audio jack

What's the most power pandora box out there that can play mk2 and mk3 arcade or even killer instinct 1/2 arcade
mk2 mk3 arcade, this should be ok, same as the Pandora Games 3d... But KI arcade, you will not find it in a current Pandora box.

You can do this with Pandory on a Pandora Box DX. This "Pandora Box Ex" in this video is still untouched by our software.
