I love watching your videos! My parents were crop farmers and by the time I came along they were city folk as they had a cyclone and it took all their top soil and so they gave up farming. Every summer we went back to Saskatchewan and visited all the farm families and friends. My dad would take me out around the farm and talk like your dad about all the goings on of the farm and he loved the new equipment that was coming out. When your dad is ready to retire, make him a farm tour guide so he can educate and share his knowledge like he does now. I just love it. You both work so hard and I so appreciate farmers and all the hard work they put in for our food. Thanks so much.

That is a great grass flipper. We got our last cut of grass/alfalfa here about 2 weeks ago and getting the amount and every little blade is so important. I'm hoping I have enough big bales to feed the girls this winter fingers crossed. Great job Tom!! Stay classy Ginger Warrior may the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. Can't wait to see more updates on the new shed!!

Also all of the nice equipment dealers have brought to your farm for you to use. But I also really enjoy when you and the Ginger guy discuss serious stuff. GREAT video. Thanks again :-)

If you keep it, cover it up with a tarp if you can't put in under a roof. It protects the paint from fading, and direct moisture. You'll need to uncover and let it dry out from time to time, due to condensation, but it's better then just leaving it to age in the sun, and elements.

This. Best is when you can get one that doesn't completely block air flow from underneath but ensures rain doesn't sit on it and sun doesn't directly hit it.

It looks a very good quality Tedder which will not only last a long time but if you were ever to consider selling it, it will probably hold its value. It will also have, I suspect, lower maintenance costs.

I've never had so much education about grass!
It's odd the way both Tom and father refer to the ground as 'the floor' !
Great stuff guys, love the way father is getting so much more confident in front of the camera !
When I was a child, we had a spell at RAF Warton, about 2 mile from Birks Farm, now Warton Aerodrome, as my RAF father was 'stationed' there for a while.

My niece was born there in the 1950s. We used to go out into the farmers field beside the airbase to ride the big horses. I've always loved horses. I was nine years old when we went to visit my sister and brother-in-law who were stationed there. The horses were so good. We'd climb up on their backs and they would let us being very careful of us.

Must be so satisfying doing the tethering, just watching it is satisfying. The ginger man needs his own spot on TH-cam. You should do story time with the ginger guy! Maybe a video once a month talking about how different farming is different from when he was younger to now, what’s better, what’s worse. What memories he has. He is so interesting. You could also do q & a with your team. Like 5-10 questions for each team so we get to know them as well. Great videos as always

For wet grass you can have a wheel scrubber placed on the aft of the wheel. A stiff rubber blade that attaches to the inner fender and angles into the tire at a 27 deg. Angle. The design will chase the treads before the wet grass can stuff up Uniter the hub and jamb the works..no stopping no backing. Did this to mine and have never had the problem again.

The Malone Tedder looks to be a good worthy consideration.
You and your Dad are gearing up for the modern discerning customer which I would venture to say represents a good lot of us in that we consider 3 main things:-
    1. Animal welfare. I feel confident that this in Pemberton DNA.
    2. Environmental sustainability. You are striving to improve your soils and land drainage for future generations and within your financial limitations.
    3. Revival of rural communities. You through your farm shop enterprise are bringing much needed employment to the area and keeping the rural community together whilst producing top quality produce for the discerning customer.
I think with the future move away from bps and the commencement of Elm Goverment scheme I for one see this as the way forward. Also formats like this go a long way in educating people to the challenges of modern day farming.

I will say concerning hay there's a lot to be said being able to go wide and being able to slow down your ground speed. I had to buy new haying equipment and I made a real effort to go as wide as I could. 21 foot mower. 42 foot v rake and I never go above 5 MPH in the field cause thats all I got to to make the baler grunt. I'm putting up pretty close to 500 acres at the moment ( at the moment I'm all by myself as far as running the equipment). And Id imagine the equipment ought to last a long time just because the grounds not beating the metal like it owes it money LOL

🤣🤣🤣 i love your sense of humor! Tempering the speed was always an issue with our neighbors. They ran like their hair was on fire. My dad tried to reason with them to no avail. The only upside was when they busted up equipment, they had dad weld it. He swapped welding for either a ton bale or a sack of oats. All their equipment looked like it went through a wringer after just a year. So sad for as much as you pay for it. Smh Take care!

So if I understand right the machine used today is more or less a fluffer of sorts to spread the cut grass out so it dries better? As apposed to the 'rake' used to put the grass in nice lines for the chopper/bailer. Is there anything that does both? They seam like such similar machines that I can imagine something that has a setting for 'fluff' and one for 'rake' lets say. Thanks for vid as always!

If you leave the hydraulics in float you won't damage the tedder and it will float with the terrain.

Full pto speed might be to much we run on our Kuhn tedder on pto 430-450rpm on the first run and 330-380rpm on later runs. Then it does throw the grass that wild but does a clean job in every condition! ✌🏻🤟🏻

Yeah that's what we do as well, we have Kuhn tedders as well, but we use a hydraulic top link and makes it alot easier adjusting the height but only helpful if you have enough remote banks! 👍☺

We would cut 6 cuts and the more often you cut the better chance to regenerate the sward. Tbe longer u let the grass grow the sorer it is on tbe grass. We hav a field that was sored out in 1977 and it grows the best in tbe farm. I don’t need to keep reseedin just look after ur grass

Looking over your shoulder Tom I don't see much activity with the new shed. I would have thought by now all the concrete would have been poured, Is there some holdup with the drainage or bay's that is preventing the floor going down? Another new toy for the Ginger Warrior, is that a sweetener for the NEW tractor that you have up your sleeve?
