I'm sitting in a dock being unloaded. I went to turn on my sleeper light and it wouldn't turn on. So i tried turning on my truck to see if that fixed it. Wipers flipping, same error code. This is a brand new 2023. I've got it to 13,000 in 1 month. It shouldn't be having any issues thank you for this. This is what most people have said to do.
@@ContractorsCornerConsulting it happened to me randomly after getting in a dock at a warehouse and thankfully I was able to find that most people had good luck with just resetting the computer. First time its happened on this rig and it's a 21 with 196k miles. Hope it doesn't become more frequent!
I want an automatic because of arthritis. But as an owner operator I will regret not getting a manual the first time I have issues. Manuals seem to take away alot of the computer controlling everything and make the truck like an older truck in alot of ways
I never ever ever wanted an autoshift and now I love it... seriously. Keep up on the Maintenance like a crazy person like ya should do anyways and I feel things will do well.. (This is Charley)
From what I understand its a glitch in code from time to time in the programming. That is how it was explained to me anyhow by a freightliner dude. (Charley)
@@ContractorsCornerConsulting wow So it is something that we will have to solve in the same way every time, there is no permanent solution, I saw someone say that it was a fuse in the battery or something like that too
If it is infact the error that can be corrected by resetting the truck its this. There is another stalk switch error that some have had and its an actual hardware problem (Charley)
My 2023 cascadia has been in the shop for 22 days they still cannot figure out what's causing the problem have replaced part after part under the dash still fails to me truck is a Limon and was built in Mexico quality control out the door
I took my 2023 cascadia to dealership 2 times they cant fix it I'm gonna bring it back again. But I will never ever buy freightliner again theyre just shit.
Charley here. If its the basic Software glitch that usually causes this issue it really is this easy. I{ve had to do it. Ive seen others have to do it. The ones it doesnt work for from what Ive been told are folks who have larger issues than just the software glitch meaning there is a physical problem with hardware not software.
I have no doubt it will for me also but knowing how to get it running again in just a few minutes without tools keeps me from worrying too much about it honestly. (This is Charley)
Sorry I didnt see this until today Greg. If you are looking for the basics I would simply reachout to Michelle Cantrell from the greer Terminal. 864-968-7605 she can get you a lot of what you are after as far as the basic contract type of things Charley
I havent seen it not work for anyone Ive talked too or seen videos on. Did you make sure to actually kill the power with a kill switch or if needed disconnect the batteries if you dont have a kill switch?

Glad this worked for you. It has worked for me Twice now :)
Thank you for this the 5 minute power reset worked flawlessly
Sweet. I've been told there is some sort of update for it. I haven't had time to look into it myself yet.
Glad this helped though.

Yeah it's happened to me twice so far in 98k miles on truck
Mine is currently on its 5 minute reset. Hopefully works
Thanks! Fixed my no start issue, same error. 5 minutes and boom starts up
Sweet glad we could help out :)
I left my kill switch off all night and still have that message

That’s a recall item. From my understanding it’s a free fox during a service at swift or freightliner
cool Ill look into it
Thank you!!
You are most welcome :)
How do you fix it if it don't have that master switch
You would need to manually disconnect the batteries themselves. :(
Hello, I was able to solve it, thank you, but could you tell me why this happens?
That's great! We have no idea why this happens. It seems the more whizbangs they put on these trucks the more there is to go wrong.

@@ContractorsCornerConsulting OK OK thanks my friend 💪🏻
I had the same problem Cascadia took it to the dealer Couldn't fix it the 1st time I took it back again and finally they fixed
How'd they fix bro
What was the actual fix? We know that turning off the battery resets the system but what actually fixed the problem?
They say it's a software glitch that pops up from time to time. The battery reset reboots the entire system until the next time.
My 2023 cascadia has been in the shop for 22 days they still cannot figure out what's causing the problem have replaced part after part under the dash still fails to me truck is a Limon and was built in Mexico quality control out the door
Ok racist
I hit the kill switch and after 60 seconds it cleared the error
Sweet thanks for the info ;)

Ok i wish it was this easy ..

The thing is some of those freightliner don't have a kill switch
then you would simply need to disconnect the batteries for 5 minutes not really a huge issue
My doesn't but I left the key off for a few minutes and the it started
@@justinriggs8485 dude thanks so much it definitely worked leaving the key on left for a little bit. Started right up. Thanks my friend
It will come back on again and again

Can one of you guys email with basic info like pay and such?

The new Freightliners are garbage
I like mine so far. A year into it and that's the only real issue I've had and that's not even really been an issue
My truck turned it self of going down road at 65
WOW! That sounds scary!
Tried that, didn't work

Did you ever get it to work ?
I’m currently having this issue
