Have you ever watched the swing of a young Jack Niclaus? It was the swing of a long driver. He monstered it. John Daly hit it longer than tiger and he used to drink beer instead of go to the gym. Just because someone is younger, newer and has improved training methods doesn't mean its always superior. Niclaus and Daly are two of the longest hitters in the history of the tour. Tiger is a great golfer who hits it very far, but even then there are long drive hitters who can fly the ball 50 yards farther than him..... doesn't mean they are better golfers.

The weight compared to graphite shafts even in those days is insane. Can you imagine a 24 year old Tiger hitting the quality graphite shafts we have in 2020??
