- This a video explaining, one way, how to use the MB-339 jet in really poor weather. We start in Halifax CYHZ and then fly to Moncton CYQM using the ILS 29 to take us down to Hard minimums. It was a fun challenge and It's great IFR practice in a plane that has NO Autopilot.
Thank you for the video, you explained it very well. I've always enjoyed this plane and I enjoy learning more about its navigation system in the sim. I didn't know that you use the GTN 750 with this plane, that opens many more doors! I agree I wish that it had an ADF too.
What a great video dude! Well done!
Not sure if you knew this or not but, after playing around with the controls on my Bravo throttle quadrant, I can confirm that this aircraft does have a full autopilot, even though there are no actual autopilot controls in the cockpit. All autopilot functions work: HDG, ALT, V/S, NAV, and APPR using RNAV mode. You can select the autopilot modes using keyboard-bindings or a controller like the Bravo throttle quadrant, Stream Deck, or an X-Touch Mini (I've tried it with all three). When the GPS is in NAV mode, it will follow the route setup in the GTN750 or presumably a VOR-to-VOR flight plan created on the MSFS World Map. So, you can either follow the flight directors or use the GPS for navigation.
I had no idea.... interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Well done mate, thank you for this video!
Thank you so much :) I really needed a video like this to show how to navigate. Keep up the good work :)
Thank you, and you are very welcome!
