I think we just need a continual rotation of the correspondents as hosts, make that permanent. They've all been great, and I'd rather they all get chances to shine like this more and bring their own spin to the show, rather than pick just one, or worse, someone not already a part of the show.

I love Ronnie but his sarcasm wouldn't translate well to the role. It would eventually be too much and I certainly wouldn't want him to stop being "Ronnie" just to be the host. None of that is to say he couldn't do it, I just don't think the character he has created would do well in that spot.
Ronny Chieng has been my favorite DS correspondent since he first appeared. Now he's my favorite correspondent guest host. That said, this is the funniest bit I can recall from Kosta.
Mr. Chieng, I’ve struggled with my weight all my life. So when I hear comedians mention ozempic, I get worried. you could’ve made fat people jokes, but that’s punching down. Instead you made some tasteful jokes, and I really REALLY appreciate it. ❤
I consistently laugh more times per minute with Ronny than ANY other temporary host! Jeez, let's just make it official already. And his chemistry with Michael Kostas continues to be a high point.
FR! That’s why when Trevor Noah announced he was leaving I was hoping he took over cuz he along with Trevor have always been the most hilarious on the show!! So I’m super happy whenever he pops up on my screen LOL
I enjoy the different hosts and the different views they bring. TDS needs revolving co- hosts and one regular host to guide them. The one problem all the guest hosts have, especially those without talk show experience, is they can seem a bit lost up there. Not bad, they just need practice. A few days isn’t enough time to reach their full potential. I think Leslie Jones is amazing at the job. I love watching her. She looks like she can get uncomfortable though. Friday when she had Klepper with her she seemed more at ease. Silverman and Handler were the only ones, to me, who got up there and ran with it but they both had show’s previously.
Yo give Ronny the job. He’s the perfect host: funny and cynical of everything and that cynicism won’t hurt him mentally when reporting on the news where news is bad all the time. He has great delivery too.
If Ronny became the permanent host, I would return as a regular viewer. Without denigrating any of the other hosts, this gentleman is on another level of delicious stinging sarcasm and polished, intelligent, delivery. The only one who can fill Jon's shoes. I spent 20 formative years in Singapore, as an expat, so am a little biased (at the tip of Malaysia) Mr. Chieng is a perfect fit. Make it happen Daily Show.
I love how the people who are held prisoner by Hamas are called "hostages", but when they mention the prisoner swap they talk about Palestinian women and children who are "detaied in Israel". So what Id like someone to explain to me is this: What specific difference is there - in terms of freedom and living conditions - between a "hostage" and a "detainee" ?
I've seen this so much. They are so specific and intentional with wording like this because it downplays what is actually happening to Palestinians. There was no mention of the number of Palestinians being released, why they were in custody in the first place either. What did those women and children do to be detained? I'm glad you caught the difference in wording too
I'd say TDS has created a new trend: cycling hosts with cameos now and again, and its refreshing. Kudos to the writers, imagine working toward various hosts each night.
