      This is part of why the whole notion of "I don't see color" is flawed: it's a nice thought, but in practice is all about homogeny and forcing diverse people to assume a "default" culture as defined by the majority. It's about making sure the people who have the most power remain as comfortable as possible by wiping out any distinctions that would give them FOMO, like different languages, religions, cultures, traditions, etc. The end result is a society that mocks and belittles anyone who doesn't conform to that default, with language being a key component of that.

    I was both angry and so sad when I saw that video. To this day I can’t even look at Watters. My daughter is from China. She adopted us when she was a baby. We had and still have many friends in the Chinese community where we live. A dear sweet couple who were seniors became surrogate grandparents to our sweet girl. They poured all the love in their hearts out to my daughter and have had lasting influence on her and our lives. They fled southern China after the revolution. They only knew a few words of english but we had no problem understanding the love and care they gave our whole family. When Waters did that piece and mocked the older folks I couldn’t help but see our friends and how easily he could have treated them the same. It makes me sick to think if it. I can’t believe he is still on the air.

      @kingranches 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok, were going to give you a pass on this question because youre not from the States. The answer to your question " how could fox news air such pathetic reporting" is simply, because ITS FOX NEWS and pathetic, easily exposed, propaganda is all they do. You see, in the US, the Daily Show bills itself as a comedy show, not REAL news, but the truth is all they speak. At the same time Fox NEWS bills itself as REAL NEWS but is actually a propaganda tool for republicans and all they tell is LIES, to people who believe that there is no such thing as reality, and that the truth is anything enough people WISH were true or that you can get enough people to believe. -Don't even try to figure that out, its an American thing... Just remember it.

It's Disrespectful that they let us immigrate here and we don't speak English is slap in the face for the U.S. It also offends me when ppl ask me if I speak Spanish and I thought the primary language here is English??? It's just like if you immigrate in whatever other country and you force them to speak your language and you're moving into their country you should by respect and courtesy to learn the language of that country you're immigrating to. Republicans have no real sense of humor and therefore self-deprecation is not a thing within that party. They could learn a lot from listening to President Biden since he has a great sense of humor and does not even mind when someone pokes fun at him!

    I love these Beyond the Scenes videos. The Daily Show might be comedic, but they really do a great job reporting on issues we care about.
