I remember when the Rhea incident was happening on TV, I saw my father in a completely different light. He was gossiping with his friends on phone while being glued to the TV news. One day I dconfronted him but he dismissed me. Then he started calling me antinational ( ftw!) And was like , " tumhari koi musaalmaan girlfriend Hain??!! ( !!!!
Long story short I had to leave the house ( coz I was living in his house and many times he would say if you don't like what I watch or feel, leave. My older brother is like him only) and start a new life on my own. We don't speak anymore. It has been so traumatic. I don't know why I am writing this here 😐

First upper caste women should marry out of their caste. Only then reservations can be removed. Most upper caste women marry same caste because they can enjoy the social and cultural capital given by caste structure. Until then reservations should be there.

Women, because only by forcing them to endogamy, the patriarchs preserve caste. Reservation will go, only when an equal ground is created. Upper caste children mostly go to coaching centers. Also in upper caste families, almost four generations are educated which gives the younger ones an advantage of guidance. Whereas lower caste were prohibited to get educated because of untouchability. Very rarely we see two generations of lower caste being graduated. This inequality was because of the brahmanical caste system preserved through same caste marriage. First you marry out of your caste, leaving the fear of your parents not giving you their property and all your caste based social connections. And then reservations can be removed. First stop perpetuating caste through marriage, then talk about reservations

In SSR's case, he had all the means and resources to take psychiatric help. He didn't keep up with his treatment and messed it up with his drug addiction despite doctor's advice. Only he can be blamed for it. Rhea cld'nt have helped him much.
