I love how the DLC somehow made being Ranni's consort even more popular as a concept.
We all want Ranni and Miquella bitch slapping each other whenever Radahn grabs us
Yeah, the DLC makes the ending more canon. Ranni's Age of Stars is the polar opposite of the Age of Compassion. Age of Comparrion is starlight within a circle (Order). Age of Stars is Moonlight.
One is peaceful and warm tyranny, the other cold and distant free will. One is built of two cooperators killing each other after their alliance is broken and forcefully merging, and the other of two allies winning together and celebrating their union.

Just for fun: Ranni constantly complains about Tarnished dodge-rolling, complains that he's using the Dark Moon Greatsword wrong despite having used it for who knows how many years/centuries by that point, complains when the Dark Moon Greatsword is put away for the Blasphemous Blade, keeps suggesting to the Tarnished to summon spirits to end the fight faster so they can do more important things like stargazing, all the other banter, while supporting with spells.
You throw the controller against the wall and quit out of heartache.

And given that Ranni’s power will be absolute so long as you’re around to help her embody the Natural order, you pretty much check mated the notion of a cycle.

@1Sky1Earth The 2 problems are Ranni and the unknown. Ranni is selfish and caused a lot of problems in ER. She is arguably very evil all things considered. Her ending doesn't imply any protection from star beast it's just the removal of gods. It may open the world up to more horrors in the cosmos. Plus she is being guided by the moon which may be alive and may be a god. It's not the worse ending but it does offer a lot of problems.
Ranni’s is a chaotic good ending compared to the others
Would be crazy if you could fight the "Consort of The Endless Night" in a future dark souls. Like a fight against a past you. Requirement beaten elden ring with ranni ending.

FromSoft has done sequels in which you kill the protag of the previous game before. DS3 and AC4A are on top of my head.
So fromsoft makes a login system, so players can log their events and decisions and it will show up in a future title to add to the personal adventure. Dragon Age style right?

It be awesome if in the fight with consort Radan and Miquella, if you've married Rani then she appears on your back to boost your stats the same way as the boss.
Reduce Magic damage taken, buff attacks with magic, and some FP regen seems fair. Now the Fingerprint path having Shabriri on your shoulder would be fun.

I always had this idea that a player character would grow so strong to the point to be on equal power to the Final Boss. But by sheer determination and will, they can overpower the Boss, and the Boss' theme gets interrupted, only to be replaced by our own.

Tarnished: *Fire Spur Me*
And when you fight the Tarnished and Ranni, you finish it by killing Ranni and fatally wounding the Tarnished, who weeps over Ranni's body and speaks their only words: "You were at my side all along... my true mentor... my guiding moonlight..." and dies, lying over Ranni's body. Corny, yes. But the line just feels so fitting in the context of the Tarnished's relationship with Ranni.

I just love imagining how this spirit version of Ranni buffs the Tarnished in battle. Maybe her hair can weave into different extra limbs that look like Astel's, kind like aspects of the Crucible but for intelligence builds. I want to fly on giant stardust wings and slap Radahn with a tail made of planets!

They would be the true definition of chaos. That's how that fight should feel. One wrong move, just that one foolish decision seals your fate, and the True Lord of Chaos would incinerate your soul, all the while laughing with an empty, cold, soulless voice that is devoid of the character you once knew.
I don't know about you sorcerer folk but I'm gonna turn into a giant dragon with my dragon wife, Florissax. Torrent gets to ride on my back.
Ranni giving you MGS doesn't mean you have to be a sorcerer. I'm a Faith main, myself. Let me supplement her sheer offensive potential with tactical support buffs and multiflavored offense of my own.

Phase 2 Transition: Ranni removes herself from the Tarnished's back, and begins to cast a powerful spell only for the Tarnished hold up their hand. Curious, Ranni waits as the Tarnished sheds their armor, draws two katana, and dons a pot on their head.

Everybody talking about how the Tarnished would ride Torrent in one of his phases, here's me going:
"Phase one: Tarnished on Torrent.
Phase 2: Off of Torent, Ranni embracing the Tarnished from behind.
Phase 3: Ranni alternates from embracing the Tarnished to riding around the field on Torrent, casting spells while the Tarnished proceeds to show off his weapon collection on the poor fools who challenged him.
The fact that this low-key and unpurposefully predicted NightReign is extremely funny.
What I imagine the Death Voice lines would be.
Herald of the Age of Stars (Phase One): *Point Down Gesture*
Consort of Endless Night (Phase 2):
"Our Age of Stars shall remember thy sacrifice."
"The fate of all layeth under our Moon."

I think it should go like this:
First Phase, on Torrent, switching between several non elemental weapons: Tarnished of no Origin
Second Phase, on foot, switching between different elemental weapons: The Tarnished, One who Ended Legends
Third Phase, Ranni on back, using a more powerful Moonlight/Galaxy Greatsword: The Voiceless Lord, Consort of the Dark Moon
It's meant to be a retelling of The Tarnished story, starting as fameless nobody, to the one who killed the demi gods, then finally as the lord of a new age. And while I would love Torrent to be included more, we all know that mounted bosses aren't all that fun. Maybe Torrent could charge in and out like the Putrescenes Horse does, or The Tarnished could temporary summon Torrent to reposition. Then in the third phase Ranni would of course be casting spells, and maybe summoning weak minions to split the players attention. Any thoughts or critiques to my idea?
Edit: You know what, what if The Tarnished switches between mounted and unmounted no matter the phase? I think that could be interesting
That's the best idea in the comment section! Most people seem to want Ranni to enter the picture on phase two, but I agree that it makes more sense for a final phase. Another interesting thing of note could be that the Tarnished doesn't have traditional phase transitions, you actually kill them every phase and the next phase starts when they re-enter the room.

When I first saw the thumbnail, I assumed this was going to be about the Night's King in A Song of Ice and Fire.
Nightreign's final boss be like:
1st phase: last elden lord, ender of the old order
Arena: same background as astels
But it's a big temple like structure with multiple columns
2nd phase eternal nights consort
Arena: background slowly collapses showing the entirety of the lands between
0:01 (Phase 1)
Tarnished, Promised Consort of Ranni
1:23 (Phase 2)
Tarnished, Betrothed of Ranni
Lord knows my Tarnished loves a good fight. I think if he were a boss, when faced with a truly challenging opponent, he would rejoice and, in reverse fashion to Godfrey, call upon Ranni so he could face a worthy challenger to his Dark Moon Throne as more than just a warrior. He would fight under his well-earned titles, Lord of Stars and Eternal Consort. That, or this theme would play when he and Ranni went to hunt down The Outer Gods.
Phase one: demigod puppet, vessel of ranni.
Phase two(the doll is dead and ranni wasn't using it anymore) : tarnished consort , to ranni queen of the age of stars.
Final phase (ranni joins in and get's on back . Can ride torrent): tarnished consort of ranni, the final lord of all.
I like these themes i did see some people's personal opinions on it and while i see where they are coming from i think what you have already fits ranni and her consort eternal the most i don't know just feels right for a hypothetical boss fight for this "character"

The player enters a cavernous and dark chamber, the only light illuminating it being that of the moon entering through a circular window of stained glass, there's only two thrones in the room; one occupied by a blue ghostly figure that dissapers the second the player sees it, upon the other it sits a tall and hefty humanoid clad in silver armor adorned with gold inlay and encrusted in purple and teal glinstone, a blood red cape atop his shoulders.
The figure cast his attention to the player while holding the dissapering hand of the ghost. Then it speaks:
- "Tell me, Invader. Does thou undertand, within thy botomless idiocy, the profundity of thy insolence!? Does thou even beging to recognize the profoundness of thinne affront; depreciating this holy place with thy pressence and the stench of those so called gods!?.
The figure stands from the throne and unsheets the darkmoon greatsword releasing frost and wind.
- "I shall make thee understand"
The title " Eternal Consort of The Endless Night" appears in the screen and Consort of The Endless Night begins to play, the bossfight has officially started.
*Once the player manages to drop the boss' life to half:
The boss drops to one knee and plunges the darkmoon greatsword into the ground, his cape begins to burn with small black and gold flames, his armor begins to emit small sparks of golden lighting (baylefire).
- "I only ask of thee, thou consent, adored Ranni my guiding moonlight"
A ghostly hand and face made themselves present in front of the boss, the hand grabs the chin of the boss and lifts his head so their eyes meet, there's an almost imperceptable nod and she dissapears once again. From inside the helm of the boss 2 golden lights appears and suddenly the boss explodes in a ball of black and golden lightning flames.
Once the boss reapears his armor is blackened by the flames, burning from within, his cape gone, the darkmoon greatsword once again in his right hand but a second sword is in his left equal to the darkmoon one but with a golden blade emitting fire and lighting instead of frost.
- "On my name, on my love and on my life, i hereby vow none shall disturb the peace and tranquility of this, our sacred ground! Death upon anyone that dares to try! DEATH UPON THEE INVADER!"
The title changes to "Tarnished, Godslayer." and a song similar to Ludwig the Accursed starts playing
The second phase has officially started.
*Once the player manages to kill the boss:
The boss drops to the floor still clutching onto both swords, the lighting flames and golden eyes die out. The player looks upon the throne and then a dissembodied voice makes itself known while the throne room dissapears and the player is transported to a plane similar to that of the Elden Beast but with twin moons in the background.
- "We have procured upon thee, kindness enough. Let it be known, upon my name as Ranny the Witch, my consort´s ample dream shall not be disturbed by one such as thee."
Ranni appears on top of the boss and wraps two of her arms around, similar to how Miquella does it, the boss is revitalized and he summons Torrent. Ranni summons her staff and raises it just like Renalla did once, while the boss raises the darkmoon greatsword alongside her:
- "Once thou have yield and thy path has blackened out. Once thou have been plunged into fear, doubt, and loneliness. Send word, far and wide of the last Witch of Caria, her consort the last Elden Lord, and the eternal night they have conjureth"
The title changes to "Dear Consort Eternal of Ranni The Witch of The Endless Night" and The Night that Bind Us plays.
The final phase has oficially started.

I like to imagine the fight thusly.
Phase 1: Obscured Traveler.
The arena is black as void where the ground is like water. And then, little stars appears, and out of the void comes the Tarnished on Torrent. They are armed with a bow, and jump around in the darkness, taking pot shots with arrows that sometimes looks like shooting stars.
Intermission. Torrent screams and vanishing, throwing the Tarnished on the ground, sinking into the dark waters. Then, in the void, a light slowly appears. The camera pans and the Full Dark Moon rose, illuminating the arena which resembles Rennala's arena. A voice is heard, as the Tarnished rise from the waters, pulled by a figure grabbing him from his back, Ranni the Witch.
"Fight not your challengers alone, dearest Consort. Wherever you go, so too will the Light of the Dark Moon. This was, and will ever be my promise to you."
The Tarnished, now on foot, brandishes the Sword of Night and Flame, while the puppet Ranni wields her own staff.
Phase 2: Guardian of the Dark Veil
The fight is now a frenetic close-mid range attacks, where quick swings of the swords are followed by a wave of magic or fire acting as a delayed hit, taunting the player to open his guard to hit only to be engulfed in flames. A several points, the Tarnished will retreat to long range, where they will raise their sword above their head, allowing Ranni to bless it, transforming it into the Dark Moon Greatsword, and launching powerful waves of magic. All the while Ranni will summon chill mists and swords of ice defensively.
Vainquishing:
The Tarnished will scream in pain while turning to ashes while the puppet will fall on the ground inert. A voice will resonate.
"Enough. Peak beyond the veil if you so burn to do so, and despair at your ambition."
The phrase "Challenge Overcome" will appear, and the arena will return to a circular room of stone.
In the middle of it will be the remains of a broken puppet in the likeness of Ranni, and the player will be able to collect the Knowledge of Denial quest item. Its description will read.
"Long ago did a Dark Moon rise, bringing an age of obscurity and impiety. Its heralds, fittingly, were said to be a pale puppet and a warrior of no renown, who weaved a veil to obscure mortals from divine eyes. To bring an end to these ever elusive champions would be a deed worthy of eternal glory. But this is just an empty puppet."
Imagine fighting this in Elden Ring 2
"Hear me, foul Champion of the Flenzied Flame... The Age of the Stars shall not be tarnished by thee... Now, you'll face the true power of the Dark Moon, yielded by the Corsort of the Endless Night, Last Elden Lord. You will face true horror."
What if there was a phase where Tarnished uses different great runes as his movesets? Maybe turn them into the Elden Ring as an ultimate attack.

First phase fighting the last Elden lord.
Second phase: consort of the dark moon and Ranni.
Third phase: tarnished of no renown, and his loyal steed Torrent.
After his defeat, Torrent nudges his fallen Tarnished whose last strength is used to pet Torrent. Who simply lays next to the spot of his champion
This aged well.

I can imaging a three phase fight like a cross between loretta and soul of cinder. 1st phase on torrent doing double jumps over you, then gets knocked off during transition to 2nd phase, becoming similar to SoC switching between builds, and then 3rd phase, ranni on the back with dark moon wave attacks.
Radahn ripoff was possible, but hey, this image reminds me of the elder prince. But moonlight greatsword.

I love how steady both phases are. There's a persistent progression that makes me think of songs to do with travelling over water. It's calm but determined. Amazing work!
It would be awesome if, in second phase Rahdan (DLC), if you've unlocked the Age of Stars achievement Ranni appears (perhaps briefly as not to clutter the screen) and covers the Arena with her Dark Moon, blocking all the pillar of light attacks from the boss. He could still obviously have his shadow clone BS and the arena-wide light wave, and I think the moon would probably be broken through once he does his Meteor attack, but it would be a pretty damn cool addition to the boss imo

It’s interesting that in a way with the dlc you can actually fight an opposite version of the three primary endings (sorry death, dung, goldmask are all variation of the vanilla ending). Godfrey/ Horah Loux represents the vanilla ending and Elden Lord becoming tarnished and banished meanwhile you are a tarnished returning to the lands between to become Elden Lord. Then there’s Midra repping the lord of chaos ending holding back the frenzy while you unleash the power of insanity’s flame unto the world. Then last but not least, there’s Radahn and Miquella whose relationship (not like that) is extremely questionable under the very best of circumstances and his Age of “Compassion” is directly counter to Ranni’s (poorly translated) Age of Stars. The age of compassion is forced compassion through the removing of will while Ranni seeks to free the world from the will of outer beings putting fate back into the hands of people. Also as everyone jokes but is factual your union is consensual meanwhile radahn’s is coerced at best.

The age of stars is similar to the age of dark or the "age of men" in dark souls which is the opposite of the age of fire or age of the gods.

miquella parallels his mother, marika. He seeks to bring about paradise itself. But you cannot have peace and free will. You can only have one. Miquella is to be pitied because the only one to truly suffer in his age of compassion is miquella himself. He is the only one who knows that none of it is real and a thousand year voyage such as this will break him. Which is why st trina tells you to not "let the poor thing become a god" and that "caged divinity is beyond saving".
And just like his mother shattering the elden ring to end her reign, the one to shatter his age will be none other than himself. He is currently in the phase that marika is in when she brought upon her own golden order bringing about temporary peace and bounty. The part in the timeline who did not yet find out whatever truth there is that led her to shattering her age.

What I said is that it puts fate back into the hands of the world’s people instead of outer gods like the Greater Will or the God of Rot. What they do with that is their own fault (it won’t be good considering the current state of affairs). However, at least it will be their own choice to do it rather than the will of a foreign entity. It will be very different to Dark Souls Age of Dark considering it has been very explicitly stated that there was a world before the Erdtree a recognizable one, definitely a chaotic one but one nonetheless.

Now that's some top tier heroic music. I gotta say it has some Halo Master Chief vibes to it. A hero and his ally going into battle to save the world against all the odds. It resonates resolve and heroic willpower to triumph.
I played Halo a lot when I was younger, so its music style has probably worked its way into my stuff for sure.

This is so majestic and chilling, i cam completely imagine it playing while the Tarnished is going out and spreading Ranni's influence
Sorry if it sounds wrong, I don't want to undermine your work, because it is actually a 9/10.
What I think it lacks to be a 10/10 tho, is just 1 lil detail: Radagon theme (the 1st phase). This song is not only tied to Radagon, but it represents Elden Ring as a whole and the player character too.
A Radagon leitmotiff on the song would completely fill the gaps needed to make it sound like an Elden Ring boss track. But that's my opinion, again, sorry if I sound like a dipshit
No, I totally like that idea. At one point, it had the main harp melody, but I ended up going without any real references to the main game. The main inspirations were Rennala's boss music since that second phase is actually just a fight against Ranni. So it was about mixing Ranni's 'theme' and the player's, which, as you said, is Radagon's. Regardless glad you liked it
