Yes Ray Park (Darth Maul) is a martial artist. He also plays toad in the first X-Men movie.😉
and also Snake Eyes in the two GI Joe films (Rise of Cobra and Retaliation)
He also played Baraka in MK 1997
@@damonkeysupaboii1023 He was also Raiden's very obvious stunt double in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation in his big fight sequence...
Wow! Didn't notice him...but yes, his form is #unforgettable !
The theme during Qui-Gon & Obi-wan vs Darth Maul is called Duel of Fates.
Some people have already commented on Ray Park but they didn't mention that he was also the stunt double for James Remar who was Raiden in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and Snake eyes in the first two G.I. Joe live action movies.
The actors who were Jar Jar and Anakin got a lot of flack. A lot of people said that Jar Jar was a racist stereotype and a lot of hatred was directed at Ahmed Best who played him. He has said that as a black man the criticism got to him. He became depressed and thought his career was over at the time. He even contemplated suicide. Fortunately, he was able to pull himself out of depression and has since continued his connection with the franchise.
Jake Lloyd was bullied by fans online and kids at school for his portrayal of Anakin. It got so bad he quit acting in 2001 and only did conventions to make money. His life after Star Wars is really tragic - in 2015 he was taking meds for schizophrenia but stopped taking them and assaulted his mom, he got pulled over for reckless driving, driving without a license, and resisting arrest, in 2018 his older sister died in her sleep and in 2020 he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
Do we know someone else who was born without a father give you a clue that person birthday is Dec 25
and "May the force be with you" is like "Peace be with you"
Darth Maul is my 2nd favorite character and Anakin is my favorite
Darth maul is so fire 🔥 wasn’t in the movie long but every time he stepped on the scene I had straight goosebumps! Doing the next one in couple days !
@@mrflickswatches awesome can't wait and I gotta ask any plans to watch the animated show called The Clone Wars. It's takes place between Attack of The Clone and Revenge of The Sith. It's pretty widely considered some of if not the best Star Wars material out there and adds a lot to the story and ties things in a lot better
@@hunterwise5156 yes I’m gonna finish the movies then watch the show eventually I can’t promise immediately after but I will watch !
@@mrflickswatches alright awesome just so ik not to talk about the show. Can't wait
I like Padme in star wars 1 & 2 love Anakin from star wars 2
The actor that played Maul is Ray Park. He is a martial artist if you have seen the first X-men movie he was in that as well playing the character of Toad. Ray Park was originally hired as a stunt coordinator as well as fight choreographer but when he displayed his skills as a martial artist he got the part of Maul. Also Maul did not actually die in this movie ;) that happens a few years before ANH on Tatooine when Obi-Wan changes his lightsaber form from the normal form 3 he was the master of during the time of episode 2-3 to form 4 which is what he used in this movie and caught Maul off guard. He did the same thing in his fight with Vader in the final of the Obi Wan series as well.
Spoiler!
Glad to see you’re still doing Star Wars! Nice!
I can’t remember if you stated in the video but the old Senator guy that had multiple scenes talking to Padme (Natalie Portman) about the Senate is The Emperor from the Original movies.
Fun fact, in the final scene on Naboo, Palpatine (The Emperor), is there and the song that is being played is a rendition of the Emperors theme song from the Original Trilogy, except instead of being sung slow and by deep voiced men, it’s sung by faster paced and high vocal children, it’s to show how The Emperor has been in control since the beginning and how innocent Anakin is at the time
Wow. Really?
Great way to throw that spoiler out there. WTF??
@@aceldamia9114 it’s not a spoiler towards him since he has already reacted to the OG trilogy before watching the prequels, and if you are mad that you got spoiled, maybe don’t go into the comment section of reaction video of one of the most popular film franchises in the world and expect to not see spoilers. If I knew he was reacting to these before the OG’s I wouldn’t put it, also, yeah it could be my fault if he doesn’t realize it until Revenge of the Sith that Palpatine was Sidious but sorry, also, I doubt he woulda read my comment that at the time was new in a video that was 3 months old when I commented it
this was my first star movies as a child when I was in the hospital due to a chest infection (Had lost of those!) You're going to love the rest of 'em! Will you be watching the clone wars and bad batch series as well as the movies? I'm curious.
But great reaction, also, Jar Jar is so funny!
I plan to do clone wars but I gotta see where we are at around that time !
@@mrflickswatches cool!
Can you guess who Maul's next target would be if he defeated Obi-wan? It really was a duel of fates. Anakins fate.
I can't really reply to this without spoiling the next two movies, but let's just say that there's no way Maul's master would allow him to hurt Anakin
@@yomama629 you didn't understand what I said. I said his fate in a vague sense. If both jedi lost Anakins fate with the dark side would truly be sealed and Maul would have taken him to palpatine.
@@clasher138or that if Qui-Gon hadn’t died that Anakin would have never gone to the dark side. Anakin’s fate was sealed in the moment Qui-Gon was struck down. You can’t say Anakin’s fate would have been sealed if Kenobi lost because Anakin did fall to the dark side even with Kenobi winning.
@Goobcutus of Borg yes but all was not lost because he was still brought back to the light in the long run. If Maul won then then everyone would be screwed
@@clasher138 maybe, maybe not. But how George Lucas described the meaning of “Duel of the Fates” it was about Anakin needing a father figure and that’s how Anakin saw Qui-Gon. It wasn’t about Maul needing to win or lose, it was about Qui-Gon winning or losing. From Palpatine’s point of view, that’s what he needed to happen. Palpating won that fight and that’s all that mattered. Everything else that happens after Qui-Gon’s death was irrelevant.
Hey dude. My favorite Star Wars character is Darth Vader. No shame in liking Maul. If there’s one thing I know about this franchise it’s that the villains command absolute presence. And the Sith of course deal in absolutes.
The music isn't Darth Maul's anthem but more so about the fate of Anakin, hence why it's called the Duel of the Fates. This fight impacted Anakin's life to where he was trained by Obi-Wan instead of Qui Gon Jinn and the rest is history.
Not surprised that you will like the prequels more. Most people now appreciate the prequels, especially since the sequels came out. I do enjoy this movie because of the pod race, seeing little Anakin, knowing he created C3PO, a young Obi-Wan and the fight scenes with the lightsabers.
Also, "Unity" = Dave Chappelle show Rick James/Charlie Murphy.....COLD BLOODED......LOL!!!!!
Cold blooded!! 😂😂
It's not explained thoroughly but if they took Shmi with them she would have exploded. We don't get to see them remove Anakin's transmitter chip but he had one implanted until he won the race. It was to make sure slaves didn't free themselves.
I do not get how anyone can tell that not only is that not Natalie Portman, but that it's Kiera Knightley. I have known which one is which in every scene since the movie came out in theaters, seen this countless times, and I cannot tell them apart.
The eyesight is with you, young Damia. But you are not a Jedi yet.
“And I slaughtered them like animals”
Yoda seen that darkness coming in Anakin the whole time though, thats crazy
I like phantom menace and attack of the clones but the other four are just so much better to me. Revenge of the sith and empire are my favorite. Followed by Jedi and hope. But I still like episodes 1 and 2. Clones more than menace.
Bro fucken nailed the tusken raider noise. Made me laugh 😂
love this one and grew up watching it
Awesome reaction and I've always enjoyed this film, I love Liam Neeson and Darth Maul.
Watch the clone wars, animated series after the next movie 7 seasons of getting to know all these different characters and some other ones... Then, when you're around season seven, you can watch revenge of the Sith... The best stuff is actually in the few animated series .. if you do decide to do it, watch it in chronological order the clone wars,
You need to watch Darth Maul Dark Apprentice on youtube it really shows just how good Qui-Gon and Obi-wan were when it comes to lightsaber combat. Maul takes on 6 or 7 Jedi in the fan made film which is set before episode 1 and destroys them
Ray Park...he's the best. He puts the "Darth" in to Maul. :D
Yeah one of my favorite characters so far ! Idc if he doesn’t stick around ! Love him 🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏽
The balance of the Living Force will be restored when Jedi and Sith are gone or recombined into the Je'daii. Anakin helped wipe out the Jedi, turned away from the Sith by killing the only remaining one. This left Luke and Leia to walk a fresh path.
16:00 Yes I caught the reference. Rick James parroted by Dave Chapelle
Even though many people like the phantom menace. I still like the movie. Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️
You, and I'm paraphrasing here: "I'm watching faces...older movies, especially Star Wars, have lots of people who go on to be famous..."
Also you, mere moments later, also paraphrased: "Is that Keira Knightly? Nah, it must be someone who looks like her."
😂🤣😂🤣
I watched Star wars movies for first timea a year ago and I love it so much!
The light sabre dueling is supposed to be far better because this is the period of the Jedi at their best. The 4 to 6 episodes were with people who were old Vader vs Kenobi or had little experience and training as with Luke in comparisn to these scenes
you were correct. back in 1999 one guy i worked with was reallyreally into swoerds and fighitng, and martial arts. he had done it hismelf. th e eold me ray park was a very experinced sword'sman and martial artists (darth maul)
I really hate how much hate the prequels get. Was that an ironic statement? I don't know. Anyway, I personally love the prequels. Mostly because of Natalie Portman as Padme Amidala, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and I also forgot how adorable young Anakin was! He was just so wholesome and cute and it's a sad thing to remember that he eventually grows up to be the iconic villain known as Darth Vader! I think that's another thing I love about the prequels. I love watching villain backstories! It makes them so much more interesting!
I saw the phantom menace when i was 14 and it blew me away and compared to what Disney did with the franchise its flawed but has an original plot. Also it had a plan come at me Force awakens.
South Park made great fun of that, Search for Memberberrys :-) episodes…
I don't know if you've seen it yet or not, but Blazing Saddles would be a great reaction video I think.
The original movies are based on real life sword play. In a real life situation doing some of the things done in episodes 1-3 would just get a person killed quicker. ESB is about as close to real life as it gets in the series.
If you really want to know who the effects are made, you should se a Documentary series on Disney+ called Light And Magic
You will the evolution of effects from Practical to CG.
I like this Trilogy!
After you watch revenge of the sith, consider watching the clone wars animated series, you'll thank me later
You definitely got water, till episode 3
Now this is pod reacting.
I saw this in a movie theater as a kid, and that was the first time I didn't enjoy watching a movie in a theater. Nowadays it's just funny-bad.
1. Of the prequels I like this one the best mostly for the POD race and the underwater sequences,
2. Jar Jar is mostly comic relief since we don't have C3PO
3. Liam Neeson was very busy with various productions at the time and was in huge demand and agreed to do this episode because Qui-Gon Jinn dies, and he won't be obligated to do more.
4. Devine intervention?
5. How Jar Jar becomes a "general" is beyond me.
6. It's easy to know why this one didn't start the series because of the lack of CGI back in 1977.
7. Of all the reviewers I have watched you were the first to notice the Queen switch-a-roo. 😎
8. Here's where you lose me. My ranking of the original 6 episodes: VI/V/IV/I/III/II
9. I watched a review of "The Force Awakens" but it's just a rehash so no Disney for me.
I don't know if you know the movie ET but George Lucas and Steven Spielberg each referenced the movies in their own movies.... in the senate you will see a congress of ET'S
Film gets a lot of hate but I actually think this is best of the prequel era. Your feeling is the opposite of what most think because the OT is normally seen as gold standard !
Yeah I think I’m gonna love all 3 of these !!
you need to watch LEON
Cant wait for u to see nr 3
I would not have joined the Jedi. Executing order 66 was one of the better things to have happened in these movies. If it were real life the jedi would have to be on the lookout not for clones but for one of those 3 letter federal organizations like the FBI bringing them down for the very real life crimes the order was actually guilty of.
You’ve already been massively spoiled by watching 4-6 first. C’mon man.
I’m watching how everyone else watched it growing up. On release
@@mrflickswatches Problem with that is George Lucas numbered the movies a certain way, even changing the name of Star Wars to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope in the early 80’s. He had the story planned out, more or less, from the beginning and waited until the right technology was available to bring the beginning of the story to life. Most people weren’t going to wait around for Episode 1 to be released, mainly because they had no idea what the hell was going or when Episode 1 was even going to be released, so just watching the movies as they were released was understandable. Now though, gotta go chronological.
It’s like watching Black Widow after End Game or (was going to put another Star Wars thing here but I have no idea what you have or haven’t all seen or what you do or don’t intend to watch), and this is something I’ve heard a lot of people saying, there’s almost no point in watching them because you know what happens to certain characters. Clone Wars actually has a fan made chronological order to watch because the show likes to jump all over the place, especially in the beginning. Look at this for example, Clone Wars was launched with a movie, but that movie should be watched 3rd, with the first 2 episodes being Season 2 episode 16 and Season 1 episode 16. Then episodes 3 and 4 are both from Season 3, and episodes 5-24 all go back to Season 1. Hell there’s one episode from Season 1 that you shouldn’t watch until episode 51, and there are only 22 episodes in each of the first 4 seasons, meaning that Season 1 episode isn’t watched until after you’ve gone through 2 full seasons plus a handful of other episodes.
It’s kinda confusing to type and read it out like that but the point is, the movies have numbers for a reason.
Watching the entire franchise chronological at this point, and I am including all movies and tv shows here, would be a massive undertaking though. Would probably take months for your average person to go through. And if you’re reacting to everything, probably well over a year to get everything posted depending on how many episodes of the shows you watch at a time.
Don’t get me wrong, you are more than free to watch everything in whatever order you want, it’s just far more enjoyable to watch chronologically because of the constant suspense of not knowing what is going to happen to any of the characters.
@@jjc5871 honestly I disagree... watching them in chronological order takes a lot of suspense out of it... you are ready would know the relationship of everyone in 4-6. Which is one of the best parts of those movies...
@@dabreal82 How does watching Anakin’s journey from the beginning take the suspense out of it?? If you start with episode 1, any time you see Anakin or Obi-Wan in any type of danger, you have no idea what could happen to them. If you start with Episode 4, you already know they make it through the prequels so there’s no suspense, tension, or fear for their safety whatsoever. The same goes for any other characters seen or mentioned in both trilogies, mainly Jedi because you already know what happened to them.
