Bro holy **** it worked. Had my 03 for like 4 years now and that's never been fixed until now, well I at least got the door panel off 😂 that's enough to get me stoked tho. Thank you!
Glad you got it open. Sorry it's so hard to explain but what you did was correct, and after doing that to several door lock/latches you finally figure out how to do it faster and not injuring yourself. Lol From the video you can tell it is hard to explain what you exactly did to get it open, you now also see how it was hard for me to explain. Ttyl
@@evolution2001 i didnt need to, taking the panel off and messing around with the handle/lock cables it eventualy started to work again weirdly enough its been fine so far
I'm having the same trouble with my Altima right now I can't get the rear door open took the panel off and messing around with the Handel but still now luck to get it open
Thomas Garcia Unfortunately, it’s relying on magic now. Like I said in the video, mine just decided to randomly unlock itself. Maybe after all the tapping and whatnot, it finally inched itself free. I don’t know. I was pretty much to the point of giving up and putting everything back together when it suddenly unlocked.

@Rose R, Impossible for me to say. There's a 10 year gap. Of the pictures I found online of a '15 Versa, the rear door looks similar, sooooo maybe? th-cam.com/video/rt6Njv6Vn-k/w-d-xo.html Also be sure that you check out the second video I made after this one. It's equally important.
My problem is with the front driver's door rather than the back. I've done a back door or two. Now to try the driver's door. Have not found any videos for that yet for Nissan Altima.
@@evolution2001 Getting the door panel off with the door closed is a big challenge. If the door is open I can get the panel off and take the door apart in a few minutes. I've been taking vehicle doors apart for 40+ years.
Just figured I'd update this topic...It looks like the OEM door actuators are good for about 200k miles or 13+ years. (Obviously, mileage is kind of an irrelevant stat on something that's not part of the drivetrain.) If you find that your door locks are not fully unlocking, meaning that you either have to lock/unlock a couple times to get it to fully unlock, or you need to get into the car through another door and manually flip the lock above the handle, you're going to want to go ahead and replace the lock actuator before it fails entirely. As it stands right now, my rear driverside door actuator has failed. So I'm in the same predicament again as this video shows. And my front passengerside actuator is not fully unlocking. So basically I need to replace the front passengerside ASAP and try to coax the rear driverside door open like I did the other side (in this video) and replace that actuator too.
Hi like you I have the same door problem Not sure how much a garage would charge, but my guess is around $200. On another clip the guy said the problem is the ball end of one of the cables just gets disengaged, and all we need to do is push it back in? I am thinking of looking for a new lock actuator maybe some company or other makes one, cheaper than from Nissan. If you go down the road with this project can you post what you have done. Thank You
@@nottyash100 It's definitely not the cable being unhooked. You can tell it's starting to break because it won't fully unlock by the motor actuator, but you can still finish the range of motion manually. It's completely broke when you can no longer complete the range of motion on the lock. Thus it stays locked. I have the replacement parts from RockAuto. I'm just waiting for a nice weekend day when I'll have time to tear into it.
thank you for your update, I will copy what you have done, It is the rear passenger door, same as you showed. I will get the new parts from Rock auto. Again thank you and everyone else who have shown there hard work in working on this problem. One thought i have have had is as an older person if i get stuck in the car, this could be dangerous, as i am not young enough to climb out a window. if there are any lawyers out there and read all these comments perhaps it is time to complain to Nissan, to get repairs effected at their cost.? Again my thanks to all of you.
@@nottyash100 I don't think you'll get much traction trying to build a legal argument. The platform is more than 10 years old. Part failure is expected.
