@@nccatfishing i used one of those for years when i travelled around and hunted in different states. After sustaining injuries i had to go to the actual turkey chair lowrider. Just something that got me off the ground a little and i love it more than my blind or stand, which i really dont even use. Got me 2 doe this weekend with it in the same sit.
@@want2boutdoors274 yeah there’s something about sitting on the ground that makes the hunt so much more fun. We have plenty of stands but it’s rare that I use one now. Congrats on your two does also!
Was this recorded by phone or with a specific camera? Good video btw! Keep uploadin, I wouldn't mind a couple more of these hunting videos but with less music and longer videos! 💜💯👌
Everything but a few of the clips were shot with my a7iii and a 28mm f2. I may do more like this in the future and if I do I’ll share more of the entire hunting process in the next one. I would like to have shared more after the hunt also and put some emphasis on taking care of and processing the deer. This was such a last minute decision though and I had to read up on the rules for hunting here on TH-cam that so I was very cautious as to what I filmed. They are extremely strict when it comes to monetized channels that show weapons and hunting. Thanks for watching!
I’ve witnessed people hit but only wound deer with a couple holes. Too much potential to injure but not kill. Granted, I have also seen it done with high caliber rifles. I used to live and hunt in Des Moines before the opened the lower tier rifle seasons so, all there basically was, was bow and shotgun. I used both but with shotgun, I’d use slugs. Pretty sure buckshot isn’t allowed in most states. It’s really my own opinion due from experience.
@@huntinfishinwithDwayne yeah I can see how folks could be against it. You gotta use the right size shot, choke and barrel and not push your range when using it. Should always be 00 or 000 in my opinion. Ive lost count on the number of deer I’ve killed with it and thankfully I can say I have an almost perfect recovery rate. I really can’t remember losing a deer with buckshot when I really think about it. I’ve actually never killed a deer with a high powered rifle. Always shotgun, muzzleloader or bow. Unfortunately a lot of people try to push buckshot and that’s when you get the wounded deer more times than not. Definitely helped trail some deer shot with buckshot that should have never been shot at due to the range or situation. Those type of hunters though will push their limits regardless of the weapon they use it seems though. Just gotta know your limits and stick to them.
@@nccatfishing i actually rushed a shot over last wknd. Our opening day was 12 Nov. Took a shot at the biggest buck of my life. Had to be pushing 200 lb or more. Big thick 12 point rack at 100 or so yards. Luckily was a complete miss instead of just wounding it. Got that buck fever, lol. I did end up getting a couple does
@@huntinfishinwithDwayne those are the best kinds of misses. Means you still might get another change. I’ve been there and don’t that myself though. First buck I ever shot at was a wall hanger. Actually was using a slug and shot over his back. He ran just out of range and stood there for a while looking around then I watched him make his way off lol. Heck my heart gets up even shooting at a doe. It’s all exiting to me. Glad you got yourself some does though. At least you’re eating good.
Sweet that spikes mad you got his lady!!
Lol right 😆
Great video!
Thanks buddy!
Nice doe. Like you said great for the freezer.
Thanks! Yessir, I’ll get many enjoyable meals out of her.
Great video brother. Been waiting to see this.. beautiful scenery brother. I love setting on the ground, well in my turkey chair.
Thank you! Yeah I’ve got one of the turkey backpack seats I sit on. Gives my butt and back a little padding.
