    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am an experienced crochet(er?) But was having no success with this. Until I realised on the return you crochet 1then all the rest is 2. Other tutorials said crochet 1 then 2 and repeat!! So I did!! Can't thank you enough.

    Thanks for the video! Makes the Tunisian crochet looks so easy and I’m now dying to try it out! Is it always a rule to use odd numbers or depending on the project? For example, if I wanted to make a baby blanket?

    Thanks for answering what size would you recommend

    • @Sepulchre_Gate
      @Sepulchre_Gate 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd recommend using a hook at least 1 and better yet 2 sizes larger than the yarn calls for . It'll help a bit with the curling problem . Also , the stitch makes a big difference .
      I do a modified version of the 'full stitch' with zero curling and it produces a nice soft fabric . The 'simple stitch' is very dense and not good for garments .

  • @TheMacawlady

    I actually found a fatter, shorter Afghan hook - makes it much easier. Mine is an old Boye hook, size 10, works great for me!

      Im not sure, so maybe someone on here can answer.

    • @neenee56
      @neenee56 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can. You make separate squares, each in the color of your choice. When you have enough squares, you can bind them together to make a lovely blanket. My grandmother many of them. :)

    • @Sepulchre_Gate
      @Sepulchre_Gate 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neenee56 You can also use an entrelac joining to avoid having all those squares to sew together .

    Thank you...finally got the hang of this. However, seems like no matter what I do, the stitches are too tight. Is there a certain type of yarn you would recommend for this type of crochet? Thanks!

    • @CrochetJewel
      @CrochetJewel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used worsted medium yarn, but maybe you could try baby fine yarn.

    • @Sepulchre_Gate
      @Sepulchre_Gate 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not a yarn problem , It's the stitch and the hook size .
      Go up 2 sizes . If the yarn calls for a 4mm hook then use a 6mm one .
      Also the stitch makes a difference 'simple stitch' always curls . However , I do a modified 'full stitch' that's very soft with zero curling .
