recently perchased a box of yarn work stuff and had one of these hooks and figured to give it a try becaue i had alredy perfected traditional crochet thx for the tutorial
this helps me so much! I have a Tunisian stitch placemat I'm working on and I couldn't find a video that showed me how to finish! yay! now off to make more placemats :)
Great tutorial I love to crochet but have not done any for years they did not have this stitch then I don't believe, so great in learning a new stitch, have been making dishcloths for Christmas presents
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am an experienced crochet(er?) But was having no success with this. Until I realised on the return you crochet 1then all the rest is 2. Other tutorials said crochet 1 then 2 and repeat!! So I did!! Can't thank you enough.
Thanks for the video! Makes the Tunisian crochet looks so easy and I’m now dying to try it out! Is it always a rule to use odd numbers or depending on the project? For example, if I wanted to make a baby blanket?

I'd recommend using a hook at least 1 and better yet 2 sizes larger than the yarn calls for . It'll help a bit with the curling problem . Also , the stitch makes a big difference . I do a modified version of the 'full stitch' with zero curling and it produces a nice soft fabric . The 'simple stitch' is very dense and not good for garments .
Yes, you can. You make separate squares, each in the color of your choice. When you have enough squares, you can bind them together to make a lovely blanket. My grandmother many of them. :)
Thank you...finally got the hang of this. However, seems like no matter what I do, the stitches are too tight. Is there a certain type of yarn you would recommend for this type of crochet? Thanks!
It's not a yarn problem , It's the stitch and the hook size . Go up 2 sizes . If the yarn calls for a 4mm hook then use a 6mm one . Also the stitch makes a difference 'simple stitch' always curls . However , I do a modified 'full stitch' that's very soft with zero curling .
So easy to understand the instructions! Can't wait to try!!

One thing, I made the stitch, but cannot figure how to do the Tunisian on a ring. Any pointers, please?
+Patricia Williams what do mean by a ring?
I'd like to make an heart shaped small earring on a hoop. Its a Red Heart pattern.
+Patricia Williams you want to email me the pattern so I can see and help, amyreneeray@yahoo.com

Thanks for answering what size would you recommend

I actually found a fatter, shorter Afghan hook - makes it much easier. Mine is an old Boye hook, size 10, works great for me!
Thank you ! it was a big help!
:)
I like this technique
can you use this to make patchwork afgan?
Im not sure, so maybe someone on here can answer.
Yes, you can. You make separate squares, each in the color of your choice. When you have enough squares, you can bind them together to make a lovely blanket. My grandmother many of them. :)
@@neenee56 You can also use an entrelac joining to avoid having all those squares to sew together .
hi, i love this stitch, but can you use it for place mats too?
+sure I think so fernanda guajardo
Very nice. Thanks.
Thank you...finally got the hang of this. However, seems like no matter what I do, the stitches are too tight. Is there a certain type of yarn you would recommend for this type of crochet? Thanks!
I used worsted medium yarn, but maybe you could try baby fine yarn.
My question is will you be doing more to Nesian crochet?
great video!
Nice 1 Thanks

th-cam.com/video/WVY_gC3JzrQ/w-d-xo.html
Thank you i love your videos!
Hi, could there be a written pattern of this pattern please?
What kind of yarn are you using? It looks much sturdier than what I've been using thus far. It appears to have much less fraying.
Red Heart or Impeccable
when looking for this kind of hook, what should i type in? (so, what is the name of this hook?)
afghan hook
Wer i vl get the needle of 10 inch to do blanket
How would you work in a different color with this Tunisian stitch?
pull your other color with your hook into the stitch your working on and continue on
I love it thank you
thanks
How do you change to a new color ?
+Jade Sak you could tie it off and add a new color or you could slip stitch it in.
HI all I'm wanting to know how to end a row
