Grandma, I want to thank you because after 40 years without crocheting, you gave me the taste to begin again to crocheting cuz you are first a good teacher, slowly teaching so less stress for me! And you don't only teach or show granny square but others patterns! Thanks a lot!
I've watched several of your videos and if I would have had a teacher as wonderful as you 60 years ago when I learned to knit and crochet, I would have enjoyed it a lot more. She was horrid but out of spite, I learned and have continued in my love of these two arts. Even after all these years of doing them, you are still teaching this old dog new tricks!!!!!!!!!
You are the best teacher and your voice is very calming. I have listened to other people and they do alot of non informing talking while the teaching and it makes it difficult to learn and follow. You are most awesome. Thank you you are a beginners dream teacher.
I have been a crocheter for years but just got hooked (pun intended!!) on Tunisian crocheting. Your videos are fantastic! Thank you so much for your detailed explanations and thorough videos. I am beginning to get much more comfortable with Tunisian crocheting.
Not only are you gifted with crocheting but also explaining in great detail how to achieve any stitch. I've just found your channel and have been binge watching your tutorials and loving every minute. I can't thank you enough
This stitch is so pretty. You have a great way of explaining and showing how to do it. I just love your videos. Thank you for all you do for us beginners. It makes sense!❤️❤️❤️
This is the third video I’ve watched on the smock stitch and the first one where I didn’t want to cry because I kept messing it up somewhere. Thank you!!
EXACTLY 💯 The third video & I was about to give up & cry til THIS video came up...now have an actual smock stitch sample...this day is not a failure after all, LOL 🏆🌹🥳
Glenda, I have been looking at several people's tunisian smock stitch and you are the only one who does a "two under the hook yarn overs" and actually tunisian purl the two simple stitches together with the second yarn over. This looks just like smocking in sewing! I LOVE it! SO PRETTY!! Thank you so much for sharing.
Great tutorial! I love how you show the winding of the yarn around the needle for foolproof results. I have fallen in love with the Tunisian method because of your painstaking effort at clarity...never rushing the student!
Also you are a very good teacher very detailed, I also like that you let us do the row and them come back at the last stitch, it's less confusing then those who make you watch the entire project. Thank you for that, I always check your channel if I'm looking for a tutorial on something.
Thank you so much for your tutorials watching you makes me believe I can learn a new stitch and do it with your Guidence through the videos 😊 so many people have videos out there that are useless
You are a great teacher. This one was a little tougher for me. But once I concentrated on what you were doing, by about the fourth time, I got it. LOL. It was that wrap around twice, I kept coming up with an extra stitch! Tunisian I think is not my thing. I prefer one stitch at a time. hehe.
Thank you so much for your videos. They are very clear and close up, so easy to pick up and learn. I don't understand why people are giving you a thumbs down. To them I say , just stay off Grandma's channel!
You are an awesome teacher I'm so grateful that you are kind enough and care enough to share your knowledge with us. I'm a grandma and I am disabled. I'm learning how to do crafting for mental health reasons I really glad I found someone like you to teach me. You are patient and clear with your instructions thank you. I learnt from TH-cam and now I can knit and crochet. My dream is to be able to knit a v neck raglan sleeve cable or simple lace sweater pattern for my profoundly disabled son who is very sensory and likes texture. The only problem I'm having is how to work out the pattern so that it continues in place and doesn't go wrong once I've decreased or increased on a row. I can't seem to work out which stitch to do next so that I can maintain the pattern. Would you be able to show me that one thing even if it's just a tutorial about that one thing on a sample I would really appreciate it and will be forever thankful. Kim from Croydon in London
Beautiful stich I am going to try this beautiful stich. Thank you for your videos you explain everything so well. You make trying new patterns so easy to follow. Thank you again!🤗
I don’t know how I kept making mistakes but I started at 11:00 am and now it’s 7pm. I really like this style so I’m not giving up. I have never made a mistake yet, and I have done many of your beautiful projects. You are the best and I am looking forward to many more. I don’t have a computer to print out the patterns so I rely on you to see me through. Thank you so much for your time. You have made me very happy.
@@mariannemillot4422 I think about a hundred. I think it's better to knit it than to crochet it, down to have to keep all the stitches on the crochet hook. You'll need a very long one!!!
When I first saw this pattern I was so excited, that I just had to learn how to do it. It is one of the most beautiful patterns I have seen in a long time. Thanks
Very pretty! It looks a bit like the Alpine Stitch. I have that on my crochet bucket list! I’m 55 and have severe arthritis, so I better get moving! I had stopped crocheting for 10 years due to arthritis, but I started again and am able to manage the pain. Anyway, sorry about that! Thank you.
Yessssssssss!! I just learned how to comment on Utube, just to message you!!! I've been crocheting my whole life, BUT just recently started following you, following your stitches, have finished 3 amazing blankets for my grandchildren!! I get each and every notification that you post!! Please keep up the great videos!! I love 💞💝💖❣❣them...
Yes, I really like this mock stitch I’m just learning Tunisian doing the different stitches so this will be about my server fourth stitch and I’ve just been making a little swatches
I want to thank you for this video! It helped so much bc I’d think I got it and the end wouldn’t look right so I’d watch it again. After several viewings I decided I needed to see exactly how you yo on the ends and finally, FINALLY I got it! My practice piece is a mess but my new work it absolutely beautiful! Thanks again! 🥰
Whoa! I need PRACTICE!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF PRACTICE!! Thanks for the tutorial! I'm just guessing but maybe I should start with an easier stitch! I did manage to get a number of rows done but I kept dropping a stitch. I will get the hang of it due to your wonderful videos!
Thank you so much for showing all your different stitches ,I just love looking out for your new stitches and learning. I get so very excited when I have learnt. A new pattern. Much appreciated Dee justice xx
Well, I got really excited when I saw this as I was given a blue plastic Tunisian crochet hook, provided with a woman's magazine about 50 years ago!! So I pulled it out with a flourish and it snapped. I think it had rotted over time. So, I have ordered a hook (they don't seem to have them in the shops over here. I'll let you know how I go. Your tutoring and timing are ideal for a learner so I was encouraged to have a go. Thank you.
Lesley Oliver Love it thought these things only happened to me. Can I suggest you look on Amazon. I bought a full set of hooks in a canvas roll for under £4 sterling and these were not the cheapest on offer either in fact I replaced knitting needles single point 18 sizes, double points same amount both also in canvas roll, crochet hooks in leatherette case all sizes and Tunisian hooks as mentioned total price for all 4 sets in beautiful bamboo under £10. Worth looking at they are lovely and smooth to use and good quality
Im glad I have found your videos. Trying to find patterns in N.Z is really hard. I have already tried 2 of the designs and found your tuition easy to follow. Thank you.
Really love your stitch of the week and you have been my greatest teacher because you explain everything so clearly and take your time when filming xxxxx
Can't wait to try this! I love Tunisian crochet and have done several blankets and shawls. The shocking will add a great texture to my next project. Thanks.
Glenda you are a really good teacher I have watched several of your tutorials your instructions are clear very easy to follow. 💐 I am currently in the middle of your summer rose afghan phew lots of cross-stitch on this one hopefully I will get it finished so I can start another project 😂
Oh yea, oh yea!! Thank you so much, Glenda, for doing this for me. Finally, I've got it. You are so wonderful to follow along with. I could not, for the life of me, follow the other demo. I so appreciate this. On to make my afghan for my granddaughter, which I have been waiting to do for awhile now. A million thank yous!! Hugs, Kim
I'm glad that you love it too. It's so much fun finding new things to try, especially when they work out. Ha! Glad I was of some help no matter how small.

Video has really changed my thinking that everyone crochets the same way. It's been interesting to see how differently people hold their hooks & yarn.
Great instructions! I'm going to practice with this and start a scarf this weekend. Thank you.
This is the best video I have watched for this stitch! Thanks so much!
Beautiful stitch! Thank you so much for the tutorial, found it very helpful, and very clearly instructed. Much love from bonny Scotland

Wonderfully done tutorial! Is changing color the same as in regular crochet? Can you carry the yarn up the side as with regular as well?
