    That is really nice. Hope you have more videos coming up (Tamiya, HPI Venture, etc.)
    I think it was a VW Polo that had these colours.

    I love Tamiya RCs and I have built a lot of them but I never liked the way the bodies are mounted. I either use magnets or velcro for all my RCs. Im building a Sand Scorcher right now and Im filling in the hood mounting hole and Im going to use velcro. But I love your paint scheme. It gave me an idea for my scorcher. Im going for Silver blue and gold.

    That is one COOL Paint Job!!! 👏👏👏😎 Really creative.
    ...i really wish that Tamiya didn't pre drill their Bodies. 😖 I've never owned a RTR (which is not a Kit), and really dislike body posts...
    Once you finished the stickers, she really looks great 👍👍!
    Just needs an interior. Thanks for a fun series!

      Thanks very much! Glad you like it :) the pre-drilled holes can be a pain if you don't install them on Tamiya mini chassis, but most cars allow you to use the standard holes in most cases

    • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks
      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just don't like Body Pins sticking through... I only use stealth mounting with Magnets, Velcro or Screws.
      I wish that the holes weren't there at all.
      Maybe aftermarket...

    • @polepositionrc9860
      @polepositionrc9860  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are Xuron hobby snips, the best ones you can get. Lots of copycat versions are available but these are the best quality! Thanks for watching :)

    I just watched your whole build one video after another today just finished. Thanks for the awesome videos! Have you played with it yet? What do you think of it? I just bought one yesterday 10/24/18
    I will hopefully have it Saturday. Do you honestly think it is worth the money? Do you like it?

    • @polepositionrc9860
      @polepositionrc9860  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this is a great little car, even better that it's 4WD, it's the only one that is (in the Tamiya range, anyway).

    I’ve never built an RC Kit would this be a good starter kit?

  • @ryanphelan37
    @ryanphelan37 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey I'm curious I haven't found any but I thought I'd ask does Tamiya make metal gears in case I want to go brushless on my MF 01 build

    • @polepositionrc9860
      @polepositionrc9860  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think a mild brushless motor would be fine considering the size of the gears, but a really high end racing brushless motor would probably not be good long-term. For what the car is designed for a mid-range brushed or low-end brushless motor would be fine I'm sure.

    Cool you put a personal paint job on it great project, a suggestion for a driver figure tho this video is 2 years ago the Tamiya Sand Scorcher has an interior kit, I just subscribed and started following you on Instagram I'm (rcintheworks) my profile pic is a Tamiya Formula E race car thanks for sharing your hobby 😎👍

    What is the best battery for the beetle?

    • @polepositionrc9860
      @polepositionrc9860  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't need anything special, so a budget to mid-range battery will be fine. Just make sure it will fit in the chassis and has the matching plug for your speed controller :)

    • @ericdeguzman9001
      @ericdeguzman9001 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@polepositionrc9860 thanks! One more thing though. So i can use nimh or lipo battery? As long as its 7.2v? Thanks again.

    • @polepositionrc9860
      @polepositionrc9860  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ericdeguzman9001 A 2S LiPo battery will be 7.4V and a standard 6-cell NiMH battery will be 7.2V, you can use either, just make sure the speed controller you use can use the type of battery you choose. All of my batteries are LiPo so I just make sure my speed controllers are set to the correct type of LiPo: 2S or 3S for example.

    Did you have any issues getting the front diff to work after closing the two left and right chassis halves together? Mine stops working when I join the two halves, and certainly not over-tightening. Any thoughts?

    • @polepositionrc9860
      @polepositionrc9860  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, just saw your comment! Hopefully you've sorted out the gears, but I didn't have a problem with the gears after joining everything together. You just have to be patient and if you have to get a little help when putting it all together.
