I believe that the WW2 Tiger tank was also difficult to maintain. Never-mind, a splendid job as always and an enjoyable video to watch. Thanks for posting. All the best, Regards.
Being pedantic I know but it`s a bevel box not a differential as there is a fixed output ratio to a single output. OK a couple of times you did call it a bevel box 👍
On the very early R1250GS they specified 220ml unfortunately the early final drives weren't vented so blown FD seals was a common issue hence the change to 180ml to alleviate the pressure. The later FD were vented so you could use 220ml, I alwaays stuck with 180ml regardless. I think you may need to remove 40ml.
If this video is intended to be a tutorial it is a poor one. No torque wrench in sight (no wonder brake calipers fall off), the splines where not cleaned and greased, no water proof grease applied to the bellows where it meets the drive shaft/final drive housing. Please do better ☹
I was watching a video on TH-cam when I saw your channel. I noticed one thing: Your video views are decreasing. Then, I researched your channel and found that your video's SEO score is very bad. As a TH-cam expert, if you can do SEO-friendly things for your channel and videos, like searching for tags, hashtags, descriptions, and keywords, then your TH-cam channel and videos will develop rapidly. If you want, I can help you grow your TH-cam channel.
While at it, I would have checked the condition of the drive shaft and greased the spline at the gearbox end! 😮

Awesome work mate!
How tight were those rear wheel bolts? Supposed to be 60nm.
great job as always lad keep up the great work
That top bolt is listed by BMW as single use. I don't know if that's because of the thread lock or if they stretch.
@@TheDervMan I reckon threadlock, just clean it and loctite.
👍

BMW refers to it as a final drive. It is not a differential.
@@livewire.. A chain and sprockets is also a "final drive", I didn`t say it was a differential so what is your point?
@@paulcharlton2353 I was agreeing with you - stop being a child.
I have a 1990 airhead that requires BMW Staburag white grease to lubricate the splines - is that not necessary on these new bikes?🕊️

Just a question could you use a syphon to suck the oil out
You wouldn’t get all the old oil out using a syringe or syphon.
Differential on one wheel 😂😂😂
Anyone know why the bevel drain plug is at 9 o'clock and not 6 ??
They couldn't have made it more complicated, bad design. I can do my VFR in 5 minutes.
