I love love love that Kathleen ignores the price of a product when reviewing the quality and performance of the product. She also has no qualms about recommending a drugstore product over a high end product. She is still so real and down to earth despite being a youtube celebrity.

You should seriously do an ask Kathleen (advice vids). Like people ask you makeup advice. Por ejemplo "hey Kathleen I have blue eyes and they're very pale so without makeup they don't stand out at all. They look super tiny. How do I make them pop or look bigger with no makeup makeup?". lol k that's a horrible question but ya know what I mean!
I don't think that's possible... In order to make your eyes look bigger, you'd have to put mascara on both the bottom and top lashes. And in order to make your blue eyes pop, you'd have to wear a brown eyeshadow.

Kathleen, if you go on the real techniques TH-cam, they've done a video on how to use their sponge. You're meant to use it dry. It's meant for a fuller coverage application to use for liquids and creams. Don't know if that will help?
You're missing the point. You should try using it as directed with the intended products before critiquing it and dismissing it as crap. Of course you're going to think it sucks if you use it WRONG. She is simply suggesting she use it as intended. Have you used it as RT suggests? It amazes me how people use products wrong or use things meant for a different skin type etc. Pure ignorance!
you are my absolute favorite beauty guru on youtube. we have the same taste in pretty much all products (like for example, I love literally every lip product that you wind up loving and I always lean towards warmer tones for eyeshadows ), plus we have the same issues skin wise (my skin is also sensitive and dry) so I feel like I can trust literally everything you recommend. Every time I've gotten something that you've supported, I haven't been disappointed. and on top of that, I'm also cuban. I just can't describe how much of a role model you are for me. you're the best kathleen, please never change.
I had the same problem with the real techniques sponge but with the miracle completion one! I ordered it first a few months ago and loved it it had all the qualities you said... So i ordered the two pack and both didn't expand and were do hard and not enjoyable at all :( Seems like they're cutting some corners...

And no matter how much I wet it, there is no moisture to it. It is super dry and doesn't apply foundation right. Same thing with the diamond one. I think they changed them or something
I bought the pack that has the pink one, two purple ones and an orange one. they feel pretty normal, I got them for Christmas though so I guess that's why mine feel normal?
I used to love the RT sponge. Then I repurchased the 2-pack. It was totally different! Not fluffy at all. I still had my old one and was able to compare the 2, felt like a totally different sponge. They also did a terrible job applying my makeup- it was lifting product and didn't seem to blend anything. I actually emailed RT and got a kind of flippant response that nothing changed. BS. I'm sticking with BeautyBlender now. BeautyBlender does last a lot longer so I guess I justify their price that way. RT even at their best didn't last nearly as long.

I have become a lip moisturizer/chapstick hoarder. I have applied over 20 different items on my lips since this extremely crusty lip phase; to include vitamin E oil (works pretty good) and First Aid Beauty lip treatment in the small pod thing, and that feels good too but this Almay by far has been the best for me. I know everyone is different but this for me is perfect! Walgreens is having the sale right now, buy 2 get 1 free on all makeup products but when my daughter went to her walgreens they did not have Almay products. My Walgreens does.

I would seriously appreciate if you made a video all about eye makeup brushes! I get so overwhelmed with the 50 eye brushes that gurus use in their tutorials and I don't know which ones to use for the look in going for!

Oh actually that white chocolate chip palette looks like it would be good for office looks! I'm very fair and cant use half of most pallets because they're just so dark I look like I got punched in the eye. I might check that one out, but yeah it's very muted and would be kinda boring/redundant for anyone that likes very bold eye looks.
I love the White Chocolate Chip palette. I agree with the rest of you, it works best for fair skin. I also have blonde hair so I think these lighter shades are more flattering. Usually the reason I decide not to buy a palette is if there aren't enough light shades. Dark shades overwhelm my features. And for that reason, I'm glad Too Faced kept that in mind with this release.

Yeah I agree. Not really for glam but good for everyday natural wear and you can take it with you everywhere, easy for touch-ups. But nothing bad with the formula or the product, right? Just the colors.
Phileene Peagch I returned it because it was soooo small and the formula was NOT as good as other too faced shadows. I returned it and got a small tarte pallette and I'm so much happier. The pans in the chocolate chip pallette are TINY!

The dual ended expert sponge from Real Techniques is supposed to be used dry for maximum coverage. The orange side for foundation, and pink for cream contour and highlight. I just saw the video from Sam and Nic cause I didn't get the difference with the regular sponges
Hey Kathleen...you probably won't even see this but just in case...1. I find that it's really important to shake my liquid lipsticks before each use because when I don't some of them will apply weird or get crumbly and 2. That Real Techniques sponge is apparently supposed to be used dry and it's for a more full coverage look. Just wanted to share : )
I honestly wondered what happened with that pallette. It seemed like a lot of people on TH-cam were hyping it up and then it just disappeared. I guess that's why. Everyone still praises modern Renaissance though. I always thought they looked pretty similar minus the heavy glitter row.
Sera Olearain Try washing the sponge well with soap or shampoo before using it for the first time. It worked for me and now the sponge feels like the old one. They may have left residue of some chemical while making them.
Sera Olearain I spend a small fortune replacing my RT sponges every few months. I think I'm going to go with a Beauty Blender next time, the RT ones just don't last. My last two are ripped and have developed black dots on them (I'm not using them anymore, just haven't tossed them yet)! It's awful! I'm over it.
My issue is the fact that my sponges rip. And elasticity doesn't exist. I was washing them in the shower today along with my eco tools one. And one of the RT ones when squeezed out just stayed squished into the ball I made when squeezing the water out. That was 12 hours ago at 10.30am. Just decided to look and see what it's like now. Still squished. Only slightly. Ounced back. Go for eco tools. I got two for the price of one in their pack. Small one is hard but doesn't lift product like some hard products do. Great for concealer. Tati giving me a gem yet again.

Have you ever tried the laneige lip sleeping mask? o: it's a korean brand that is sold at target but specifically, the lip sleeping mask isn't being sold at target. However, you can get it from amazon for like $16! I highly suggest it. I heard good things about it and thought it was a gimmick but i bought it and LOVED IT. All you do is put some on your lips like a lip balm and over night, your lips will be so smooth in the morning/next sat in general. Some people say hydrated (personally, not for me) but i do see a difference between using the lip sleeping mask or a regular lip balm over night.

I've never really liked them. The quality is inconsistent. I've had ones that are so soft they tear so easily. I've had stiff ones too. And I'm not a fan of the slanted edge. I wasn't overly impressed with the original Beauty blender either. I'm really loving the one from Ulta that comes two in a pack. So soft and bouncy and cleans so well!
I bought the sponge when it first came out a couple of years ago and it was perfect. I loved it to much and then I got the beauty blender and I wanted to get another real techniques one so I bought it about a couple of months ago and with in the first week it already had rips and tears in it. And I'm very gentle when it comes with my makeup and everything to do with it. Idk what happened to it and by the end of the month it was unusable.

Heather Rogers they make a world of a difference. Facial primers can add hours of wear time to your makeup and allow your foundation is go on so smooth and blend a lot better. And if you have larger pores certain ones will help to blur them. Eyeshadow primers prevent creasing and make the pigmentation of the eyeshadows really pop as well as add wear time. Primers are definitely worth the extra step in your makeup routine.
Teresa Stevens that's a skincare issue as well as a primer issue, foundation used to not stick on my nose even with an oil control primer! But now I've got my skincare down and I've a pore filling oil control primer and my foundation lasts 12 + hours
Teresa Stevens I don't use them either but I have the opposite problem, my skin is too dry. Primers just make my foundation flake and peel. My skin gets tight and itchy. I just use a few drops of argan oil or jojoba oil instead
I am torn between huda beauty pallete and the modern renaissance pallete some says that huda's is not worth the money but some says that moder renaissance pallete is too chalky. But i still love their colour selections😭 Someone pls help! im still a beginner to eye makeup 😭
Cloud 999 I'd definitely recommend modern renaissance. the Huda pallette seems like overhyped Instagram BS, whereas I've met very few people who were disappointed by the modern renaissance pallette
I recommend the modern renaissance palette just because if you're a beginner to eye shadow the Huda Beauty palette has a lot of different textures in her shadows so it's not as user friendly for average consumers which is kind of a bust 😕
Kathleen the rt sponge isn't meant to get wet! It says on the packaging use dry thats why I never bought it but the miracle sponge is SOOO different now. SO hard and it doesn't work as good as my old one. please try the loreal pink sponge it is soo bouncy and makes my foundation look sooo beautiful!!!! I don't use the beauty blender anymore!

I love these videos because these are the ones that save me money, the beauty favs are circumstantial to skin type, tone and preference, but if a product don't work, its not going to be good for most people!
Idk if it's just me but toofaced shadows have been seriously unimpressive this past year or so. Like even drug store brands will have better pigmentation. I just feel like they're putting so much $ into how their products look vs how they actually perform. It's like a continuous disappointment with them 😭
Sarah Woodward make sure your moisturizer is oil free! I have issues if I use certain moisturizers... more often, the "cheap" ones. It might be an ingredient thing, but the ones that always give me issue are the ones that aren't oil free.
Sarah Woodward It depends on the kind of moisturizer you use under it, if you use a water based moisturizer and a silicone based primer, that's what causes it to ball up and vice versa Also, definitely pat it in vs rub

I have applied over 20 different items on my lips since this extremely crusty lip phase; to include vitamin E oil (works pretty good) and First Aid Beauty lip treatment in the small pod thing, and that feels good too but this Almay by far has been the best for me. I know everyone is different but this for me is perfect! Walgreens is having the sale right now, buy 2 get 1 free on all makeup products but when my daughter went to her walgreens they did not have Almay products. My Walgreens does.

Oh actually that white chocolate chip palette looks like it would be good for office looks! I'm very fair and cant use half of most pallets because they're just so dark I look like I got punched in the eye. I might check that one out, but yeah it's very muted and would be kinda boring/redundant for anyone that likes very bold eye looks.

I love the White Chocolate Chip palette. I agree with the rest of you, it works best for fair skin. I also have blonde hair so I think these lighter shades are more flattering. Usually the reason I decide not to buy a palette is if there aren't enough light shades. Dark shades overwhelm my features. And for that reason, I'm glad Too Faced kept that in mind with this release.

Yeah I agree. Not really for glam but good for everyday natural wear and you can take it with you everywhere, easy for touch-ups. But nothing bad with the formula or the product, right? Just the colors.

This may sound dumb... but did you shake the urban decay eyeliners? Sometimes if they've sat for a while, especially being shipped, they settle really bad.
The dual ended expert sponge from Real Techniques is supposed to be used dry for maximum coverage. The orange side for foundation, and pink for cream contour and highlight. I just saw the video from Sam and Nic cause I didn't get the difference with the regular sponges

Hey Kathleen...you probably won't even see this but just in case...1. I find that it's really important to shake my liquid lipsticks before each use because when I don't some of them will apply weird or get crumbly and 2. That Real Techniques sponge is apparently supposed to be used dry and it's for a more full coverage look. Just wanted to share : )
for the Huda beauty pallete it is said that for the foiled ones it's better to use your fingers I believe Huda recommends to use it that way

I honestly wondered what happened with that pallette. It seemed like a lot of people on TH-cam were hyping it up and then it just disappeared. I guess that's why. Everyone still praises modern Renaissance though. I always thought they looked pretty similar minus the heavy glitter row.

Sera Olearain Try washing the sponge well with soap or shampoo before using it for the first time. It worked for me and now the sponge feels like the old one. They may have left residue of some chemical while making them.
Sera Olearain I spend a small fortune replacing my RT sponges every few months. I think I'm going to go with a Beauty Blender next time, the RT ones just don't last. My last two are ripped and have developed black dots on them (I'm not using them anymore, just haven't tossed them yet)! It's awful! I'm over it.
My issue is the fact that my sponges rip. And elasticity doesn't exist.
I was washing them in the shower today along with my eco tools one. And one of the RT ones when squeezed out just stayed squished into the ball I made when squeezing the water out.
That was 12 hours ago at 10.30am. Just decided to look and see what it's like now. Still squished. Only slightly. Ounced back.
Go for eco tools. I got two for the price of one in their pack. Small one is hard but doesn't lift product like some hard products do. Great for concealer.

Have you ever tried the laneige lip sleeping mask? o: it's a korean brand that is sold at target but specifically, the lip sleeping mask isn't being sold at target. However, you can get it from amazon for like $16!
I highly suggest it. I heard good things about it and thought it was a gimmick but i bought it and LOVED IT. All you do is put some on your lips like a lip balm and over night, your lips will be so smooth in the morning/next sat in general. Some people say hydrated (personally, not for me) but i do see a difference between using the lip sleeping mask or a regular lip balm over night.

I'm interested in getting the orange real techniques sponge but as I was reading the reviews, a lot of people were complaining that they changed the formula and it wasn't as good as before. Any truth/experiences with this?
Jenniemc I bought the orange one a while back maybe over 4 months ago and it was really soft and bouncy and recently i just bought a new one again and it was hard as rock it didn't get soft or bouncy or anything so maybe they did change the formula
I've never really liked them. The quality is inconsistent. I've had ones that are so soft they tear so easily. I've had stiff ones too. And I'm not a fan of the slanted edge. I wasn't overly impressed with the original Beauty blender either. I'm really loving the one from Ulta that comes two in a pack. So soft and bouncy and cleans so well!
I bought the sponge when it first came out a couple of years ago and it was perfect. I loved it to much and then I got the beauty blender and I wanted to get another real techniques one so I bought it about a couple of months ago and with in the first week it already had rips and tears in it. And I'm very gentle when it comes with my makeup and everything to do with it. Idk what happened to it and by the end of the month it was unusable.

I've never used primers and I'm wondering what they really do and if they make a difference using them?
Heather Rogers they make a world of a difference. Facial primers can add hours of wear time to your makeup and allow your foundation is go on so smooth and blend a lot better. And if you have larger pores certain ones will help to blur them. Eyeshadow primers prevent creasing and make the pigmentation of the eyeshadows really pop as well as add wear time. Primers are definitely worth the extra step in your makeup routine.
Teresa Stevens that's a skincare issue as well as a primer issue, foundation used to not stick on my nose even with an oil control primer! But now I've got my skincare down and I've a pore filling oil control primer and my foundation lasts 12 + hours
Teresa Stevens I don't use them either but I have the opposite problem, my skin is too dry. Primers just make my foundation flake and peel. My skin gets tight and itchy. I just use a few drops of argan oil or jojoba oil instead

I am torn between huda beauty pallete and the modern renaissance pallete some says that huda's is not worth the money but some says that moder renaissance pallete is too chalky. But i still love their colour selections😭 Someone pls help! im still a beginner to eye makeup 😭

I recommend the modern renaissance palette just because if you're a beginner to eye shadow the Huda Beauty palette has a lot of different textures in her shadows so it's not as user friendly for average consumers which is kind of a bust 😕

Kathleen the rt sponge isn't meant to get wet! It says on the packaging use dry thats why I never bought it but the miracle sponge is SOOO different now. SO hard and it doesn't work as good as my old one. please try the loreal pink sponge it is soo bouncy and makes my foundation look sooo beautiful!!!! I don't use the beauty blender anymore!

Idk if it's just me but toofaced shadows have been seriously unimpressive this past year or so. Like even drug store brands will have better pigmentation. I just feel like they're putting so much $ into how their products look vs how they actually perform. It's like a continuous disappointment with them 😭

Sarah Woodward make sure your moisturizer is oil free! I have issues if I use certain moisturizers... more often, the "cheap" ones. It might be an ingredient thing, but the ones that always give me issue are the ones that aren't oil free.

It depends on the kind of moisturizer you use under it, if you use a water based moisturizer and a silicone based primer, that's what causes it to ball up and vice versa
