    It's a good job, I would have done it the same way. The purists would want to butt weld, but it isn't as strong as the lap weld, and I don't care how careful a grinder you are, the metal always gets thinned when grinding butt welds flush. Best result would be to inject some rust preventative onto the rear of the seam if possible, I swear by the Dinitrol products, but anything is better than nothing. For me, there is nothing wrong with tapping the seam down a bit before filler application, an extra 1mm of filler is negligible and it makes a completely invisible repair.

      I made both rear fenders like this and now I kinda regret it. I'm more annoyed that I now have bash the weld in and use more filler. I was thinking about dinitrol in the back seam before sealer also.

    I think your video may have answered a question I had while checking over my new to me GT6. I noticed this section had no drainage and wondered if it had been missed out when it was restored years ago. It seems it's correct without a drain ?
