Yeah, there was a few things i would have done differently, eg leave the tow rope coiled on shore and let it follow in. I cringed when i saw the boys right in the firing line while being towed out the pond. Thats how people get badly injured
I don't know if it was Alec, but when JH's mud truck flipped someone immediately said "How many were there?" Just, instantly the correct response. How many went under, how many have we seen surface? Doesn't matter who, act now, how many? Really A+ prescience and awareness of the situation.

Obviously, every wealthy person I've ever seen out in the wild was trying to drive vehicles 10' under water, running 7 second quarter mile times, and owning their own race track that hosts pro drivers, TH-camrs, and regular Joes who want to throw down in a burnout contest...
All I'm saying is money isn't the only factor or every rich guy would be out there doing whatever it is they love doing. Garrett just happened to have the job @1320, the charisma to gain a following, the money to continue until it became lucrative, and the *opportunity* to shine. @@cmusic52 its the bottom of a pond it's permanent mud and the water weight is now on the vehicle pushing it down I've seen this done with a diesel in a jeep that got stuck too so they went in a concrete pond. no mud.

Like James said - "to the ocean". Imagine they successfully got through pond, then they try lake, and then...the ocean. All the news channels filming, dramatically describing the event as Cleet giving his last farewell happily, so innocently, so brave, and then drives in the ocean. And that's it, he wasn't seen again...but only 40 years later driving out on the other side of the ocean, whatever continent it is. Absolute legend...what a machine.
I love the fact that this whole "we gotta drive underwater" thing WONT DIE! Its the greatest running gag/mission ever!

FORMER ACTIVE DUTY MARINE: Anything over a certain depth (don’t remember the exact number) we had to disengage the fan. This was to prevent breaking blades as well as bogging down the engine. Our HUMVEE’s had a switch. Hopefully yours does too. Good luck.
Im from the Netherlands and I bought some imported military Humvees and mines are equiped with fans switch. Our humvees were in use until 2019 in Iraq and Iran then shipped to a naval base in Norfolk

Just above the master cylinder on the flat area you see a brass color cylinder and two electrical connector ,one is for clutch fan., unplugging it will allow fan to stop engaging under water

Yep! I'll second that. In the Marines we drove HWMVEEs off the back of amphibious assault landing crafts into some deep ocean surf. You needed to engage the "deep fording" fan from the "vent" position switch to disengage cooling fan. If your unit wasn't equipped with the deep water kit it probably doesn't have it.

Am I the only marine screaming at the screen? @CletusMcFarland next to your right knee there is a lever that is a throttle lock control. Pull that when you’re underwater that is how we drive off of ships. Why has nobody told him that?
Used to change tires on them things in town here when the magnesium run flats were being replaced with new tech. I was screaming at the screen as well. Lol

The diesel smoke coming out of an underwater stack is pretty legit.
The humvee has a fan off switch. Next to the air vent controls
The rubber intake tube is collapsing under the water pressure , that's why he doesnt have throttle control and it is black smoking

i had same issue with throttle loss in my 6.5L, the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) went bad after getting it wet. Either that or pmd about to shit to bed... doubt its intake tube, it would completely stall in that case imo

Craigslist in my area has mobile airport runway strips. You could run them across the bottom of your pond and then drive the Hummer on those.

I contacted my governor over this issue 2 months ago. He contacted me back saying that he knew of the act, and it was introduces in a later year. He said he will help protect the motorsports industry understanding the history and business aspects.

Dude remember when you destroyed the original engine from Neighbor, you ran a hose to the intake and due to the vacum the hose was flat. This long PVC intake pipe is having the same issue. To solve it you need to push air into the PVC pipe, or, turbocharge the engine.
That humvee is a champ. Keeps runnin even when waters shooting out the exhaust
it needs some paddle tires or mattracks
to get thru the muck
After this is completed it would be cool to see the hummer turned into a trophy truck build and then raced

Garrett! Check out matt tracks, They make a track conversion kit for the humvee! They're located in northern MN in a town called karlstad, and I drive by their shop all the time and they actually have your exact truck on tracks already on display outside. Along with a smart car, SxS and even a box truck haha
It would give their little town of 900 people great exposure along with their business.
