Old fisherman adapting using his electronics and catching slabs. Absolutely love the way you fish. Keep doing what you're doing. Your fans love it. I actually like the summer time bite. Yes owning a boat can be expensive with maintenance, that's why I fish with a canoe. I like getting on the crappie and vertical fishing like you do.
Yes sir it's appreciated my dad and I spend lots of ti.e watching you and learning many techniques I have never seen before your kinda fishing is for me . I plan on getting a boat like yours same color and a good 4 stroke engine I have the trolling motor and my fish finders all ready but one day I will get the boat like yours keep on going buddy and we will keep watching and fishing as well.
Steve another great video - Thank you . Sorry I have been away at the farm & you know what when I was walking around with the cows/horses etc & through the orchard picking avocados & fruit I kept saying " look at That" - 'look at That" your saying has become my habit now. 😀😀 Cheers Denise- Australia
Really enjoyed this video Steve. It's was fun seeing your excitement from playing with that new toy you have. Even though you're a great fisherman, that livescope will still confirm a few ideas you had about fishing as well as teach you a new trick or two. Enjoy the process bud.
What's up old fisherman that's your boy The Darkknight Mr Ricky Cordova a I see you still doing your thing on TH-cam man you looking good out there man hopefully one day I can get back to Minnesota and use some of my body gardens I bought before I left I can drop it to the bottom where the big girls lay
@@theoldfisherman2040 I really appreciate you giving me knowledge on how to catch crappie in you neck of the woods actually I think you have one of the best shows on TH-cam I really like watching the shows in fact I'm going to go and watch with and see what you did today
Back in the middle 70's, I helped construct that lake. Near the power plant in the corner of the plant and big dam, there was an original pond maybe 50 or more acres. I worked for Clement brothers moving dirt and building many of the dams on the lake. Later I moved to the power plant under construction and was an iron worker. After the tubine plant was up and running, I sat on top of the reactor building many days on break and watched the turbine pumps fill the lake like filling a large swimming pool. After the lake was full, my friend Larry and I took my Jon boat all over the lake and we killed it. For some months we heard it was not legal to fish the lake as it was being stocked. I think that was a bunch of crap. Millions of fish were pumped out of the Broad river while the lake was being filled. I caught so many crappie out of that lake one with my wife until we almost had the limit. I told her that was a lot of fish to clean. It has been many years now since I since I fish Monticello. Now that cool weather is on the way, I am going to give it a try again. Jerry Hubbard, Irmo SC
In 1970 I started fishing it and it was loaded with crappie and bass. When the white perch got in there the white crappie and white bass started disappearing, the white perch eat a lot of the game fish eggs, that is why the DNR took the limits off of white perch and made them a non game fish.
Another fine day of fishing. I can see where live scope would be a nice tool in the old toolbox. But I'm like you, still like my humminbird. May have to invest in one of those just to see if i am wasting my time or not ! God Bless and take care my friend !!
Steve, with Livescope you really are a dangerous sucker now Lol... can you show a few screenshots of fish on the Clearview up close because it's hard to tell if it's fish or brush. The Steve great videos, appreciate you.
Steve I always see you fishing jigs, do you ever fish with minnows? And what situation would you fish with them. I live in Georgia, just retired in April, and I fish at least 4 days a week, and my experience here I catch a lot more on live bait, on days that I have no wind, I call them slack winds, on those days fish are not as active.
I have got several videos catching crappie on minnows. Most of the time they will bite minnows the best, I have got a minnow video coming up, catching crappie on Lake Murray next week. There is one more video ahead of it. Thanks my friend for watching.

Not that easy to do while I'm catching fish.

Hey Danny, when winds are light or no wind fish small jigs, don't forget about hair jigs!
What model of Minn Kota trolling motor do you have? Like I said, I bought a 1648 Alweld jon and I’m trying to decide which trolling motor I want.
It is 2011 power Drive V two, I added the spot lock.
Thanks, Steve. I was looking at the Power Drive and adding Spot Lock. It’s a lot cheaper than buying it built in. 👍
How far apart do you have your double rig
At least 12 inch and an even more at times
You don’t need it. You are a fishing machine!!!
I know I don't need it but it sure is fun to use, WHAT!!!!
New sub ! Liked 🙏😀
Thanks for the sub!
Tore them up again. You should think about guiding fishing trips.
Have done guiding trips 50 years ago, did not like it. Thanks for watching.
Can’t see the screen. I’m on my phone though not computer
Yeah having a hard time thought you would be able to see it better I will have to adjust my camera somehow
Fishing expsive in my Future
Thanks for watching.
