@balkons131 There's a 1975 version that is clearly transitioning towards Dogs. Look for Live at Boston 1975 posted by Mamagog666. There's something magical about the live Floyd performances; bare, stripped-down, meat and potatoes. There isn't a wall of production backing them up. It's just them; the true magicians at their craft and in their prime. This, Raving and Drooling, and the other tunes (Darkside of the Moon live and Wish You Were Here live) are the purest (and my personal favorite) versions of these great works of art.
Mind blowing song and I much prefer this version to Dogs. It literally takes you to another better place. Over 18 minutes long but it seems like 5 minutes and you don't want it to end. Very few songs have that kind of power. Echoes is another sublime example.

However, I'm glad they polished it up and made it it's own beast (Pardon the pun) on 'Animals'. Think this song suits a darker tone than what WYWH offered, the darker subject matter for sure.

David openly hates Roger, but down in his soul he admits Roger in his lyrical madness captured bit of Syd Roger openly hates David, but he puts Gilmour-like guitar solos on all his subsequent post-Floyd recordings, because he silently admits David is Barret's post-Floyd as much as he is Its almost perfect philosophical love-hate relationship

You gotta be able to narrow your eyes
You gotta believe they've gotta believe you
You gotta appear easy to see through
Gotta be sure you look good on the TV
Gotta resemble a human being
You gotta keep one eye over your shoulder
Gonna get harder as you get older
Gotta fly south and hide in the sand
Gotta forget that you're gonna get cancer
And when you lose control
You'll reap the harvest you have sown
And as the fear grows
The bad blood slows and turns to stone
And it's too late to lose the weight
You used to need to throw around
So have a good drown
As you go down
Alone
Dragged down by the stone
Gotta be sure, you gotta be quick
Gotta divide the tame from the sick
Gotta keep some of us docile and fit
You gotta keep everyone burying this shit
You gotta get you started early
Processed by the time you're thirty
Work like fuck 'till you're sixty five
And then your time's your own until you die
I gotta admit to a lot of confusion
Pain in the head is the child of collusion
Gotta resist the creeping malaise
You gotta believe in the way you get out of the maze
But you, you just keep on pretending
You can tell a sucker from a friend
But you still raise the knife to
Stranger, lover, friend and foe alike
Who was born in a house full of pain
Who was sent out to play on his own
Who was raised on a diet of shame
Who was trained not to spit in the fan
Who was told what to do by the man
Who was broken by trained personnel
Who was fitted with bridle and bit
Who was given a seat in the stand
Who was forcing his way to the rails
Who was offered a place on the board
Who was only a stranger at home
Who was ground down in the end
Who was found dead on the phone
Who was dragged down by the stone

This feeling that this is better then dogs tbh
I like it. I love being able to hear where the song came from. I think dogs is better & shows much more confidence from all four guys. But for live music this is incredible!
It’s much better than dogs IMO. An amazing song and for a live version it is amazing
@@eldubya7972 i legitimately think some so songs they played live was better then studio version. And usually its the opposite
@@Laughing__Emoji__ The music is on POINT. The lyrics needed improvement, and got it in Dogs.
This was the best thing that ever happened to me
15:35 is HEAVENNN!
This is perfect, honestly
I can understand why he said he had trouble preforming this song now. Christ at such a fast speed and this many words it's a pain to do.
Agreed!
This is just freakin amazing.I am waiting for my box set to arrive. I will not be opening it until Christmas time since it is a present. This soundboard audio beats the heck out of the audience recorded piece of crap that was floating around.Don't get me wrong the band did a good job of performing.
This is Amazing!!!
PINK FLOYD....THE GREAT !! THE BEST !!
excellent quality , ty for the upload.
THank You RastamanVibrations91 for uploading this. What an experience it must have been listening to this live. And like you, I too saw Roger Waters "The Wall" live and it was great.
holy canolli , DOGS , 3 years before being released on " ANIMALS " , DO NOT Let this classic fall by the wayside
thank you
Ive been listening to this whole night, repeatedly, staying awake and on mushroom/alco/hero combo and I think I got post-Barrett Floyd tiny bit right.
Both David and Roger tried to pursue Syd's madness, in their own way. David - musical, Roger - lyrical. Both failed, but also captured
This is why Division Belll sounds a lot like The Wall. David openly hates Roger, but down in his soul he admits Roger in his lyrical madness captured bit of Syd
Roger openly hates David, but he puts Gilmour-like guitar solos on all his subsequent post-Floyd recordings, because he silently admits David is Barret's post-Floyd as much as he is
Its almost perfect philosophical love-hate relationship
agreed except I don't think The Division Bell sounds anything like The Wall
@@elitesennabubbleOh, but it does. Heavy-hitter percussion, pomposity. Division resembles Wall even more than it resembles Darkside.
I think David respects Roger as much as Roger respects David, this is why he put out an album so similar in nature to Wall.
Regards (MT).
