Thank you for doing a review of all 3! Not a lot of people do comparisons of all 3, so it was really nice to see this review. Also, The Housemaid by Freida McFadden is one of my favorite books!
Great review! Thanks so so much. The Colorsoft doesn’t arrive here in Australia till 2025 and I can safely say I will not be buying it. If I lived in the USA, I probably would have bought it on the first day, but now I am seeing the benefit of sleeping on it haha.
I returned my colorsoft and got the basic and am much happier with it. What really frustrated me with the colorsoft was the page refresh to coloured pages. The book I'm reading has coloured chapter markers, and every time I turned to a new chapter, it had to do a full page refresh. I understand why they do it for images, but for highlights and small elements, the full page refresh feels so unnecessary. I'm also not a huge fan of the flush screen, and the quality control of the colorsoft seems awful (my unit arrived scratched, and the inter-unit variance for the screens seems huge (yellow band, colour temperature, ghosting, etc)). Coming from a 7th gen PaperWhite, the newer 7" kindles just feel too big to me, it's nice being able to take it with me in a coat pocket. I would love it if they released a premium 6" kindle with warm light and slimmer bezels or page turn buttons (voyage gen2?).
I can't be the only one who appreciates the greyer, darker screen of the Colorsoft... right? Like, contrast is cool and all, but the hyper focus on increasing it has lead to me preferring less sharp, less crisp readers like the Colorsoft. It's just TOO sharp, TOO crisp. I suffered from Migraines and headaches as a child, I still wear glasses, and as such, I think the softer and less in your face appearance is kinder to my eyes.
I'm thinking of returning mine. I do like the Dark Mode better on it because the text in Dark Mode is too dark on my PW 11 SE. I don't care for the light bleed on the edges when in Dark Mode on the Colorsoft. Also the yellow/brown tinge at the bottom of the screen is hard to unsee, even if it is light. I don't read a lot of graphic novels/comics, and I can do without the color highlighting.
Basic still uses older eink tech. And it is still a bit better on 0 brightness. If they make it with new tech next time and add warmth this would be the best kindle

I received the colorsoft kindle as a gift. And I absolutely love it!!! To me it’s worth it! Having color without eye strain is a life saver. 🎉🎉
Thank god, finally a video comparing the text with zero brightness. Finally. Thank you.

i love the size of the basic. i'm going to buy one.
@@mannypvd2296 Honestly I find myself using it way more than the others because of the size :)

What about battery life. I been seeing the colorsoft is not so good in that area with significant drops after just a few hours.
thank you for the comparison and making a video. have a great day.
The color soft seems so disappointing. Hopefully a future model will have significant improvements made.
Looks like the color soft has better than the paper white
I don’t want to assume your genders, but this is a good video, man!
"This is a good video." eliminates the need to assume :)
@@AnchorFTWor take it as a compliment.. Which is the purpose of the message
Appreciate it!
Was the Kindle color set to vivid mode?
Yes!
There's also clearly a yellow hue at the bottom of the Colorsoft.
its funny i didnt notice it until my fiance pointed it out to me. Needless to say I returned it lol xD
