Really hope this guy get the most out of it cause in 22 years of living i've never seen someone doing ''his job'' this well for others. 21:26 The exit is below the tunnel you were in. If you turn left toward the dragonfly, past where the mummy pops up, it drops into a room full of water and zombies. Immediately behind you as you drop out of the tunnel is a barred wall. US West: There are dozens of us! _Dozens!!!_ My recommended spells for single memory starter Warlock: Curse of Pain Power of Sacrifice Flame Walker Bolt of Darkness Hellfire Heelfire costs a lot of memory, but the first four can fit on pretty much any Warlock. Glad it helped! A friend of mine also taught me a ton of stuff that changed since I put 250h of playtime in (such as the squire) and I just wanted to pass it on :)
this is such an amazing video for getting started as warlock, I really really hope you can make this a kind of series for all the other classes since how you explain the class, the abilities, and what you're doing in a run is awesome! as a bonus note, pain of sacrifice increases vigor and strength, while vigor primarily boosts HP, strength does as well by a little bit per point. c:
Amazing guide! Loved how easy but still informative of a guide this is, tried warlock as my first and got absolutely mauled. But after this guide, it helped me a lot.
Dayumn, this is a very helpful build! I have played since beta but just got back now starting as a Warlock and I still learned a lot from this video. Thank you very much!
If you are actually a brand new total beginner do this instead. First passive take shadow touch because it will reward you with health for successful hits on the enemy. For abilities when you are just starting run Phantomize and Blow of Corruption. Phantomize is a get out of jail free card that will help immensely while you are learning to kite mobs incase you back yourself into a corner. Blow of Corruption is an instant win button. If you hit a single player with this they will most certainly go running, and if they don't you'll probably just quickly finish them. I only recommend that set up to brand new players because you have no business worrying about casting spells when you're still dying to basic skeletons. Once you've learned how to fight mobs drop Blow of Corruption and pick up spell memory. For spells slot Curse of Pain, Power of Sacrifice, Hellfire, Hydra and Dark Bolt. Once you have spell memory make sure you start running vampirism and torture mastery passives for the extra healing. At this stage you shouldn't be needing blow of corruption at all, most of your damage will be coming from your spells. Hydra and Hellfire can turn you into a PvE god, you can go to hell for the first time and comfortably kill every single mob by body blocking them with hydra and spamming hellfire. With the changes to magical healing you also only need an occultist hood and you can place your hydra, cast both curses (CoP/PoS) and heal for more than you spent to cast. At this point you only ever need to bring 1-2 health pots/bandages because you can infinitely full heal yourself with your own spells. I've hit demi in solo/duo/trio every single leaderboard on warlock using this strategy and it frankly turns the game from a scary dungeon crawler to a run around and have fun simulator.
@@Chillvein Make sure you always run an occultist hood for huge mag healing, currently I believe just running a blue hood is enough to profit heal off your own hydra. There's just no replacement for the hood. For gloves either go with Rawhide Gloves or Mystic gloves. Rawhide will give you knowledge which makes you cast spells faster and Mystic will give you more magical healing. Generally I just run Mystic because the more mag healing the better, but if you have a purple/legendary hood you could just run the Rawhide ones. Occultist boots are a must, they give Will and Knowledge which gives again more cast speed and also more spell damage with the Will. I'd aim for getting a double health roll on these or a heal/move speed roll. For pants I prefer Loose Trousers with again a double health roll or an extra mag power roll. The downside of Warlock is that you'll get steamrolled if you take any fight head on so I always build high move speed and just kite while spamming curse of pain. Chest piece I go for Occultist Robe, stacking max health is the most important thing you can do in this game and the Occult Robe gives vigor as a base stat. Any roll here is fine, +mag healing +will +health +mag power really just whatever you can get. Cloak just go Adventure or Vigilant. Adventure will give you more move speed and Vigilant will give you more Vigor, either is fine. If you run the Vigor cloak i'd pick up Quickness Rings for more move speed, and if you run the move speed cloak i'd pick up Rings of Vitality for more Vigor. For neck i'd either run a Phoenix Choker for an easy source of true mag dmg or a Necklace of Peace for more health. Nothing beats stacking health in this game and it's Warlocks resource so it's important to be over 130 minimum. For move speed you want to be over 305 book out and 315 book away or you just won't be able to kite people. You can't take fights up close or you'll fold so building move speed and spamming curse while running is your only choice. In fights against fighters/barbarians I'd use phantomize as a way to kite instead of getting out of a tough spot. Curse them 2-3 times and once they get close just hit phantom to create enough of a distance that you can curse more without being in melee range. Stacking crazy high mag healing is cool, but you already don't hit hard so ideally you're focusing on getting +true mag dmg enchants everywhere you can. Jewelry is the easiest place to get true dmg. You'll see a lot of videos of people stacking 15+ mag healing but there's a point where it doesn't matter anymore. I can do the same stuff at 6-8 mag heal that they're doing at 15 but instead i'm stacking more true mag dmg.
dude i really dont think this is the greatest advice for new players, you kinda hype up the starting build talking about how boc is an instant win button but thats really not true at all, and actually misleading. I agree with the idea of simplifying the class's mechanics to make new players be more easily introduced to the class but actually the phantomize boc loadout is the hardest loadout warlock can play precisely because it has less mechanics to take advantage of. The simplicity of the build is a two edged sword because there are less tools at their disposal.

Hello, I have a question, the money only used to buy more equipment and nothing else? Why do I want to loot if all I can do is buy more things? There's something I'm missing in the game's loop?
You can also use it to buy more stash space. But yes - the core gameplay loop is just get money -> get decked out in high tier gear -> kill other players with that gear.
What perks up until lvl 15 would you recommend now as a new player as it seems torture is triple now? And would the spells still be the same? Thank you!
I recently started Warlock, I recommend the heal-on-melee one at first now. Leveling I’ve been partial to boost Dark Beam through shards and the like: you can use curses w/out to pull and soften up mobs, melee refunds health from spells and mistakes, and you have a Death Star ready in your pocket for offending player or dangerous mobs.
What build f2p player being on "no gear" side should be going in your opinion? Spell based seems to need a lot of stats like knowledge and magical healing for example so im not sure tbh if its good idea.
to be fair the Curse healing is not that item intense since there are dedicatet + magical healing items (the white gloves and the occultist hood or how its called) and knowledge while nice is not something you have to have a lot of Though you do suffer if something can stay on you like a rogue If you wanna be able to do even better with relatively bad gear going for Longsword can be top tier though you need to be realy good at parrying if you want it to be a equalisier and once you actualy have a lot of gear you usualy switch to a hydra lifedrain build from my knowledge
Lol - dont know if its a thing in dungeons and dragons! Which I think is what you're seeing me saying. D&D also stands for Dark and Darker - and yeah they did that on purpose.
@@SolomonDandD I just noticed that when choosing gear, you still chose gear that had -movement speed, that's why i asked. Another question: do multiple curses stack on the same target?
So I have a different tactic than most people who are min/maxing their kits. I go in empty handed and just put on items based on their sell value. Then when I get out I sell all of that and do a new squire kit. I only kit up when I'm going in giga-juiced to stomp other players. Basically the equipment slots I use as extra inventory.
I disagree with a bunch of choices. The shield makes you to slow. You wanna kite at all times learn it as fast as possible use a Crystal Ball instead find a Kris if possible. For skills you have to pick Phantomize especially early game. The amount of times I survived using that skill is insane. Literally the best perk if you dont have anything again especially early game (Imo the best Skill in the game next to Second Wind). Perks. I would 100% pick Shadowtouch over Torture Mastery first (Shadowtouch 1, Torture Mastery 2, Vampirsim 3, Curse Mastery 4). Helps with PvE and it heals you a decent amount every hit useful especially with a fast weapon (Kris).
@@SolomonDandD hmm I started dark and darker yesterday and im having a rough time lol, I saw the patch notes warlock got a heavy nerf all over it seems, maybe I stick to + 10 will at the beginning insteed?
@@SolomonDandD any idea why lifedrain sometimes just doesnt work? I hold the cast until the bar is filled, aim at a skeleton right in front of me, and nothing happens. what am I doing wrong lol
It seems everyone making a video about this class is using high level characters and not actually showing how you progress with the starter spells alone... I'm sucking at this game big time. Not sure I have the patience for this one lol But some decent pointers made.
Level doesn't matter if perks aren't equipped, there is no benefit then - that's why I'm using only one perk. Level unlocks the market, and gives new perk slots.
He has 9 points when he starts the run, you just pick up items with Knowladge stat on your run and expand that, put spells in your book regardless of your limit. Your level doesnt affect that, lvl 1 or 33 your base value is 9 for maic memory, its all in a gear.

Really nice guide
very imformative thank you got my sub !
Thanks, very nice done video
really good vid! nice one
any chance of an updated list because they changed torture mastery
Im gonna do a lifedrain build example. Lifedrain is better for everything other than god tier kits now.
I watched another guide that said that movement speed was king above all, thoughts on that? That guide also wasn't focusing on warlock.
That is true, even truer for Warlock than all other classes.
Thanks man super helpful
Anyone who is new, switch falcion to kris when you can, kris daggers are very good for locks
Kris dagger is a completely separate build. High move speed, and I'd recommend no shield as well then.
@@SolomonDandD this is true but that weapon swap could come in clutch in sticky situations
Agreed warlock melee if very hit and run, dagger would be great to have time for a few swings and a spell
Nice video bro!
great vid :D can you do bard guide next?
I can definitely do a bard guide soon. Might end up doing all the characters.
is torture mastery still worth it after they tripled the cost of all spells?
Yes, but you dont want to run it without vampirism and curse mastery
Can someone answer me, whats the difference between "curse of pain" and "bolt of darkness", and why isn't bolt of darkness just superior?
Bolt of darkness is a projectile instead of hitscan, and it doesn't heal you like curse of pain does.
But do I have to pick select Warlock if I wanna play Warlock or can I select something else?
Play what you want. My dude was just guiding you to one of the better classes to start with. He’s not your mom.
Do you still recommend Torture mastery now that it has been nerfed to do triple dmg?
Yes, but only if you have magical healing items.
@@SolomonDandD hmm I started dark and darker yesterday and im having a rough time lol, I saw the patch notes warlock got a heavy nerf all over it seems, maybe I stick to + 10 will at the beginning insteed?
Do lifedrain and hyrda instead. Start with the one that gives you 2 hp for a melee hit.
@@SolomonDandD Alright thanks!
@@SolomonDandD what spell to swap out for lifedrain? and what are the 4 perks now?
does vampirism still work with torture mastery?
Yes.
Fire tips! i would use this but I always freeze like a min in usually when im fighting a mob then when i unfreeze im dead :'((
Im not sure if there's a way to do it on steam, but I had a similar issue a while back I fixed by allocating the game more ram.
Realy helpfull film, i like it :D
Now the torture mastery skill triples the cost is it still good
Yes - but not on base kit. I'd recommend a lifedrain build for low kit now without torture mastery. Torture mastery is for high-gear warlocks now.
@@SolomonDandD any idea why lifedrain sometimes just doesnt work? I hold the cast until the bar is filled, aim at a skeleton right in front of me, and nothing happens. what am I doing wrong lol
Probably not 100% still, if your momentum is going still at all it cancels it.
@@derinderinderinderin2life drain is close range and hitscan
great video
Found out that hard way dont run into your own hellfire lmao
Thanks!
Should i use crystal sword?
Nah crystal sword is pretty bad now.
@@SolomonDandD I keep hearing its the go to for a BoC warlock though. No idea what to go with
It seems everyone making a video about this class is using high level characters and not actually showing how you progress with the starter spells alone... I'm sucking at this game big time. Not sure I have the patience for this one lol But some decent pointers made.
Level doesn't matter if perks aren't equipped, there is no benefit then - that's why I'm using only one perk. Level unlocks the market, and gives new perk slots.
How can you have so much memory like that. Like I have a warlock lvl 24 and i cant have more than 3 or 4 spell ? Thx for the video it was very good
He has 9 points when he starts the run, you just pick up items with Knowladge stat on your run and expand that, put spells in your book regardless of your limit. Your level doesnt affect that, lvl 1 or 33 your base value is 9 for maic memory, its all in a gear.
Level only impacts perks/skills. I'm just grabbing a bunch of high knowledge items as I play.
Knowledge increases spell memory slots
@@SolomonDandD Okok ty
@@painwheel_1337 ok ty
I need this :)
Why do we want gear score below 25?
It puts you in a different queue where everyone is below 25 as well. Whereas you could be at 30 and put up against someone with 1k gear score.
@@SolomonDandD ty!
16:05 yes, i wanna open BIG CHESTS, how can you tell ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why can I only have one character slot bruh
You have to upgrade the game to get all the features. The free game feels more like a demo.
