- www.makeyourownmolds.com/suga... -- This in-depth instructional video will teach you how to make a silicone mold of glassware and also how to cast a functional, edible, breakaway sugar glass in the shape of Martini, Champagne, Wine and Beer glasses. A sugar glass will hold your favorite beverage, crunch sweetly when eaten and break safely over one's head or when thrown in a fireplace. These distinctive confections have become very popular when used in cake decorating, especially with sugar bottles shown in the video, "How to Make a Sugar Bottle Mold." Sugar Glass, in the shape of popular glassware designs, can also be used as props in the production of movies and plays where the glass needs to be broken safely. Commonly referred to as "breakaway glass" the stage craft manager and/or prop designer can benefit greatly from the knowledge they will gain from this video. How to use Isomalt sugar to create sugar glassware is also covered with valuable information on how to use silica gel packets to preserve the shine and integrity of sugar glass for months. Sugar Martini Glass, Sugar Champagne Glass, Sugar Wine Glass, Sugar Beer Glass
I have to say, to all the people making rude comments, no one made you watch. Man up or woman up and find something else. Takes a really courageous person to make snarky comments from a computer behind an avatar. There's nothing wrong with explaining how to do something correctly so that anyone who would like to try can.
all these people saying this is stupid and that "they dont have time for this" do not understand this project. its art and it helps someone better learn the art of mold making and casting, this is a very valuable tool to know and can be applied in many other fields. i love the idea of learning not only to make sugar glasses but learning how to make the molds them self.
Rocco o, Thank you for your positive response. You are correct that there are many great tools in this video to learn. Have a wonderful weekend!
and because without them there would be no bottle kids :P
i had no intentions of making sugar glasses but the video and the technique were so intriguing that i just kept watching. Thanx for sharing.
+Bobby S Thanks!
+Dominic Palazzolo I love your videos
+Dominic Palazzolo what kind of products do you use for the mall, could you tell us ?
it's 2 am and I watched this whole thing
+KerbinoHD Exactly the same thing happened to me. Bizarre. Everyone seems completely confounded by how they kept watching. Must be hypnosis involved.

hi5 me2 1:20am
+circlehousePRO 3am, me too. wtf whats wrong with me?
i got school tmrw and its past my bed time
This demonstrates that you can do anything if you are not scared of putting in the effort. Every action has the extra steps to ensure the finished product is perfect.Fantastic!
this would be perfect for trying to scare someone into thinking you just ate actual glass XD
Yes it would!
Dominic Palazzolo so now we know how the freak show girl appears to eat the glass she just drank from!
I already eat real glass
This is literally the only reason I would make a sugar glass!
I don't know why I clicked on this, but I watched the whole thing and was thoroughly entertained for some reason.
Have watched this again & again, I do this kind of thing for work so it's a bit of a busmans holiday but there's something so soothing about it! The concise & clear instructions, the tinkly, 80s filler music, or the relatively high production value, I just love this video :)
blueribenaberry
Thanks!
I was thinking the exact same thing lol
These are the kinds of projects that have me appreciating the professionals rather than trying to do them myself.
I don't know why I watched this... but I couldn't stop.
me three
I'm not even 21 and I'm watching this
+clotheshoundforchicks And why do you say that?
+DashyProductionZ well it's a wine glass. Wine is alcoholic
clotheshoundforchicks And?
Why the fuck am I watching this
Rafael Leon It's because you play video games and rage all day.
Stale Bagelz Hey what is your problem? Mad?
Stale Bagelz Then get used to it, if not then keep getting mad.
Stale Bagelz I was talking to Rafael Leon.
Stale Bagelz Like he said. Also he sounds mad.
This was neat to watch. Honestly didn't think I'd sit through the whole thing, but I did.
wardrich mee tooo lol
the mold making is actually a test to see how much you really want a sugar wine glass
+sugar we're goin down memeing At least it's not a multiple choice test - or an essay!
your name is pepe af😏
sian said heyyy wow
+sugar we're goin down memeing sorry that was awful were is the exit
*short class version
*spends hour explaining why its a short version
That’s exactly what i was thinking🤪
If I could like this comment more I would.
I found the end of the internet.

No my dear boy twas just the beginning.
As long as humans exist, there shall be no end.
Thank you for sharing. My 8 year old scientist granddaughter loved your video and is trying to get her Mom to round up the ingredients for her experiment. Thank you for posting.
The Intro and the feel of the video makes it seem like I'm watching this in 1999, interesting
Lol same
+Mirko De Marchi same XD LOL
More like 1989
The woman biting the thing at the intro had me laughing for hours.
Javiera Solar she spilled whatever was inside all over herself
that was a man.
@@Snoigel He has stubble aswell. These 2 morons... Smh.
I honestly have no idea how I got here but I actually watched this entire video like I was in a trance. I have thoroughly been educated on how to make a sugar wine glass.
I feel like people could be thoroughly entertained by this if they like just smoked a blunt.
I like you.
lmfao
I really was. I dont own any of this shit but watched it. Made me hungry for rock candy tho
Lmfao! 😂😂
LilMercy305 what does that have to do with anything?
I watched the whole video and actually enjoyed it... why? Why did I do that?
+Jorge Andrés because you probaly like sugar, i know i do.
same...
+Jorge Andrés I'm feeling the same.
I did too.. and I learned something. however, I have a feeling it may have replaced something I will need later in life. someday I'll be fighting a hoard of zombies, racking my brain for solutions to stay alive and all I will have to offer is a pretty sugar casting..
+Mariel Button me too except I think I will be thinking of how to turn glass into an ugly fish... I blame TH-cam..
Really amazing! Thank you for your video :)
I remember when i was a kid i saw video about magician eating glass ..this video open my eyes for the lies i believed when i was a kid
your childhood beliefs are
(⌐■_■) shattered
tohopes yes its was lies after all lol
"Shattered" nice one
The ones where they eat light bulbs are real, actually. I can't remember it exactly but it had to do with the type of glass and the way it breaks down that lets you crunch it sideways and eat it.
@@headlessgorilla869 The secret basically is to make sure you never move the glass in your mouth, you just sort of gently "coax" it around. Glass cuts through a slicing motion, but if you keep it between your molars and keep gingerly crushing it, you'll eventually reduce it to what is effectively sand.
I actually watched that video every second. I enjoyed it
Adam Vandegrift
Thanks Adam
Excellent... I've been looking into making my own sugar glass for film projects. Thanks for the superb tutorial!
Peacefully Stay,
-Jeff
Use alcohol diluted with water to clean the glass, not "soap and water' Soap leaves streak residue.
Sea Hawks Also, he leaves no register marks in the mold. the first cut made with the knife should be a randomish zig zag so that the mold will always line up. the deeper cuts should be straight down.
Nelson Mandela OMG JHAHAHAHAH I HAVE U ON MY FRIENDLIST ON CSGO I KNOW U :D
iBullGod 1 wot
I stumbled across this video and ended up actually watching it because molding in general (aesthetic and functional pieces) interests me. I understand this video was made in 2011 but the music reminds me of being in school watching an educational video in the 90's. I watched the entire video because this is one of the best tutorials (on any subject) I've seen. Clear audible consistent speech, good explanations, and a clean & proper work station made the video; even with the 90's music. Thanks for the content. I will be checking out your website you and asking about molds for non food grade functional purposes.
+Timothy Haun
Thanks Timothy!
Thanks for the tutorial! I love mold making but have never experimented with food or sugar. The glasses are beautiful!!
Chloe Gianna Thank you!
This the best Thanksgiving dinner prank ever! Thanks for posting this👌🏻😉
why does this look like a 90s VHS video? Who still uses a 4:3 video recording device???
TheCheungDan I 100% thought I was watching an old video before he pointed out the annotation :P
TheCheungDan Video was made 4 years ago.
Are you telling me this isn't a 90's VHS video?
+Sup Boy
Oh right, the 90s was 4 years ago.
+Michael Donnelly 4:3 television wasn't obsolete 4 years ago, back then flat screens were way more expensive, i recently bought a flat 32" screen for only 170 bucks, brand new, HD, and HDMI entrances and other lots of shits
something so satisfying about this that I can't stop watching it...
I haven't seen more meticulously explained step-by-step video on youtube. Well done!
How did I get here?
It was fate
I read your comment and realized I can't remember how I got here either... o_o
quantum dots.
Jay Levi fate!!
Lol.. Yeah this is something I want to invest in for parties...
why the hell am i watching this at 4 in the morning?
5;13 here lol
legit same
livvy barnes
lol its 4:10 here, another day that Im still up this late :/
You don't know how many times I've gone back to this boring video but it's like a craving I need it kind of feeling
I can't say I'll ever attempt this but I found the video highly relaxing and entertaining! Definitely a cool product!
Great vid. I just subscribed. This can be used as a prank. Betting someone you can eat an entire glass without cutting your mouth. Great idea. Will be visiting your website. Nice work.
i wanted to try and eat a sugar glass. i watched this video and how easy this is and i decided to eat a real glass
Thanks for the recomendation Nami.
I watched the entire thing. I'll probably never attempt to make one of these but this guy is really good at it and is a pro.
Aint nobody got time for this
***** i may be a homo, but i ain't even got time for this
couldn't have said it better
Yes, instead of him saleing the kits he can sell the molds.
Raquel AN Raquel, I appreciate your input. I will have to look into that idea.
Dominic Palazzolo i actually like the idea of making my own molds, its fun and makes for good conversation. i could see the real industrial application for just the molds but this kit gives me a fun project for the weekend.
1:41 in the morning. What am I doing with my life? I should get it.
Wonderful presentation! You're a really captivating speaker and I love the end result too. I may be purchasing one of these molds.
so the sugar in the wineglass had nothing to do with the sugar that later became the sugar wineglass? It was the isomalt that became the wineglass. The sugar was only to fill it with something.
I thought most of this video was so much work, but it turns out most of the work is making the mould! Can you use it multiple times? Do you have to clean it after to make sure the other glassware stays perfect? How come it has to be stored airtight? Great work, by the way! you really put a lot of effort into this!
QueenofPancakes5260 Of course that most of the work is making the mold! What'd you expect?
Yes, you can use the mold multiple times, it'll take quite some wear and tear before it falls apart.
If the mold would sit somewhere for a long time then I'd certainly give it a light rinsing (and perhaps wash it with soap too), but if not, then I don't see a point in washing it on a constant basis.
The final products are made from sugar, so if you wouldn't store it in an airtight container, insects (all sorts of bugs, especially ants) would find it in no time.
+CoolKoon I think the air tight container is more to combat the humidity in the air than the bugs. Hence the reason he has the gel pack in there, It removes the humidity inside.
+Andrew Gooding lol
+Jonas Sommer cool

Idk know how i got here, but now i know how to make a sugar wine glass.......
Thanks dude when I get one I’m going to make a lot of them
Bravo! Lovely execution.
11:09 that's one jacked-up thumbnail!
Hey I got an idea of a prank with this sugar glass. So go in a restaurant act like u r really hungry and thirsty, drink from the glass and cause u r really hungry eat the glass as well in front of people. They will think u ate the wine glass but it was a sugar glass
A very interesting and engaging video I thumb up! Thank you for sharing!
I’ll probably never do this because I have a job and it looks extremely time consuming. The detail in the mold and glass making process is beyond impressive. I would have liked to see a chocolate glass as well. I can imagine women love sipping chocolate, vanilla or strawberry drinks out of them. Really cool
could you just sell us the finished mold ?
+Angcoy Crisologo We are looking into ways to make the finished mold more cost-effective for us to sell, but for now, we only sell the materials to make your own.
+Dominic Palazzolo ha ha, just open a factory in china
+Angcoy Crisologo agree
+Dominic Palazzolo If you did do that, then you would get 70% more sales. it's a lot of work for something novel that most people would prefer to buy already made...
look into 3d printing
You must REALLY want to make sugar glasses to go through all this.
lol like sugar glass making obsessive compulsions
Making it for my 16th birthday 😭😭
Awesome xxx love love love. Thank You so much Xx have learnt alot
Awesome!!
I love it!!
I'll bet everything in this guys underwear drawer is numbered and cataloged LMAO
I never thought of that, I might try that. Thanks for the suggestion!
You're quite welcome
Cutting the zig zag pattern help keep mold easier to put together right?
Oh dude that looks cool!
Sup Boy
Thanks!
2:16 "And if you want, you can actually eat the glass. Like that! So you can see how fun this can be".
Right there and then you got me, pal!
very interesting. :)
TheVegetarianBaker
Thanks!
Well done vid. But I entirely fail to understand the purpose of sugar glasses ...
Hi Alfred,
Many people use these for props and other projects. Thanks for your input!
maybe a prannk
Shiloh Johnson
Yes you could use it to prank someone!!!
that's what they use in the movies, all the broken windows and glasses and etc.. all sugar..
Kasha Jackson Yes, Kasha, some use for props in movies, plays, cakes, etc.
Thanks!
This is not the weird part of youtube..this is the creative part of youtube.. :)
excellent video x
"How to make."
(Buy my shit)
Seriously, and even then most of the things are just HERE BUY ME THING THATS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FOR A 4x PRICE INFLATION.
I don't know how something can be so interesting and so boring at the same time. Dude... you really need to learn to loosen up and have fun while being educational. That said, I gave it a thumbs up and a sub because I like the content. Good job!
Absolutely amazing! :D
Thanks Valencia!
Wow! Now I see how complicated it is to make sugar wine bottles, etc. for movies. Perhaps someone would use for party's or catering. A fun thing to watch...sooo much work+++++
hmmmm... what should i do today... i think... I THINK ILL EAT GLASS! OMNOMNOMNOMNOM
And now you can do it safely!!
haha skydoesmc bear grylls mod :D review. Now in real life XD
yes someone got the reference :D
skydoes minecraft!!!!
Really Cool. I think demoing with wine is kind of weird, I mean no one wants to taint their wine/beer with sugar. However if I were a restaurant owner I could make a very memorable desert with chocolate versions and fill them with moose, creme brule, fruit, etc etc.
+GunnerMan23
Good idea!
Sounds super easy!
Are you being sarcastic?
Absolute talent.
I can't believe they just skipped over the whole 5 hours when the mold was curing. SMH
***** lol... did you really want to watch that part?
Ultimist "Watching paint dry/molds cure" the video series
+KGiustOD I for one am disgusted. I gagged. How are we supposed to know how to let the mold cure if we don't see it? Major downfall of this video. I tried to do this at home and failed miserably because of this. There was sugar and silicone all over my floor and my cat ate a piece of it and choked to death. I am currently talking to lawyers about pressing chargers against this so-called Dominic the meatball breath cat killer.
John Forrest it's ok, just make a cast of your cat. It'll be good as new.
.
You should use edible food coloring to color the sugar in some way
Alex Jansen
You can use food coloring gel.
Thank you! I didn't know this was possible! Yahoo!
Cindy Clark
Thanks Cindy!
This was really cool. Nice work
actionfigure awesomereveiws
Thanks!!
Don't they use this in movies because it breaks easily?
Yes, sugar glass ware is often used in theater productions and in movies because it looks so real but it doesn't hurt anyone!
thought so thanks
This looks like this was made in the fucking 90's!
Dude this is awesome!
mynamemaycontainAtoZ
Thanks mynamemaycontainAtoZ!
This is my first time watching your channel and I think you are a great chef and ignore the haters because they do not know what they are talking about.
Thanks Stefani!!
+Stefani German same 4 me
Misaal Khurram
Thanks Misaal!!
5:04 WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH YOUR THUMB
ARE YOU OK???!!!? DOES IT HURT OR WHAT
yea
+TARTED PEANUTS thanks for that -_-
i was happy not having noticed that
You can also use sugar glass for theater And films if you need to smash glass on an actor/actress saftley
plumster33
Yes you can!
Dominic Palazzolo What did you do to your thumb at 11:11?
I haven't personally done it but I have seen it done and it gives great effects
plumster33
Thanks plumster33
I come back every year when I need to relax
This is so awesome!
Thank You! Check out our website for more!!
Put some VCR Tracking lines in this, 1989.

+Leon Wunsch
Lucky?
+Leon Wunsch I have the same question!
My new summer project!
Great video man, really informative
I didn't know youtube was around back in the 80's
Is this from the 90's?
He said to click on an annotation so... they captured the 90s and brought it back
Cool video, I liked it, and GREAT PRACTICAL TIPS😀😀😀😀😀
Great job!
Morellio Benoir
Thanks Morellio!
.What am I doing here? It's past 10:00 and I have mid-terms tomorrow. I don't even do molds. Please help.
+Scuffify- hope you passed your mid-terms!
The title and whole video comes across like some 80s informational video.
wasted 17 mins and 3 seconds of my life
4 seconds
Rekt
+infamousxx you watched the whole video, so you wasted it yourself!!!
+Samantha Schäfer I was curious just like anyone else, troll much...
17 minutes and 4 seconds
That is really cool.
2:37 To skip 2 minutes and 30 seconds of 'this is a short video'
could I do this with resin to make a bottle?
+legofanguyvid
