"here are the things we got beat up by... maybe you did too" I love the way Brian speaks he always seems to think so hard about what he's trying to say to get it across best!
I returned to watch it again...it's a great window into songwriting, music making, recording, into life in fact. Funny that he was told he couldn't sing, when Fallon's got such a gritty and soulful voice, one that seems littered with everyday experiences. Excellent video, interspersed with the music they're making. Love this! Thanks for making it and sharing it.
Brian Fallon, His words are his paint brushes, My mind and yours are his canvas. I love the way he writes his songs. I can`t wait to see Gaslight, later this year in Manchester.
11 years late to this video but this album is my favorite album of all time, and they are the most underrated band ever to exist. the way they sound, the lyrics, the atmosphere, it's like an entire album dedicated to daydreams I've had about experiences I've never been through. idk man it feels like I lived a past life before and this was the soundtrack about that life.
That sucks man. Yeah, I saw them in Portland on July7th. It was amazing!! They played Here Comes My Man, and that song is incredible to see live. If you ever get the chance to see them live, TAKE IT!! They are worth every dollar. :)
I can't believe that the comments have been hijacked by the talk about the notebook! It doesn't matter! It's a pretty awesome video showing how they made an awesome CD!
that springsteen documentary it frequently shows bruce going back to his notebook, some idiots on here were saying he was trying to copy springsteen...which is rediculous, why fallon cant write in a notebook?.i know that writing a song in a notebook is hard i hate writing on paper it slows you down, and liek he said you end up changing shit, or even scrapping a good song. i was saying atleast these guys are a real band writing their own lyrics and music. almost 100% of the top 100 are puppets
I think Brian has watched "The making of Darkness on the edge of town" too many times: he talks like Bruce, whispers like Bruce and has the same notebook with the same mistakes as Bruce.
This is real Rock N Roll! so much better than Foo Fighters Thank you so much TGA for making the music that you do, it makes me feel I live in an another era ps: I'd die to have a great voice like Brian has
Hi. I am not saying Bruce invented the notebook but that two years ago from the 39th anniversary of darkness the package was a notebook and in the making of it was shown Bruce folding it. And the same here. Brian admires Bruce, it's not a bad thing, but I think they should be more "original"
are you kiddin me man? maybe he should have gotten a red notebook to save you from such a stupid comment.......most of the people out there are singing you songs some fuckin songwriter wrote for them.......i give them props that they hand wrote these songs......i think thats what they were getting across.....so what if darkness on the edge of town he used a notebook, every artist up until computers were big wrote their songs on paper......most of the real songwriters still do..so gfy!
I'm a very big Bruce Springsteen fan, but even I see that if Bruce does something he's not always the only one that has ever done it. Even he has copied from other musicians. Using notebooks to write your new lyrics is something that a lot of (good) songwriters do and always have done, so please don't think that Bruce Springsteen has invented it and Brian Fallon isn't allowed to do this. Brian Fallon isn't a copy of Bruce Springsteen, he's just almost as good as Bruce and from New Jersey.
I wish this was like an hour and a half long , I could watch it all day long

Brian has got to take care of that notebook! So that he can show it to his grandchildren!

9 years later... Less than 4 weeks till I get to see them again!!

So cool that Bennie is wearing some decedents! Awesome video!
Dont worry alex pal ur band WILL be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame! only a matter of time!!
TGA needs to make a documentary style vid about theyre band similar to this w/ shows/ in studio stuffs and life.
That would be Ian Perkins. Originally Gaslight's guitar tech, now rhythm guitarist.
I wish this was a longer documentary. :/ TGA is awesome!
Looks like everyone can't wait for your album. Even Lynne at the End Of The Oregon Trail..
