It Is Not Really a Carburetor on the TD-9 Dozer Motor Dec 30 2023

  • still have a bad voice but not sick. it was a good day on the TD-9 known as Kijiji as he is slowly going back together. the magneto and carb were explained today in this video. also remember these cats are not parade queens or used in the hot summer days (we only get 5 hot days of summer here). these cats have to start and run when it is cold which makes us about the only one who actually does that. so that makes our repairs or modifications very different here in wilderness alaska but in northern manitoba. thansk

    Mr. King of Obsolete, I had a Wico magneto on a 1937 inline 2 cylinder Standard Twin engine. It was a hand crank only engine, no rope start or electric starter. Both pistons went up and down at that same time together in that engine, not going in opposite directions. Lots of people say I'm crazy, but I saw it first hand. And I had a 7hp Wisconsin w/ a Wico Magneto I put a lawn tractor. The Wisconsin had a cast aluminum starting cup to wrap a rope around for pull start, but I could start it by just bumping it over compression. The Standard Twin could idle down so slowly the mag would click at each spark. Good units if you ask me. ben/ michigan

Bullet terminal lever brake switches from other makers are still out there, so alternatives if needed still exist...for now...
    The cat carb looks like a big brother to a briggs lawn mower engine carb. A question, yesterdays video you said there are shims on the front engine mount (mount to frame). That carb just needs to be simple because that engine is mostly run on diesel. I would guess that you might run it on gasoline maybe two minutes at most every time you start it. I think that I would of put a standard distributor in it and reworked the mag at a later time. That switch you are using looks like an old mechanical back up light switch.

    • @kingofobsolete4789
      @kingofobsolete4789  ปีที่แล้ว
