    This is the theme that was in use when I was born.
    "Wheel"'s closing during this time featured the Merv Griffin Enterprises logo on a yellow background with the copyright at the bottom, then the KingWorld logo shown over a shot of the set.
    Here's how I think they should've done it:
    Merv Griffin Enterprises logo on a black background just like it was on "Jeopardy!", followed by the respective KingWorld logo, then the copyright with this Wheel logo seen here on top and the copyright on the bottom all superimposed over a shot of the set.

      @@212Elevators it actually DID. it was heard on both the then (Daytime) version and in Syndication. Syndication initially started the track at 0:56 to differentiate itself from the Daytime show but I *THINK* by the 2nd season in '84 they started the track from the beginning like Daytime did.

      The 1983 theme has tapping during the introductory arpeggio but no noticeable harmony from woodwind instruments during the last three notes.
