One thing on walls I hate is graffiti but man that is superb what you got going on over there! I know art is subjective but I love all that, brightens up a dull bland wall and whoever is doing that sure has a talent, I wish I had the same. Oh I remember Tintin and the Smurfs but an interesting walking tour, cheers Alan
I think that they probably started painting these comics on the walls because of the graffiti. That way there is no more room for graffiti! 😉 There is a big history of comics in Belgium, so a great way to show it. Tintin and the Smurfs made their way around the world, quite an achievement I think! Thanks for watching and have a great evening! Kaat
Hallo lieve Kaat!

@@SetForAdventures I agree, when I hike I usually look down most of the time! 😜 In a city you have less rocks... But still, you might trip over something. In my case, I can trip over my own feet! 😂🤣
@@StepsbyKaatje lol 😂 me too 👍😊 all the best Kaat 😊
@@SetForAdventures you better be careful. 😉
Wow I had no idea this cool art could be found in Brussels! I feel like every city should have things like this, its really fascinating :)
It's a fun plus to all the beautiful touristy stuff you can visit in Brussels! 😉
Hey Kaat, really cool to go along with you there and great to hear of your comic days where all things were possible. I liked the Ringer one for some reason and oh yeah the Smurfs - we all had them in our younger years. Take care over there and have a great weekend. Mark
Those Smurfs were hard to find! I literally walked underneath them quite a few times on previous visits to Brussels. And now I had to ask...
I liked Rik Ringers as well. It has been a very long time since I read anything, but I do remember him.
Thanks for joining me and it was a great way to explore the city!
Have a great evening! Kaat
@@StepsbyKaatje You must have been looking at the ground Kaat to miss them Smurfs. At least you know now. Don't know ringer I just liked the piece. Yeah, cool tour.
@@WyeExplorer I usually look down at my feet when I walk so I don't fall down. I'm pretty good at that. Especially on flat and easy grounds! 😂🤣
@@StepsbyKaatje Hey, so long as you carry on bringing us great walks.
@@WyeExplorer I will! In 2023 it might be an adventure on a bike! 😉
So Entertaining to see comics on the Wall ❤
It was such a great way to visit the city. A fun new perspective! 😉
Hey Kaat,
wow, that's great: all the comic book heroes on the walls. The paintings are really amazing! You have the feeling of being able to step straight into the respective cartoon world. Of all the personalities you showed, I only knew Tintin and the Smurfs. I missed Astérix and Obélix. I practically grew up reading the Astérix books. But as they are Gauls, not Belgians, they might have their wall somewhere in France...
Thank you for the nice walk!
Martina
Hi Martina,
I love Asterix, Obelix and of course Idefix! :-) We have all the comic books of this serie at home! ;-) I don't think they are on the walls in Brussels because, as you said, I think they are French. But I also think they are becoming more international now, so it might come one day. There're still a lot of 'blind' walls in Brussels.
Have a great weekend! Kaat
Lovely artwork across the city. Fun that they put comic art across the walls of the city. All coming I'd be interested in learning about. If they had translated ones I'd be curious to read them . Grew up on Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts and many other Sunday paper comics! Oh I know the Smurfs! Lol love your song rendition.
We also had Garfield in the paper and of course the movies!
I do know about Hobbes and Peanuts. 😁
This artwork is really nice and they are still adding work now. If you have a blind wall, you can check if they want to put up a comic. 😉 Your wall has to be in Brussels... 😁 All the best!
@@StepsbyKaatje back again for another enjoyable comic journey.
@@AdventuresOfATravelingDon comics are always good to spend some time with! 😉
first time i see this walls :) cool idea 👍36
For me, some of the comics were new to me as well and most walls I had never seen before, so this was real fun!
Have a great evening! Kaat
Awesome footage. What a fun tour. I think everyone knows the smurfs. I remember one time I was visiting Europe and the kinder eggs had smurfs in them. I bought as many as I could while I was there to collect them.
Haha, that was a good idea. I think I might still have some blue creatures laying around somewhere! 😉
Did you visit Brussels when you were overhere?
Have a great day! Kaat
@@StepsbyKaatje No, I'd like to visit though. I stayed with a friend in the Hague for a few days then took the train to Paris. I got off the train in Brussels just so I could set foot there. I went to Iceland in June and have playlist if you want to check it out. No pressure. My channel can't be monetized because I post too much copyrighted stuff so really no pressure.
@@RoccosVideos Iceland is an amazing country! I'll try to check out some of your video's. Copyrights are a pain as is getting monitised. I'm still quite a ways from the 1000subs and even further away from the 4000hours... 😉
But as long as I enjoy doing what I do, I'll keep going! I already met so many great people along the way!
All the best, Kaat
@@StepsbyKaatje It was an amazing trip. Yes, it's important to do something you like. Channels don't take off as easily as they used to because everyone has one. Also I think TH-cam likes keeping small channels small. Thank you Kaat. My name is actually Michael. Rocco is my dog's name. Most people call me Rocco on here and you can as well or Michael or Mike work.
@@RoccosVideos Hi Mike,
TH-cam is putting on commercials on my videos and so they get the income from it... So they would be crazy to help me grow... Also, I should put in more time of actively looking for people who might be interested to see what I do. But don't have the time and energy to do so...
So for now I'm happy with 1 video that has 3K views and is still going and a short that went up to 2K in a day. 😉
All the best!
Kaat and Frodo, that's my dog! 😁
Nice and interesting document, congratulations for the video. Greetings from the Southwest of Spain. All the best. Fran
Hi Fran,
It was fun to walk through the streets of Brussels and look for those paintings on the wall.
Especially the Smurfs were hard to find!
I bet the weather is better in the South of Spain then it is here right now!
A good evening! Kaat
@@StepsbyKaatje Hi, well it's raining around here right now, but this is really good weather for us. All the best.
@@LaNaturalezaEscondida Here when it rains it's often cold and grey as well, don't like that... But on a hot day, it can really cool down!
Checking out your creation here of your comics tour. Full support and huge 👍🏽27💜🌿
Hi, thanks, it was fun to walk through Brussels in search of those comics on the wall!
Have a great evening! Kaat
🙏🙏👍🇲🇦
Thanks for your support! Glad to see you enjoyed it! 🙂
I love those with The Smurfs, I was a big fan of them when I was a kid :D
I can understand, so was I! 😉
There is a big history of comics in Belgium, so a great way to show it. Tintin and the Smurfs made their way around the world, quite an achievement I think!
Thanks for watching and have a great evening! Kaat
Wow TinTin, its my childhood favorite. Enjoyed the others too.
Wow, great to hear that this little guy made it over to you! One of my favorites was Tintin in Tibet. What was yours?
@@StepsbyKaatje It's the same for me. I have a complete set of Titin comics with me.
@@traveladvisorak6065 We have quite a few Tintin books, but don't think we have them all...
Hallo lieve Kaat!
Interesting building mural style...
I think it's great and a lot better then graffiti! 😜
Have a great great (hopefully not too cold) day! Kaat
That is so cool
Thanks, it was a lot of fun to look for them in Brussels! Thanks for watching! Kaat
I can watch it several times
Thanks, I'm glad you like it that much! 😉
Very Nice video ✌️✌️🔔👈
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed watching! It's really a fun way to explore the city of Brussels! 😁
All the best! Kaat
Hi Kaat, I loved comics as a kid. 😊 How’s it going? I hope you are keeping well ☺️
I read and reread a lot of the comics I had as a kid and when I was babysitting, I read some more... ;-)
I'm doing ok, went out for a hike last week, that felt really great. But I'm behind editing, so don't know when I'll be able to publish my hike on a grey day! ;-)
All the best, Kaat
I do not think we have such wall paintings where I live but I have never looked so I do not know, I will look harder next time I am in town, which is not often. ATB
I prefer staying out of town as wel, but I still work once a week in the neighborhood of Brussels and it's also the city were I was born and raised, so it will always be special to me!
So extra fun to look for things I don't know as well. I found out that I have walked underneath the Smurfs quite a few times in my life, never knew they were up there!
Have a great evening! Kaat
Groetjes, Kaat
Hello Kaatje, a great video. I love comics, as a child I went to the library once a week and read comics for hours. My father forbade me to bring them home...then I just read as many comics there as I could. Maybe one day I'll come to Brussels too. What do you do with a dog in Brussels?
Best regards, Martin
Hi Martin,
I think it's great to look them up when you're in Brussels. You can easily combine them with all the touristy stuff there is to see. Tintin is between the 'Grand Place' and 'Manneke Pis'. And the Smurfs are right out of the Central station. Just look up and don't walk underneath them without noticing them like I did quite a few times! ;-)
You can walk your dog in Brussels, there're some parks as well. And there must be hotels that except dogs. I don't take my dog into Brussels or another city unless I have to, but it's doable.
Have a great weekend. Kaat and Frodo
