    It's time to go down the Sevendust rabbit hole. They're absolutely incredible.They're still together and released an album 2 years ago that has some of their best material on it.

    Best kept secret in late 90s metal. Loooove Sevendust. First concert I attended. They opened for Megadeth before their first album was even released. Amazing live. Too Close To Hate is a must listen! Do it for Morgan Morgan!

    This band is AWESOME live! Have loved them since the beginning. Sevendust actually sort of pioneered that DRUMS and GUITAR all smashing at the same time thing. Morgan had the ability to follow the guitar riffs with his feet which was rarely heard at the time. Therefore they had one of the most brutal sounds when they came out even though most of their music is very melodic. They still tour. Saw them live about 4 months ago.

    They are still rocking 24 years later. Same lineup. "Denial" was from their 2nd record. They are set to release their 14th(I believe) studio album called TRUTH KILLER this June

    These guys performed for my unit in Iraq in 2007. I flew home for 2 weeks of R&R the next day and the whole band flew with us to Kuwait. Really cool group of guys.

    My favorite band. Seen them live numerous times. I have some health issues so I typically buy VIP tickets to their shows. They're always so nice to me and every other fan I see them interact with. Grateful to have fans. Talented as all hell. Great video. Glad you now know who Sevendust is. Welcome to the family. Subbing now.

    • @siikedonnelly
      @siikedonnelly ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I should add they're from the Georgia area, where I grew up. Saw them the first time, they were called RumbleFish, but I knew them as Crawlspace from the Mortal Kombat: More Kombat soundtrack.
      Some of their influences are Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, Metallica and Ozzy I believe. But they have many. Pearl Jam could be one too.
      And yes they are still touring. You should go see them. Amazing live band.

    Yup, they are definitely still a band and they are killer. They're actually working on a new album at the moment. Check out Dying to Live if you want to jump to something of their latest album. Praise is a classic older banger.

  • @genericwhitemale1114
    @genericwhitemale1114 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Their influences are Anthrax and Metallica to name a couple. They're still a band but they mostly tour on the east coast since they all live in the east coast except for Lejon who lives in Kansas (I think). They're work is fantastic. Even their new work is as heavy hitting as their old work. I'm not a fan of going to concerts but these guys and the country singer Charley Crockett are the only two I want to see live before I die.

  • @lc81002
    @lc81002 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Ahhhhhh I love Sevendust! I've seen them live several times and they kick ass. Check out the song they did with Chino from Deftones. It's called Bender. They featured an artist called Skin on a different track, called Licking Creme, and it's really good too. Lajon is pronounced La-John. And Morgan Rose is one of my favorite drummers. It's so badass that he can do vocals without missing a beat. The background screams (most of the backing vox in general) are Morgan, and he can pull it off incredibly well live. He's the one who actually founded the band.

    • @lc81002
      @lc81002 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And yes, they are still a band, still recording new music, still touring. 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I really like "Dirty" from their latest album, All I See Is War. It's a bit more metalcore than nu-metal like their early stuff.

  • @ferrisblack70
    @ferrisblack70 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    They actually got my career started. I was just a kid. Morgan gave me and Al a chance. He was one of the baddest drummers in ATL. I know for a fact that Lajon was a big Living Colour fan. The band he was in at the time was Body & Soul. They were amazing. Morgan was in a band named Stiff Kitty. Kinda a Skid Row-ish band. John was in Piece Dogs. Clint had come from the sickest cover band in the Southeast, Still Rain, along with his brother who joined Stuck Mojo. Everytime I heard them they got heavier. They became Snake Nation with my guitarist and then becane Crawlspace. I have to say they started nu-metal. Don't care about the haters, THEY started it. Nobody could touch them. Very good and humble guys, Brothers forever! Wonderful guys and a huge influence to me as a vocalist of one of my absolute favorite drummers. Thry hooked us up to open for threm nd it was the time of my life ands got my cAREER STARTED. fANTASTIC MEMORIES.

    Morgan rose is one of nu metals best kept secrets, he's such a gnarly drummer, you should check out some of their heavier songs like:
    Rumble fish
    TOAB
    Torched
    Splinter
    Some of their more melodic songs are:
    Waffle
    Xmas day
    Angels son
    Live again

    • @CaptainDugog
      @CaptainDugog ปีที่แล้ว

      Also relative to their influences
      LJ had this huge rnb sound to his singing
      Clint came from the east cost grunge and alternative scene
      Morgan played for some heavier metal acts in Atlanta, stuff That's either nu metal or hardcore
      Their other guitar player john is from the same scene
      And I'm not quite sure about Vinnie, however he does have the hugest bass tone dude, that thing clanks.

    Great reaction! Wait till you hear something recent. Sevendust is another of those melodic metal bands that rose up during the Nu-Metal era and managed to crank out solid album after solid album without changing their core sound much-This is off their second album. They are still touring and putting out albums. Check out "Dirty," "Decay," and "Not Today" for some newer stuff. Check out "Licking Cream" for an amazing duet between Lajon and Skin, another singer from the alt-rock band Skunk Anansie. Great catalog to check out.

    The higher octave vocals that you're hearing ARE Morgan Rose; most of these guys do backing vocals, but Morgan does the most (I think Vince is the only one that doesn't). Amazing drummer, and great pipes! If you want to get back into them may I suggest Licking Cream off this same album (Home); LJ does a duet with Skin from Skunk Anansie and it's very powerful.
