Midsummer Eve (Sankt Hans Aften) | Copenhagen

Copenhagen is in the middle of the summer. The parks are full, the fountains are turned on, the museums are open. It is a beautiful, if predictably Danish, time to be in the city.
Today is the longest day of the year - Sankt Hans Aften (midsummer). The bonfires, which are the most common form of celebration, are a pagan ritual to ward off evil that has lasted up to the present day.
This video will showcase the bonfire in the most popular area of Copenhagen to do this tradition - Ofelia beach, next to the Royal Danish Playhouse on the harbourfront in Copenhagen.
