Love listening to Irving speak and the reconstruction of the Ark to scale he covered in a dedicated talk, was really interesting given I live in a place where Coracles are still built and used, and an old friend Max was a Coracle fisherman. Recently though, an acquaintance who is a very highly skilled Computer Programmer, who has worked for the likes of Microsoft, IBM, etc, made an extremely interesting Observation, which may explain why Sumerian Scribes were very highly Trauned. He said Cuneiform is clearly a "Technical" Alphabet, and that the Sumerian language bore all of the Characteristics of a Computer Programming Language. Talk about things that make you sit up and Say Wot ! The Actual F*** ? A bit of a possible new tale on things from an extremely gifted with languages guy, in addition to him being such a highly skilled Computer programmer, who has created very useful predictive Linguistics Software that has provided very interesting insights now, for over 20 years. While it would potentially be very fruitful for him to meet with Irving, they have such similar personalities that could result in them coming to blows, it possibly wouldn't be the best of ideas, but would certainly be entertaining Viewing. Best Wishes to All. Bob. 🤔

The story that was preserved through history is the myth or wrong story is an illogical conclusion. And one coming to that conclusion is bias.
Once you apply the flood to ancient things then it all makes sense why they are buried and in ruins and had tech we haven't seen before. People living for hundreds of years are going to retain much knowledge.

Looking at the friezes and reliefs carved at Karahan Tepe dated from about 11,000 years ago, what comes to my mind is Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Just the fact there are six fingers on one of the man figures is a giant clue that some tablet/Bible stories are much much older than Sumeria itself. The way Karahan Tepe is laid out with all the ponds and channels for moving water screams to me a stage for the reenactment of the flood story.

That design can't be right. You would need a water tight craft to deal with a tsunami. Did they bucket all the rain out too? The story I read said it was submersible and water tight. I also say bs to full grown couples of animals on this craft. Baby animals maybe? It is amazing how much the stories changed over time. The sumerian version makes sense more than any.

The flood happened when Noah was 600 yrs old, the Tower of Bable happened when he was 940 yrs old. After the babbling of languages words, names and descriptions changed. So who knows if some ppl called him by other names besides Noah, could've been Gilgamesh, Poseidon or Neptune and so on, it just depended on where you grew up.

Well, both versions are wrong. While there was a lot of flooding and ocean levels rose considerably, the planets was not covered by water. One family were not the only survivors. And neither saved all the land critters. Genesis says 7 of each clean and two of each unclean. Globally about 50% of critters went extinct. About 75% of those in the Americas.

My great great great grandmother had a incredible recipe for dumpling stew, worlds best. She never wrote this recipe down, passed it along verbally to her daughter, as did 3 generations after her. Family and neighboring friends would often join for meals and preparation.
Many decades later a neighboring family produced a almost identical recipe(in written format)claiming it was an original.
Amazing how these supposed intelligent people are unable to make any other conclusion as to what was first.....because it was the oldest script found.

One question. I do agree with Dr Finkel's analysis. What remains is why a flood in Mesopotamia made such an impression. After all floods must have been regular occurences.
But if we look back with a view of climate change, then we know that 5-4000 years ago was a time of warming. The glaciers were melting and the sea levels rising. It is thought that the Mediteranien broke through the Dardanells about 5000 years ago filling the bottom of the Black sea with salt water leaving the top as fresh water. The salt water killing mirco organisms leaving them black.
So it is possible that the glaciers in the Anatolien mountains also were melting and it is a well known fact that sometimes melting glacier water creates a lake that is held back by a glacier dam. And when the dam break this caused devasting floods. The latest glacier dam flood was in 1996 in Iceland.

I'm not familiar with the areas you've mentioned, but I HAVE heard of the Channeled Scablands in Washington state (USA) which were cut by the kind of flooding you're talking about! I hadn't considered that the Great Flood story might have been (at least in part) based on stories, passed down through history, of such an occurrence. Since I have now retired (so my time is my own) AND am very fond of searching for answers to unanswered questions (via the Internet), I think it would be fun to chase the possibilities down a rabbit hole or two! Note the location of the ark as it has been allegedly found by Ron Wyatt is in a valley in the mountains of Ararat known in ancient times as" The Valley Of Eight". As there were eight survivors on the ark. Point here is to point to the fact that the star shaped map has eight points and eight circles with in the map. Maybe a coincidence but there are many coincidences that have to do with the number eight in this topic.

The Gilgamesh Epic's ark was absolutely dissimilar from the Noah's Ark About 25 years ago or so, some Midshipmen at Annapolis for their senior project, created a vessel similar in dimensions and design to Noah's Ark. Other Midshipmen created their own vessels. Their is a large pool to test out ship design. This large pool has fans which can create epic waves. There are flumes that can churn and swirl the water.
When all the vessels were placed in the water, the fans and flumes were turned on. Within a short time, every vessel including one made as described in the Gilgamesh Epic sank. However, the one vessel modeled on Noah's Ark was still afloat. They noted that no matter which way the wind was blowing and the waves were moving, the vessel always turned itself into the wind and waves. This proved beyond a shadow of doubt the superior design G-d had given Noah.
I always laugh when anyone tries to compare the ark of Gilgamesh with that of Noah. Clearly, the Sumerians were influenced by what they had heard from either Noah, or his descendants. This was passed down to both the Babylonians and Assyrians. It is interesting that there was a legend of a world wide flood on the earth as mentioned in later myths and stories.

Similarities can be found among many stories throughout history, it does NOT mean that one came from the other. This is the sort of thing that people use to claim that Christianity came from Egyptian ISIS, and other places even, because of the similarities. If the Hebrews believed it was on Mt. Ararat only because of these tablets, then why Genesis not say, Mt. Ararat? Instead of the mountains of Ararat? Then, he followed by contradicting himself.

The Bible clearly lists the lineages and ages of Adam and his descendants. It lists their ages in the HUNDREDS of years. NOT in the Thousands of years. now there may be a connection here but they do not list ages in the thousands of years in Genesis the way they do in the Babylonian texts. However, the connection is still there with the elongated ages and the point is very well made. This was an amazing presentation.

Noah's sons and his wives are from a previous civilization and the India, Chinese and black people and the native people of America are created after the flood, because their location is where they are now. for example, the ark stopped and Noah's sons multiplied, they literally did not go anywhere else, If we do not count America. Also, the descendants of Noah's sons are not very similar, because the wives of Shem, Japheth and Ham were representatives of a different race, and their children are also different, because both before the flood and after the flood, the earth was inhabited by completely different types of people. Noah also saved the pre-Flood races of people by marrying his sons to wives of different races.

Maybe it is as I’ve heard before an explanation of the variances between the Babylonian and Hebrew accounts that the intent of the Hebrew accounts was a cosmic polemic against the Babylonians. An attempt to set the record straight regarding events of the past that have memory in both culture but which according to the Hebrews were orchestrated by Yahweh and not Enkie? Or some such similar explanation is not possible instead of a wooden facsimile of another cultures traditions?

"To us, the ark of salvation seems to represent the geographical location where the chosen ones gather when the great perturbation is near, rather than a boat hand-built by man."
"Consequently, in spite of its apparent universality, in spite of the terrifying and long intermixing of the raging elements, we are certain that the huge catastrophe will not equally impact all places nor the expanse of all continents and seas. Certain privileged countries, as genuine Arks of rock, will shelter men who will have taken refuge there. There for one day, lasting two centuries, generations will watch - anxious witnesses of the effects of divine power - the gigantic duel between water and fire; there, in a relative calmness, at an equal temperature, in the pale and even light of a low ceiling of clouds, the chosen people will wait for peace to come and for the last clouds, dispersed by the breath of the golden age, to uncover the multicolored magic of a double rainbow, the brightness of new skies and the charm of a new earth."

Well, why is everybody questioning who wrote about the flood first?! The thing is both Moses and the tablets in Mesopotamia speak about the same event. If you look on Google maps right above where Ron Wyatt found the remains of the ark it is written 'Armenia' so, there you go. One thing that does not fit is it is not round, which probably is a translation glitch or maybe a modification of the tablet writer, given the tablet was written in 1800BC, that is about 450 years after the flood (the 4.2 kyear event). Another mistranslation is that the gods decided to wipe humans because they were 'noisy'. That should mean worldly, party seekers, entertainment focused, quarrelers, warmongers, materialistic driven wealth worshippers - like our society is today.

Im a Christian so yea Im gonna skew a little here. I recently watched this video with him talking about a Babylonian or Assyrian map on to how you could theoretically walk to this place and see the ruminants of the ark, as if it were real and actual.
This honestly means a lot and suggest that these stories are based in fact rather than fiction.
So if this was a literal thing you could go visit and see for yourself the idea that two stories that share a similar motifs etc isn't a matter of just copying on or the other. It could simply suggest that both had existed with these two groups of people, the Babylonians and Israelites, both understood this fact and event that had happened (noah and the flood) yet saw it in two different ways.
One could of been written in text before the other yes, yet one of these versions of the story could of existed by word of mouth and never been written. Maybe the Israelites once they learned to read and write in Babylonian figured they could document what they saw as the actual true story of noah and spread it to the larger populous of the world in their language.
Either way if you consider the hypothetical that the ark was a real thing, which honesty this all points to. You cant leave out the supernatural of an event like this, who told him to build the ark, how did he know to build such a thing, how did he know the world will flood? Of course you can be really superficial about all this and say it was aliens or he was incredibly smart or lucky/insane, but id like to think the most rational way to think of it is that maybe what the bible was saying is true. And in that fact if the bible is true, it stood the test of time way beyond the story written by the Babylonian and their version.

I understand before Jesus, there were 36 others who were born of a virgin, performed miracles, died on the cross, resurrected after 3 days etc. Mythra was one! Jordan Maxwell (RIP) can explain it far better than myself. Most stories in the Bible have come from older texts. Nice presentation here too. 👍

What's wrong is that self-appointed 'scholars' ask the question 'who copied who?' which is a preconceived idea and utterly wrong. The question they should ask is 'when did the event described by both sources happen?'
Moses wrote about it in around 1500 BC by divine inspiration and the mesopotamian tablets were all written after the 2250 BC event (known to science as the 4.2kiloyear event) and recorded in the king's list as 'who was king? who was not king?'.
Truth is out there waiting to be discovered, but you need to truly seek for it, not try to make your own truth...
