Very interesting how simple additions can change the final product in the cup. You are the master of gadgetry on live streaming coffee videos, Hoon. I just sit back and enjoy. Cheers, amigo.
I'm a long time coffee fan, I have an expensive machine and I learned to repair it myself if needed... I'm sceptical about those paper filters cause I do love every note in my coffee, the bitter, the sour, but I certainly love the oils, the texture and the body... and also, those filters are not very ecofriendly anyway... When I think of all the fabrication process, the transportation, trees being cut... so I really see no advantage to do that. All the youtubers that tested it live on their channel... seem to just say that it has a little less bitterness and sourness... and definitely less body... and I do think the same ... Like they said, it just makes it more accessible for the mainstream, cause it's a little sweeter... Anyways... Thanks again !! xx
i use puck screen without the paper, the taste is really great. I didn't reduce the dosage, so far it works fine without damaging the shower screen.
Me too, but I discovered that the portafilter basket which Breville barista express includes is lightly littler than other 54mm that includes on another portafilters (portafilters like he uses in this video)
Only had the express for a couple of months. To me for a good shot seems to be hitting the 9 bars of pressure, right in the middle, for a good tasting shot. If it is over extracted I'll remove the extra cremea/bitterness as Hoffman has recommended.
Did you ever try without the bottom oaper but with the puck screen on top?
What do you call the little metal gauge you use to verify the space left in the portafilter? I'm new to espresso, I noticed when I'm using the puck screen, I have a hard time to twist the portafilter. I have to remove coffee and redo, even after distribution and taping.
Is it better to make a single shot instead of double when using bottomless filter
Long term how do you like the screen
Hello my friend, what do you recommend 50 um or 100nm ?
Hello, thank you. Which puck screen for Robot Cafelat ?
I might try this. Thanks for your test video
about to try puck screen. not fussed about the paper
Im going to experiment with this tomorrow
Thank you Hoon. Best Expresso information on YT! Any plans to do De'Longhi Dedica? (EC885M Arte, or 6XX series also) It has 51mm basket.
Is discord link still available? This channel is helping me so much to navigate breville coffee making!
Hi there, may I ask where did u get yr 54mm naked portafilter with the wooden handle?
WHERE did you get the cups? Is there a link? For Germany?
My Bambino is likely high pressure but I don't have channeling issues and do ristretto shots... I laughed at Discord.will check out Discord
Love your videos, man
I need to ask you why when I use my bottomless portafilter It gets everywhere. It makes a mess
Not tamping hard enough
Hello! Can’t seem to get the discord link to work, anyone else seeing this?
Nice video i would like to try with paper filter.
You should! It works pretty good.
Will the auro press paper work?
They are different size.
Does anyone else notice the puck screen adding a bad flavor to your shots? If not, what are your steps to clean it?
I clean mine every week (with 1-2 usage daily) by boiling it with a bit of cafiza (or any machine detergent)
@Brandon Watson yes i also do that, after rinse with hot water i rinse again with tap water, the dry for reuse. Still showing lots of leftover fines when boiled
How do I let a friend join the discord? I can’t find how to share

What is the tool you are using to test the “level-ness” of the screen?
And where did you get it? Thanks!
@@jeffcozad4863 I think you are talking about the razor. The metal one comes with Breville espresso machines and plastic adjustable ones come with the separate Breville grinders.
@@harrydog6795 - Thanks! I’ve never seen that. I have zero experience with the Breville.
@@jeffcozad4863 The metal one is 54mm, plastic comes with 54mm and 58mm blades. Both can be picked up on Brevilles site when in stock.
@@harrydog6795 - That’s the tricksy bit, “in stock”. I didn’t see any when I looked and didn’t see anyone selling them on the secondary market. If I had the exact dimensions, it doesn’t look like it would be hard to make one.
Thank
The paper will prevent fines getting into the coffee from that crappy grinder.
Don't make a big deal out of coffee. Toss it learn how to make the
Basket my Polish friend
