The corner was already occupied, and building while threatening to sweep the opponent's base is both huge and becomes urgent to respond to. corner side center does not mean you have to approach everything everywhere. Enclosing a corner is big, but it's okay to let your opponent do so if you also get something big.
in a normal game you have 2 corners and your opponent has 2 corners. if you have 3 corners, theres no way you need all 4 to win, so go ahead and focus on other things. what are they going to do? reinforce the last corner that you dont need to win? its really obvious when you think about it, no?
@@dwyrin Thanks for the explanation, but it seems like the game has just as many exceptions to the rules of thumb as there are rules of thumb. Which is the hard part for me. Either way, in this case it makes sense, thanks.
the problem is im not clairvoyant lol. ive wanted to fast forward in some places but still found things to talk about later so i can never tell if i want to announce it or not
@@dwyrin It actually works well, I'm not sure you need to announce fast forward going forward! If you get complaints, just have a text overlay and it will save time, but I don't think you'll need to do that either!
