    I just did the process with mine. This channel's info was really helpful. In case anyone was curious, I spent $325 for parts. I spent $440 in various gov't related fees for application fee, title, license plate etc. I rented a Uhaul trailer to tow it to the local waste transfer station to get it weighed and that was around $40. Monthly insurance is around $50. It wasn't cheap by any means. Also, the in person inspection is no longer required, they used all the documentation and pictures instead of in-person inspection of the cart.

      Glad it helped! Yes you are correct they are no longer doing in person inspections.

    Why all the receipts if the gear is already fitted? Seems like a monster tax raising sceam. Was once told that similar tax raising schemes apply to cars that appear tv programs like "Overhaulin"

    Where can I find that bill of sale shown in the video? Can the bill of sale be written out?

      The bill of sale is usually written out by hand when you buy the cart. If bought from dealer it's basically the receipt.

    If I buy a street legal LSV in Florida, am I required to register it and carry the insurance for an LSV? I would rather just use it as a golf cart and not have to register it or use it on the street. Is that allowed and can I carry just the lower cost golf cart insurance on it?

    • @StreetwiseCarts
      @StreetwiseCarts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Florida does have a process for converting an LSV back to a golf cart in terms of registration. Otherwise, from my understanding once the title is transfered into your name you're required to register it within a certain period.

    Hi Paul, once your golf cart is converted to an LSV can it be driven on any and every road whatsoever in the state of Florida that has a speed limit of 35 mph or less? Also, are you allowed to cross streets at junctions where the cross street has a speed limit of more than 35 mph?

    • @StreetwiseCarts
      @StreetwiseCarts  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes to both!

      @@StreetwiseCarts What's the worst case scenario if you drove Your LSV on a 40 mile per hour road? If a police officer pulled you over and wrote you a ticket, what would the ticket be for? Could they seize your LSV for driving on a 40MHP road If I really wanted to?

      @@Coolcarting I would guess some sort of moving violation.

    Do the linked Amazon parts provide the correct paperwork for Florida inspectors?

    • @StreetwiseCarts
      @StreetwiseCarts  ปีที่แล้ว

      The compliance folks will want the address of the seller. We go over more details on it in the course.

    • @Silverplati
      @Silverplati 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! As long as you can get a legit invoice for the parts

    You mentioned the “packet” is taken to the regional tax collector office. Would this be like the Yates Branch in Jacksonville?

    • @StreetwiseCarts
      @StreetwiseCarts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It goes to a Motorist Serivces Regional Office. In Jax it's the one on Regency Square Blvd, which is also the Bureau of Dealer Services.

      Lots of reasons... cheaper than a car, no gas, fun, kids love em, etc. They're good clean family fun.

    what a bunch of nonsense of regulations. Its only about collecting some tax revenue. They already get revenue from gas carts when you buy fuel.

    • @StreetwiseCarts
      @StreetwiseCarts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Billy I think there are some parts of the process that should be omitted specifically for golf carts to make the process more straightforward. If you step back though, at least in Florida it's possible to make the conversion. Plenty of states don't allow a cart to be plated if it doesn't come off the factory with a VIN.

      @@StreetwiseCarts well rules are confusing at best in different areas. Most you only need DOT tires, headlights, tail lights, and a mirror and posted speed limit is 35MPH or less. You are converting them into titled LSVs.
