I never get alerts when you put out a new video! There are too many handyman and contractors out there that aren't very skilled. They think they can go out and just make a bunch of money not knowing how to do anything. I would never deter anybody, but your different, you are very detailed person, that picks up things quick and wants to do them perfectly. You're constantly learning and teaching yourself, but you've got skill. Some people just don't have the skills to do quality work, I've seen it over and over. So not everybody should go out and have their own business, until they can be knowledgeable, and do what ever skill they choose at a high level.
Listening to your content is like having coffee with an old freind. Always keeping it real. Your content is one of the main influences in me leaving my heavy highway construction job of 22 years, and doing my own thing...and I'm loving it!
To me there's nothing like it. I worked jobs a lot of times two at a time until I was almost 40 trying to figure the employee thing out. Leaving it behind was the best thing I ever did. I'm glad you're enjoying the channel, thanks for the support.
Help the youth?? Heck, your helping the old men that have hated their job for years, but stuck it out to raise a family. But NOW!!!..Started my own business, and making the plans to leave the plant after 27 yrs. Can't thank you enough ole buddy!
I'm glad to hear that it's helping. I waited until my kids were finished with youth sports and elementary school field trips to get started. My old job didn't pay much but it allowed me to get to be at all the events.
Great video, Daryl. I'm almost 39 years old, and I've hated the 9 to 5 model since I was 14. People talk about how difficult self-employment is, but honestly, I LOVE IT!!!! I can't imagine myself working a 9-5 for the next 30 years. But, it's not for everybody
I'm the same way. The 9 to 5 is not always a bad thing but it's not for everybody. I waited until I really didn't have an option but to go self-employed and I love it too.
Its simple guys , go to sleep early, wake up and smell the coffee , check your email, put your boots on and go to work. Oh yeah , write up that invoice and get paid . Before you leave ask for that Google review and say "Thanks for the work and keep in touch"
Daryl, I was a general manager for a major athletic footwear retailer for 24 years. My love of sneakers was what provided me with happiness. My distain for micromanagement and HR was what made me leave. I have some great and irreplaceable memories and am still friends with many of my former employees but I came to a realization that I prefer to be responsible for only myself instead of 20 employees. Additionally, it’s both challenging and rewarding to learn to do things that I’ve never done. Love your channel! ✌🏻
Management HR mess up everything. One problem is they think they know better than the employees on how to create a good working environment but they just stress everybody out. The cool thing for you though is that if you ever decide to bring on employees you already have management experience.
Dear Brother Daryl. Keep doing what you are doing. press on and help the youth. Help the guys out there doing "honorable toil". Get good at what you do guys , whatever trade that might be and you will get everything you want in this life. You will never have to sit in a corner office , sweat over financial reports and answer to an asshole boss,,,,you will be in a nice Ford F 150 truck with a tool box making money,,,lots of money ,,,free to work with whom you want doing what you want when you want. Press on Brothers,,,its worth the hassle. DD in L.A.
Unfortunate but true. One of the main points of this channel is that you don't have to be young or fit you just need some drive. Although those trades aren't bad to have lol.
God Bless you Daryl. Needed to hear this today. God's timing is perfect.

You've been putting out some outstanding content lately brother! I loved this one too.
Thanks, I appreciate that Ray!
Love that Coming To America clip. I loved that movie so much as a kid lol.
I don't know how many times I've watched that movie but it's still funny today.
@@DarylTheFINISHER 100%. There are so many memorable scenes. Always fun to go back and watch it.

A big part of what the channel is for is trying to push some of the young guys to learn a trade. Hopefully we can get a few to get after it.
preach unc !
👊🏾
The sad part is, most of the people complaining about work and not making a move don't want to get a skill or make a move because it's too much work.

The most I ever made was $50K at a job. The same job paid me a pension 20 times that. I left lots of crappie jobs until I got that one.
Yep, that's what it takes sometimes. A lot of people just settle for whatever they're given instead of going out to find what they want.
