In the lore they were basically massive portable oil rigs to get all the natural recourses out from the let vand zone so the amount of cash they pumped out made the amount used for building and maintaining them not a problem

I don't know about the length, but considering their leg is like 300 prison panopticons, their length is probably around 150 prison panopticons which is like 750 meters? (this is pure speculation, don't take my claim about earthmovers length true)

@@Moneytome large swarms of something endanger the subs that go down to the site are repelled by these cannons. Unless I got information wrong, one shot is enough to kill a single one and send the rest into a panic. No clue how massive these things are or how many are in a swarm but... They use a submarine to reload the cannon like a flicklock.
