Interesting theory, but sadly it doesn't make any sense. Ash's journey was around 1 1/3 or 1 1/2 years. At the beginning of Alola, he was eleven. So for 6 regions, it took him around a year. Think about the fact, that the regions are based on irl regions. To travel across them, it would take around 1-2 months with walking, sometimes a bus or something or train, with all the stops. So yeah, for us, it was over 20 years, for him? Only 1 1/2. At the final episode of the Anime with him, he and his mum talked about his dad. So he knows who his dad is. In... the first episodes he talked to Misty about his dad also.
And, by the way, the reason why "Ash didn't age" is not because of Nintendo's desicion at all.
