- In an otherwise obscure northern corner of Co Offaly, there’s a stretch of land that will be known for decades (perhaps centuries) to come, as Barack Obama country.
The main Irish figures at the centre of Barack and Michelle Obama’s 2011 trip to Moneygall were under no allusions about the realpolitik reasons behind the President’s decision to visit their village - just a year ahead of his run for re-election.
But, six years on, as Obama approaches the end of his second term in office, Henry Healy (the 8th cousin) and Ollie Hayes (the barman) still can’t quite get over the level of engagement they’ve had with the White House in the years since that historic day: jrnl.ie/3174006

I'm pretty sure he was invited back to the White House each year for St. Paddy's day.
At 2:02 you can see the invites he's gotten, to a St. Patrick's Day celebration at the White House (also at 3:31), and an invite to the (presumably) 2012 inauguration.
Meanwhile trump doesn't pay his taxes and is refusing to pay his lawyers because they couldn't win a single court case for him

When human respect amongst presidents were a thing regardless of party/policy differences. That's what Obama showed best.
