Dude even IF you finish college get a good job and all that, this truck is a KEEPER! Trust me these trucks last forever! I bought my 06 silverado with the 5.3, automatic 4wd with 120,000 miles back in 2010. Currently it has 240,000+ miles on it, original engine and transmission and it runs like a clock. My dad has a 2001 silverado with the 4.8l v8 and he put 390,000 miles before he had to swap the engine, now mind you he wasn’t doing the most perfectly timed maintenance on it and was/is towing a loaded trailer with it DAILY. These trucks are the best ALL AROUND trucks. Best of all, no car payments!
Yep its paid off! Only downside to the truck is the frame, I honestly plan on finding a blown up southern no rust truck and swapping the motor into it. Only 146k on this one. Probably gonna use it for parts when i get another one. I love the cateye generation, such low maintenece and not many major issues on them. I'd say the last solid generation of GM trucks.
@@w3lder4life85 I mean the 2006 that as much as like a 2003 but u can find a 2003 for pretty cheap I bet and u won’t need to worry about miles rlky ok these trucks at all
I have an 2005 crew cab , you should get you some mud tires and paint the whole front bumper to match the truck and I promise it will give it a meaner more aggressive look
That’s a beautiful truck! I have a 98 Ford F-150 XLT myself, and I’ve always seen fords get a bad press and be called junk, but that old truck has always been reliable and did everything I needed it to at the time and I’ve only had minor mechanical issues with it and almost none in the 20 years that it has been in my family
In my opinion from experience with friend's Fords of that era, the Triton isn't the most reliable motor. But as long as someone maintains it the 90's and early 2000's trucks from any of the big 3 are a solid choice. and thank you for watching! happy holidays.
@@PowerlineRider I guess it falls down to how you keep care of the vehicle, but that’s any car. The Tritons had their issues but would do as you needed
absolutely man i like my vehicles as basic as they can be, but i do have power locks and power windows which is nice. the jeep tj i just picked up is even more basic than my truck.
Not sure if you are still checking these comments, but I have a question. I have a 2007 Silverado Classic and need to redo the front bowtie/grill what did you do. How much did you pay for the truck?
