  • Scotch Eggs are eggs wrapped in fried meat.
    I just used simple ingredients at home.
    Crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside!!

    I think it's better to cover the egg with meat finely and fry for a very short time!
    * ingredients (4 scotch eggs)
    4 eggs(room temperature), 1Tbs vinegar, 1tsp salt
    200g ground pork(or sausage), chopped green onion
    1tsp cajun spice (or paprika, red pepper powder), pepper and salt
    flour, 1~2 eggs(lightly whisked), bread crumbs, oil to fry
    * please note,
    1. Put salt and vinegar when boiling the eggs to prevent from cracking.
    The eggs has to be at room temperature before boiling. It might crack if you use the eggs straight out of the fridge.
    Doesn't have to be halfway cooked! It's up to you.
    2. You may also add green onion, onion, carrots or any other veggies into the minced pork.
    But remember to chop the veggies and roast on a pan, then cool down before use.
    The frying time might differ depending on the amount of pork. (usually 4 to 5 minutes)
    3. Try not to squeeze too hard when you wrap the eggs with pork.
    If you find if difficult to do it with your hands, spread the meat on a plastic wrapper and place the eggs on it, then wrap up.

    일드 '잘먹었습니다'에 나온 스카치에그를 만들어 봤어요. 스카치에그는 계란에 고기를 감싸 튀긴 것을 말하는데요.
    드라마에 나온대로 만든 건 아니고, 그냥 집에 냉장고에 있는 재료로 만들어봤어요.
    겉은 바삭바삭하고, 속은 촉촉 부들부들한 맛이 나는 스카치 에그!! 굿굿! 굿굿!

    드라마에선 열전도율때문에, 고기를 타원형 모양으로 감싸야 고기를 튀겼을 때, 촉촉한 계란 반숙을 유지한다고 했는데
    그냥 고기를 얇게 감싸서 튀기는게 더 좋은 방법인 것 같아요! (드라마에 나온 스카치에그는 고기 양이 너무 많았음)

      음.... 반숙하는거랑 망치는거랑 무슨 상관이예요? 혹시 껍질 까다가 망치신다는건가요?
      다진고기에 야채 많이 넣었을 경우에 수분이 너무 많아서 잘 안뭉칠때는
      저분 레시피와는 다르지만 전분 좀 넣으시면 괜찮을 거예요

    These are PERFECT. I hate when I order a scotch egg and it comes without a runny center. I"ll send it back every time. The only thing you missed here was the temperature of that oil for frying them. 400? 350?

      The way it sizzled when she first put them in, I'd assume around ~275-300 any hotter it would burn it.

      There's a million ways to make them. You can mix anything in the mince and the breading is completely optional. You can either deep fry them like here or fry them in a pan, though deep frying is easier.
      When (deep)frying in oil, you can really only observe, but it takes around 4-5 minutes. Hot oil should never be left alone, though... ESPECIALLY if you cook on gas, as it can easily catch on fire. (keep the pot lid close by, NEVER try to extinguish with water)
      So, sense of time is not needed - only watching it closely is required.
      Protip: only make one per person and serve with a light salad on the side at most.... these bastards are really filling :)
      Protip 2: Get an egg timer (they're really cheap) or use the virtual assistant on your phone.

      For softboiled egg, frying time is usually 4-6 min until golden brown while hardboiled takes 7-10 min. But yea this video does not tell everything.

    Honestly, the biggest challenge that I can find in this video, is poaching those eggs so even after the deep frying, the yolk still turns out runny.
    Thank you for this video btw. I have everything I need to make this, I just feel like it will take many attempts before I can perfect it >_

      To be fair she is not poaching at all. The egg is protected from heat by the meat and bread. If anything she is baking the egg. I too was very impressed the yolk was runny and it look delicious. Nothing beats the taste of warm runny egg yolk.

      Dropping it right into ice water is the key. It stops the cooking process.

      @@g3ntl323 You were correct too about the meat protecting the egg from further cooking while the outside fries. I just meant that if you don't stop the cooking as soon as you take it from the boiling water, it will continue to harden the yolk. :)

      If you take out a thick steak from fridge and trying to pan fry it. Chances are it’s perfect outside but quite raw inside. Same with this, the pork plays as insulation to prevent egg to be cooked. I’m guess, you probably need 15 - 20min for heat of oil to reach the egg white completely.

      you have to be careful with cooking ground chicken though because it will tend to dry out really fast if you overcook it by the slightest and it might fall apart, so I would recommend ground beef since it would remain juicy and will hold its shape :)

    This looks sooo good. But vinegar in water does NOT keep eggs from cracking. It DOES help to quickly congeal leaking eggwhite if the shell does break. Use room temperature eggs for the best non-cracking results. You can also steam eggs instead of boiling; faster because the water does not need to come back to a boil! Use about an inch of water in the pot, bring to boil, cook eggs using "boiling" time to desired doneness.

    와..진짜 비주얼 장난 아니네요ㅠㅠ 꿀키님 최근에 찍으시는 카메라가 바뀌셔서 그런지는 몰라도 뭔가 더 사실감있게 느껴지는데요. 흐어어어..! 케쳡에 찍어먹으면 진짜 너무 황홀할듯ㅠㅠ 튀기지 않고 계란에 똑같이 고기옷 입혀서 찌면 왠지 다이어트 식사 대용으로도 먹을 수 있을 것 같아요!! 영상 잘 봤습니다:)
