Robert Jordan is often criticized for describing in detail the clothing his characters wear in excruciating detail. Maybe they should have read them and have clothes that don't look stupid.
Can I give this more than one like?? The dual commentary is an excellent way of driving home that the season doesn't work as an adaptation, AND that it doesn't even work on its own terms.
Not sure you can really call that a "dual commentary" when one person is talking for more than a hour and the other barely gets what amounts to what, 10 minutes of speaking time...? This review is far more oriented toward people who don't know anything about the books really.

Both of you are awesome! Just want to expand on how much Nynaeve conveniently tracking Moiraine because she had a "tell" drives me insane...From the very time Moiraine and Co. leave Emonds Field, she is either on horseback or being carried by another....so, unless she was dropping peanuts in their path to guide Nyneave... Arrrrgh!!! The writers for this show are _SO INCREDIBLY STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!_

I didn't even feel the time go by. I absolutely loved this format: the nicknames were clever, watching @bookborn trying to correct names and events... everything. The amount of things that had to come together for this to happen makes me feel privileged. Thank you both for this!!

2:13 weird as it may seem the hair is the only thing from the books. The female citizens of Two Rivers upon becoming women were able to braid their hair thus telling everyone she was a member of the women’s circle. A rite of passage from child to woman. It was a big thing to those folks.

One of Moraine's secret super talents from Aes Sedai school is being able to eavesdrop from far away. I think the first time she shows this ability is in the second book when she listens to Lan and Nynaeve when Lan gives her his gold ring of Malkieri kings. Your story is far more entertaining than the TV series. At least the first two episodes, which is as far as I made it before giving up.
I love the "don't give a s**t" vibe of the whole video. This lady is funny as hell! And the contrast with the other one "I care too much" geek one was hilarious!

This is the experience of every Bookfan who is trying to get his non-reading family interested in this TV show that is kinda sorta the books but not really the books and having to pause the episode every once in a while to say, "OK, now In the BOOKS...". Love this.
can't believe it took me so long to see this. this was absolutely hilarious and I definitely am going to be hearing your voice in my head as I watch the rest of S2. Can't wait to watch your S2 material now. Also loved seeing Bookborn pop in...I FEEL HER PAIN. I remember when I finished watch S1, I was so overwhelmed and depressed and realized I needed to watch an actual competent fantasy show...so re-watched episode 1 of GoT just for fun. seriously concerned that I'm going to be calling show-Rand "Hollister" from now on...
They repurposed "Perrin's ex-kinda-girlfriend-dancing-partner" from the book (yes, she's in the book, and she's exactly what I said) to be Not-Perrin's "wife whom he will kill maybe accidentally but it really did look like she was going to try to kill him first", thus robbing her future husband and children (in a later book) of her part in their parts of a not-insignificant moment in that later book... Reminding me once again why I'm convinced that nobody with creative control over the show ever read more than tumblr/reddit criticisms (by people who didn't read or didn't understand the material) and didn't understand what they were doing in the first place. They prove this multiple times because the changes have consequences that they then have to rectify, which they do so badly that the best thing that could have been done would have been to simply tell the story that was already there.
Ha ha, brillant as always. Liene you're recaps always make me smile. But Bookborn's slow decent into insanity and despair was just so on cue for my progression through the show as a book reader. At least we don't have long to wait until we find out what unspeakable horror that little girl did to deserve an entire nation coming to kill her.

Moiraine learned eavesdropping in Cairhien as a child, before becoming a novice. Very few Sisters know she can do it.
It's stated at the very end of the first book that she learned that skill before going to Tar Valon.
