- This Is What Max Defense In Elden Ring Looks Like
Elden Ring is a game known for its extreme difficulty and normally requires well timed dodges to avoid enemy attacks and kill the bosses. What If I told you there was a way to make it so that you didn't have to dodge at all! Today I am going to show you that with max defense you don't have to worry about that and can simply absorb all the hits and kill the boss with ease.
I was absolutely shocked when you said the goal is 1k subs. I just assumed with how good the video was you were well past that. Definitely deserved. Goodluck on the road to 1k bro I made sure to add to the count.
Makes me happy coming back to this comment and seeing our boy at almost 15k subs now
Thanks for the kind words and I’m glad you enjoyed!
Bro even warned us about the uh ohs
Good to see you’re up to 5k now, great video and definitely deserve more followers
@@ruaraidhmorrison5879 blud at 9k now
now let's get him 10k and on to 100
Tanking waterfowl dance made my jaw drop. Didn't even think it was possible
You can block it completely by using this build and a greatshield
@@acallbeyond432 bro you can block her waterfowl without the build just have and upgraded greatshield and walk back as she does teh waterfowl i use my normal build and caryy 1 greatshield when fighting malenia easy fight
Problem with tanking it is that she heals so damn much@acallbeyond432
I didn't think it was possible to butcher the simple pronunciation of O'Neil. I was wrong.
i got an ad for a big truck right before this video and i think that might be the most fitting pre video advert I've ever seen lmao
braggart's roar is a weapon buff, if u swap the weapon out, the effect will disappear. You can also dual wield weapons of same class with both braggart's roar for stacking buffs
Yeah I wasn’t clear on the interaction and how it worked until somebody else in the comments mentioned it, but I had no idea that you could dual wield and stack both buffs. That’s cool
Stack it?
Didnt know.
@@r30413makes sense bc each weapon has 1 slot to buff, and the Roar counts just for the weapon being wielded while you use the buff
Your video was really well done! Another interesting Wondrous Physick option that might make for a good video idea is the winged crystal tear. It allows for basically a super high equip load, meaning you can usually go from being encumbered to light rolling.
Interesting I haven’t heard of that. yeah I’ll check it out and thanks for watching!
@@bryceinator13 winged crystal tear carried my level 1 playthrough, it gave fast roll with full bull goat armor, no jar talisman, and using great stars. basically this build but less damage/hp, but fast roll in exchange for a physik tear. Also worth noting, its better to get millicent prosthesis talisman from killing her after godskin apostle by the windmill, and stacking with the weaker winged sword insignia since then you have 2 multi hit talismans that stack with each other.
Increases it by 300%@@bryceinator13
just randomly stumbled across your channel bro, great vid! keep up the good work my man, much love.
Love to hear that man thanks for watching.
a neat idea would be (incase you make that goof with milly) would be to use the swaddling cloth from the phantom godskins in the spirit caller cave. its heals on successives and i use it with a wild strikes bleed anchor.
Oh I’ve never heard of it. I agree that would be a great addition
I would recommend spacing harder into the hp regen. My current build does this. Blessed dew talisman, the crystal tear that hp regens(plus the defense boost tear of course), golden vow, black flame protect, either blessings boon or Erdtree spell for more regen, icon shield unequiped on your back for hp regen, then you can have the 1lb shield in you right hand to swap and cast holy ground. I forget how much hp regen a second, but combine that with the defense and you are in a great shape for a lot of the bosses. You just have to be able to hold your ground and trade your hits. Bloodhound step could be a big help though, since you would need to stay within the holy ground boundaries.
And of course, not viable for pvp.
All these people have such good taste. Very creative content! I'll be sticking around for sure
Glad to hear you like the video! Thanks for watching
Just an fyi, you could have medium rolled. 42 end allows for full bull goats armor without great stars, you could put great jars arsenal on and then you would medium roll. The reason you were heavy rolling was because you had the halberd on your softswap instead of hardswapping.
*drinks ironjar aromatic and start walking menacingly*. When you walks in, the enemy hears boss music
This video made me want to start a new elden ring safe file even though i didnt finish my current one. Great video man 😁
Creates build that can tank waterfowl, and somehow almost no hits Draconic tree sentinel
ok. the malenia bit was hysterical, and your editing is very nice. but imma be real. i subscribed for every time you healed for a smaller amount of damage, only for the boss to take it out of you immediately. i do that shit all the time lmao. best of luck on that goal!! ill be back!!
Nothing like a good ole panic heal lol thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed
4:51 can we just stop and take not of that clean slow roll 😂
for better hp recovery you can put prayerful strikes on the weapon
Oh that definitely would help. That with the rotten winged sword insignia would have made the build way better.
@@bryceinator13You could have got the regular Winged Sword Insignia instead along with the physic flask.
If you want to try this build but not do Millicent's entire quest, you can do it up to the point when you give her the Valkyrie's Prosthesis and then kill her at Windmill Village after defeating the Godskin Apostle there. If you do that she'll drop Millicent's Prosthesis, which gives you 5 DEX and a slightly weaker version of the Rotten Winged Sword's effect. It's also compatible with the regular Winged Sword, so you can get a bigger boost overall than with the Rotten Winged Sword.
This guy needs more subs
Facts
This comment didn’t age well 😂
love the video gonna adapt my tank build with this, keep up the hard work I'm sure you'll make it to 1k in no time brother!
Thanks man, I appreciate that! And yeah this build was a lot of fun hope you enjoy
Using the wall shield you get 100% damage negation
Nah, you gotta become the shield.
@@davidcardozo290I am become shield destroyer of damage
You should have gotten the icon shield from the grafted scion at the Chappell of anticipation it regenerates your health
Oh I haven’t heard of that. that would fit the build pretty well tho
nvm its in altus not chappell of anticipation
You had me giggling, especially at the great jar duelist fights. Keep it up man!
Great vid but I wish your webcam had not been blocking the view of the stats throughout the run.
Dude these videos are awesome, you just earned yourself a sub.
What Melania meant to say was- “Your defense, extraordinary…”
This setup + ritual shield and prayerful strike 👀👀👀👀
I did something similar to Malenia. Kept spamming the giant crusher hammer against her with a max def build and prayerful strike. It insta knocks her down every single hit.
Underrated TH-camr. You should get like 100k subs by the end of this year
This is the true way to play 😂 keep up the good vids!
"Just gonna roll in" That is precisely how to avoid getting damaged lol, clutch moment sir and fun build. I will have to try wild strikes for the first dragon that shows up in crumbling farum azula. I am on my first playthrough, just picking the game back up and absolutely swept through with the greatsword with lion's claw and my mimic tear. I have that bull goat set but I didn't wanna be fat rolling. But if you use that iron jar thing, it doesn't matter because you're slow anyway. So you might as well have the best armor.
Great video. I like how you didn't use a shield. Personally, I think shields are overrated against many bosses because you lose too much stamina. Your build did steady damage because you weren't using all your stamina on blocking. I haven't tried a max defense build, although I did try one with good armor and a colossal sword, which had about 50% physical. The main advantage is not getting one- or two-shot from bosses like Maliketh and Malenia. Since light rolling was improved you can be equally protected as heavy armor - you have half the protection and half the chance to be hit - but if you do get hit you're dead.
Yeah for this build I wanted to see how high I could get the damage negation without using a shield since a shield could easily get me to 100%
This is the epitome of "I'm just going to punch air, and if you get hit, it's your own fault" 😂
Insane build and also insane that no matter how much negation you have, mid to end game bosses can still devastate you
This is the most fun build ive ever seen in Elden Ring!!! Very nicely done!!!
seeing you TANK the waterfowl was incredible.
Yeah it’s crazy what you can do when you stack a bunch of the buffs in elden ring. Definitely a lot of fun
I watched the whole video, and great job on this build. I will use some of those tips on my character.
I feel like if you found a way to combine Prayerful Strike into this, you'd really be unstoppable.
1:06
"The invader gave me a bit of trouble"
*But you're the invader.*
Oh wait you totally got me there I didn’t even think of that lol
I bet that someone esle has pointed that out already, but you can get Milicent's hand talisman if you start her quest then kill her in altus plateau on the windmill village. it's not as good as the rotten winged sword insignia, but also boosts consecutive attacks and raises dex
"We haven't killed any bosses" As he just killed Magma Wyrm Makar to be able to fight Tragoth.
You can block with the great stars at longer range
This "the wall" build is far more entertaining than the one that weilds double fingerprint shield. You're not holding the wall. You ARE the wall
Bro how are you so underrated this had me hooked
Holy shit this is fuckin hilarious seeing you just tank all these hits just swinging around. Great vid man, I really wanna try this build now
Yeah this build is super fun definitely try it out
Lorewise, it really drives home just how strong the bosses you takes these sets from really are because you can barely move in them whereas they can jump around like they're on the moon.
Maliketh was such a stylistic nightmare
1:15 I’ve been looking for that invader…so that’s where he was 😂
Malenia will allways be Malenia... SUFFERING
Nice vid dude, keep going !
Subbed. Amazing video bro!
Thank you for watching!
Subbed, good job on the video
Thank you and thanks for watching!
if you power stance with braggart's rawr on both weapons you get double the effects: "Applying Braggart's Roar to two separate weapons does stack the damage negation and stamina regen. However, when a weapon is sheathed the buff will disappear on that weapon."
This build makes this game feel like turn based rpg😱
Good luck on your channel! Definitely felt like watching an established youtuber until I looked at the subs. Keep going man!
I appreciate that and thanks for watching!
Just subscribed ur content is addictive and so fun to watch . U deserve more attention ill be following and liking ur videos
I’m glad you’re enjoying the content and welcome!
With your wild strikes you should use the strong follow up attack with your last sliver of stamina. It usually staggers and give the extra boost to one phase sometimes.
How nice of Melina to let us borrow her Mustang
Also I'm pretty sure you can get the wing ignia emblem (regular reduced bonus version) in Liurnia of the Lakes which would be a good substitute until the Rotten wing insignia
You seem like a really great content creator, very well made video. Im subbed 👌
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and again, thanks for the kind words
The ultimate test would be fighting The Fallingstar beast in the crystal mine.
How is bro not at 1k. This is some quality content!
I appreciate that bro and thanks for watching!
This is what every journalists want to play the game
My first playthrough, i found out that the mimic tear could use the ironjar perfume too, so when i met melania she had 2 walking walls slapping the hell outta her lol
Fun fact: In medieval times, people in full plate armor were sneaking up on people all the time
who would win ?
- demi gods, giants, magicians, legendary warriors and insanely powerful monsters
-one tanky boi with spiky stick
I was hoping that you wouldn't' have to dodge at all for the entire game. Tanking through waterfowl while not even getting staggered out of wild strikes was definitely the highlight. I'm wondering if Spinning Strikes on a halberd would be a little better due to the halberd's range? Would've been cool to see stacking health regeneration buffs like celestial dew, erdtree blessing, etc. although it seemed like the big time damage attacks by the late game bosses would still overpower the HP regen at max defense. They're doing combos with 3-4 strikes that are doing like 500-800 damage per hit.
Lionel's set works slightly better than Bullgoat against Malenia, due to having higher Slash resistance. Both have very similar stats.
You could've incorporated the Bullgoat Talisman into your build at some point, no?
He has too much poise for it to even do anything afaik. Unless he's under 101 poise there's no point tbh. And even then it's not worth the slot imo. Bullgoat talisman should only be used for hitting break points in poise. Just to get biggest number possible isn't that helpful
Great fun vid. Maybe a little bit more map references so we can easily follow along if we want to duplicate your build? TH-cam's doing such a good job of recommending new channels on topics I'm into. Insta-subbed!
Great video man! Keep up the awesome job! I will check out your other videos
Thanks man glad to hear it! Thanks for watching
wow, i love your def-run! amazing!
new sub bro
epic vid dont give up on content creation!
I appreciate that man thanks for watching!
This should have a lot more views lol this was great
Imagine having the talisman from dlc that boost additional def based from load you are on
*Kid Rock's "Bullgod" plays in the background* lmao.
You need to read about how buffs stack. There's different tyoes of buffs (aura, body, etc) and you can only have one if each. Eating an exalted flesh (a body buff) cancels out your aromatic. Or taking an aromatic cancels your flesh. Fun build though. Even unoptimized it still kicked major ass. Just shows how much potential it has. Glad i came across your video. Watched a few and they're really good.
that maliketh fight always takes a few tries to get used to the attack patterns ngl but good run bro you've earnt my sub
You can kill the rot girl for the talisman before the quest but you have to progress to where she is in the crazy lady village
Great video. I played elden ring but never used any perfumes yet. I now see i've been missing out on a lot of potential. Ironjar Aromatic is insane.
Beating ER the way Miyazaki intended:
Exactly the build I need, thank you pal
You can also use the blodflame blade incantation to buff up the bleed build and overall damage (not so sure though)
And, great vid man. I was shocked when i saw how many subscribers you have at the moment, you definetly deserve more.
Yeah this build didn’t have any buffs from the weapon category so you may be right. Although with certain weapons I have been unable to put greases/inactions/ any kind of weapon buff on them and I’m not sure if the great stars functions like that.
@@bryceinator13I’m pretty sure you can’t weapon buff somber weapons so great stars is probably fine
If youre locked out of millicents talisman, grab winged sword talisman as a backup, same effect, smaller percentage
Oh sweet I didn’t know about that good call
@@bryceinator13 ain't no thing, this looks kinda fun so I wanted to follow along on a new dude, figured anyone else who messes up/doesn't want to wait till haligtree should know about it :)
@@bryceinator13 also I feel like godskin swaddling cloth could add some real value here lol
You would have done way better had you not relied so much on wild strikes, but besides that, well done. Gold ⭐
If you accidentally kill an npc you can use celestial dews at the church where the giant turtle pope is and they’ll come back to life. Ik it doesn’t work on some but ik it works on sellen and varre
Radagon and Elden beast could have been easier in the tree sentinel armor, with the haligdrake talisman +2 and the pearldrake talisman +2 but not completely necessary. I wore all of that and used the Ant Spur Rapier +25 with bleed affinity, which I didn't know was not a great choice for the boss due to high resistance to scarlet rot and immunity to bleed, but it didn't matter anyway. The amount of physical damage he does is not as high as his holy damage, but the tree sentinel armor has a lot of physical damage reduction as well as holy, so it was the perfect armor for this fight. I changed nothing about my setup for elden beast. Easy 1 shot and I'm pretty bad at souls games.
If you know how to make a proper build you're not bad.
I really feel like this is a good showcase for why it's better to stay a bit lighter and learn when to roll during attacks.
Also, I made a pretty tanky build but threw on the Godskin Stitcher with an Eclipse Shield and was able to poke Malenia to death pretty easily. Turns out nearly everything she does can just be blocked so if you just counter-poke her during her attacks you can whittle her down without too much of an issue.
Bryce on the grind !
Easily my favourite way of playing - smashed the DLC like this
You got yourself another subscriber cheers mate❤
Thank you and thanks for watching!
If you swaped out one of your talismans the haligdrake talisman, you would've been able to tank more damage on maliketh since he does both physical and holy damage
Just a fyi when you use braggarts roar with your left-hand weapon you can't two hand your right-hand weapon because you will lose the buff. You have to keep the weapon out that applied the buff.
Oh damn so it’s like the jellyfish shield. Thanks for the heads up!
yea but thankfully you can still use your right hand ash of war unlike how the jellyfish shield wont let you.@@bryceinator13
When you have almost as many likes as subs. Incredible content!!
This is honestly awesome to see, especially with them screwing with poise and removing armor upgrades altogether.
Too bad you have to do so many specific things and rely on potions so heavily to have such a cool defense build.
I miss the DS1 days.. 😢 I wish they had done a proper remaster for it like Demon Souls got.
This guys defo gonna blow up
For the final boss there are incantations that make your holy damage negation go brr but you didn’t really need them
Would have been a solid replacement for iron jar aromatic though since I didn’t even use it for this fight because of how mobile the elden beast is
When i started my first run i didnt take Vigor. I died and died and DIED. I wanted to do as much damage as possible. And then someone said, "you cant do damage when you are dead."
So i raised my Vigor and man did it make the game more enjoyable. And i was still able to do a good amount of damage.
But then i started playing DS3 and didnt raise my HP and then I remembered my issue with Elden Ring😂😂
Ill never learn
Fromsoft has a very good weapon upgrade/damage system that allows you to put the first 30 or 40 levels into health before you even need to think about leveling damage stats.
Rule#1: HEATH is your new damage stat until you can't be one tapped.
what would make this better is if you used blasphemous blade so you'd heal everytime you used the ash of war
Might be a little to much Stat investment using wild strikes you get the 1% heal per hit with great stars so it's good too
So tanky, excellent video! If you add some faith, arcane, and mind to your build, you can use Grayoll's Roar, it reduces damage of enemies by 15% and their defense by 10%. And with Golden Vow you gain more defense and damage. I find it best to go with minimum stats required for weapon/spells. Then pump Vigor and mind to 60 and 40, respectively. Then endurance to whatever level you want to max out at... You can use Winged tear to give yourself the equip load for heavy armor.
Yeah this build can definitely still be improved and once you get it to rune level 150 you can get the extra faith mind and vigor to make it a true elden ring boss
"BUILD IS OP AS FUCK"
"Oh Death, become my blade once more"
"Oh shit"
*Regrets whole playthrough*
Back in my day (ds1) you could just fully upgrade Giants armor set and be the biggest tank ever. This was still cool though
Dude you should have done prayerful strike. I did that build with great stars and the dung armor, it was the ultimate
life-steal heavy build.
I’m currently piecing together a max life-steal type of build so prayerful strike could be huge for that. What else did you use for your Lifesteal build?
@@bryceinator13 There really aren’t many options concerning lifesteal. Of course, you could switch the build to blasphemous blade, etc., but I found that with the amount of stuns you could get with the great stars and prayerful strike was really good. I recommend trying to get as much poise damage as possible for tons of stuns. You could also have blasphemous blade in your inventory with it and switch between the two if you’re ranged or up close
Amazing! Well done
the mad pumpkin head (or whatever itscalled) i mean the thing on the saintsbridge helmet has the best defense in game
How does this dude not have 1m subs, this guy is underrated asf
Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoyed the video!
