I can generate whole scenes in 3d in my head, move them around within the space and even make it look like blueprints. That's one of the reasons why I love reading so much, when I really get into the story it's better than watching a movie.
I really like these AI crochet videos because it's cool to see how the bot aggregates its knowledge into the output -- all that access to all the public patterns and descriptions on the internet and it still turns out like a charming little kid's drawing of what you described :) ofc it's a real issue that potential clients and consumers are turning to ai for freelance art products but at the very least it's kind of good to see that the crochet language is only possible with direct translation -- if you want to put an idea into crochet language (especially crochet that depicts something else from life), you have to do it step-by-step, and if you're feeding all those detailed steps to an ai bot you might as well just do the direct translation (pattern-writing) yourself ! I don't know a ton about how it works but I can't picture how ai could be improved to overcome that "issue" :3c thanks for sharing ! I love the llama korok too ~
It's kind of similar for software development, which is what my husband does. The AI will generate code, but sometimes it legitimately hallucinates and tries to convince you of something that is not real. In both cases, having the underlying foundational skills to translate the output into something usable is crucial. I think the only thing that could "improve" this is for AI models to be trained specifically on crochet patterns, or code, or whatever specific thing it is going to output. But, of course, I'm very happy with it only giving me little kid drawing versions of what I ask it. It's all about the laughs for me.
i’m a new subscriber and a new crocheter and i absolutely love these videos lmao they are so funny and unique and i’d love to see more of this type of content in the future! your vibes are immensely incredible and i can’t wait to check out more content! 🫶🏻❤️
Thank you so much, and good luck on your crochet journey! I hadn't crocheted anything in several years but am fully hooked again (heh). I'd love to hear about your projects!
You had me at ‘colors, letters, numbers’. All my life every letter and number has a color and also a gender. Since I deal with numbers in my job I’ve had to teach my brain NOT to see the colors and male/female gender in all the numbers. I also see calendars weird too but in my brain it seems normal. I love fiber arts and have a large loom and I love to crochet. Your channel is great.
So interesting! Do you find it irritating when something doesn't match the color as it is in your head? I get irked when I hear the names Darby or Marcy because they're just slightly off to me. I imagine that it would be something similar.
Yahaha! Very cool video. I think the llama korok pattern has potential to be a very cute llama finger puppet. Also I don't have synestesia, but sometimes food tastes a certain shape to me(round, sharp, flat). Dunno if that's because I have heard food described in those terms or just a way I experience food.
Oh, yes! That would be a cute finger puppet. Interesting about your food perception. My husband is very good at identifying different notes and characteristics of food. Me, not so much.
Imagine you write out the years in a flat grid and the year I was born when I think of it I’m looking down at my feet to it, grandmother was born 1899 so I look behind me and for some reason the 1990s I’m standing at 1999 and looking down to the left…inside my head, that is😵💫🤓
Hi! I am a synesthete crocheter 😊and I have colors for basically everything: letters, numbers, sounds, people, names... and also patterns for days, months, years. And btw, I'm kind of obsessed by AI and videogames too. I've also tried to generate amigurumi patterns with AI, but just reading the result made me laugh, so I didn't try to make them. I guess I still have a little future as a crochet designer 😂
Oh, absolutely, your future looks bright lol. I try not to look at the whole pattern as I work on these because it's so hard not to immediately picture how it's going to turn out. Do you find that your synestesia plays a role in your crochet?
I wouldn't say my syn plays an essential role in the way I design my amigurumis, but definitely in the way I name them. Once finished, they are like people: their personality has a color. So I give them a name which color matches their "personality color". It also helps me remember which row I was working on the day before. You know "was it the row of 48 sc or 54 sc? 🤔 Hmmmm, it was a dark blue number, must be 48" 🤣
Holy hell this video is ticking all of my boxes!!! I looked for LoZ crochet patterns on youtube but nothing caught my interest 🥲 The Link one was...,,..an interesting choice by the AI..... Where are you in the game?
Oh, my poor Frankenstein Link. I've defeated two of the "regional phenomena," but I'm slowing down to enjoy some side quests now. I realize things would go a lot smoother for me in the boss battles if I took my time.
I have aphantasia, so I see nothing in my head. No visual image. My thoughts are mostly in words and sometimes I feel how something looks. I know that sounds kinda wierd but it is the best description I can give
Thank you for your description! I find it fascinating. I'm a /very/ visual thinker, so it's impossible for me to imagine, but that's what makes it so interesting to me.
Not only do I not see colours associated with words or numbers, I have aphantasia and have no internal visuals at all. I know what I'm thinking of but I don't see it, like if you disconnected the monitor from your computer the programming is still running but there's no visual output.
I have a 4 color changer, but a piece is broken on the 4th one, so I effectively have 3. I haven't tried asking AI for a pattern for it, but that's a great idea for another video. Thank you!

Oh my gosh, he IS a funky cactus

I am literally LOLing thank you!
Video idea!! Do this again but enter the same description into both AI tools to see how they are different in the end!

with the synesthesia thing, neither my husband or I have synesthesia, but my husband says Frank Sinatra sounds like a color. Like a red-orange!
Not Sinatra, but my husband says that some male voices sound like Dr. Pepper. He says that maybe Sinatra sounds like a Coke 😆
Can you try an AI generated pattern for your Passap Duo80? Do you have a 2 or 4 color changer? I have had no success with AI generated patterns.

I'm wondering if you ask for a pattern for an skilled or advanced crocheter? If that would give more complex patterns.
Oooh! Great suggestion. I'll try that next!
