Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it th-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.
Any day fishing is a day well spent. I love making new dishes with fish, especially those I bring back from the Gulf. My favorite boats in PCB were destroyed in a previous hurricane (before Ian) so now it's a search to find large head boats I can charter for overnight trips for our group of 28-30.

You should make up some lead free alternatives and use Bismuth as an alternative? Not sure if the Bismuth would be too soft or brittle but can have some funky rainbow colours when heated or cooled down etc.

In a situation like that, you had the perfect baitfish all around and the wahoo around, should always have 2 or 3 out there on stingers, amazing live bait opportunity to catch wahoo!!! That one that got bit in half was surgical, that was a wahoo!
Last july I caught a snapper with a slidding teardrop weight sitting on a bare hook just sitting over the side of the boat off cudjoe key. PS: you know you can get prizmatic tape right?
