Florals hold no fear for me. I was discovered in the garden at age two stuffing fuscia flowers up my nose, so it appears the signs were there. Radical Rose is truly excellent.

This was recommended to me while I was in Milan at 50 ML. I told the salesman how much I love Portrait of a Lady and he pulled this off the shelf for me. GORGEOUS. I was blown away. And I feel strongly that floral fragrances compliment masculinity in an extremely bold and confident way. Thanks for the great video, as always!

I find that in a formal setting a beautiful rose fragrance is my best companion, more than a heavy wood or leather fragrance and definitely better than an aromatic fragrance (because that's what everyone else is wearing)....the rose fragrance always makes me stand out❤️

I love rose fragrances and have many but this is the best of all of them, compliments given all the time

hey Marcelo. really enjoyed watching this as I smelt it for the first time today after sampling. what you said resonate alot with me - the honey especially is quite noticeable after hearing you mention it. I nearly always buy fragrances second hand - it’s the only way I can afford it being 22 years old. there is a bottle of Radical Rose available (only tested) for 130€. I’m considering it. I recently bought a bottle of Rose & Cuir by Frederic Malle, and I also sampled Portrait of a Lady. they are also absolutely beautiful rose fragrances. love them to bits!
I have Santal Austral and I finally got to test all the others when I was in New York. Definitely going to get Radical Rose next 🙌🏽

i just sampled this. your review is spot on. im here smelling it as you are talking. this perfume is extremely impressive. i highly recommend sampling. ive been testing a lot of rose fragrances. this and signature rose are my favorites so far, lyric man too but lyric man is a different vibe.

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector thank you, yes.... Loumari Almeria, another stunner from them.. I was going to visit the Initio boutique on the day Paragon was launched, but my wife took ill, and we were due to head back to the U.K later that day, so I cancelled that idea.
Love rose fragrances. First time I wore Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady was challenging but amazing. A lot of Peter Montale fragrances have rose along with the mountains of oud. Moschino ToyBoy is another great designer rose frag that my sons both wear. Some of the newer ELDO frags have an amazing rose note as well.
Montale has neither oud nor rose, if were talking the real thing, lol
Radical rose is a perfectly balanced magical elixir, I actually own a couple more rose based fragrances. It's a beautiful note .
I didn't appreciate much oud satin mode but I adored this one alongside rose Omayyade and Portrait of a lady.
Andy Tauer also has a beautiful rose fragrance Rose Kandahar.

I love rose as a note in fragrances. Radical Rose is my favorite rose scent of all time. I also love Portrait of a Lady, Atomic Rose as well as several rose/ouds - but Radical Rose is my favorite by far.
I would have to agree with you Ben. For me the stand out winner in that lineup is Radical Rose🌹♥️

The painting was called The Roses of Helogaballus, which was the roman emperor in the early 3th century. He was not Nero by a longshot, but he was also anything but normal, so credit for that. It scrached my brain that part.
I agree - rose fragrances can be genderless. I was saying the exact same thing to the Sales Associate when I got my bottle of Radical Rose from Selfridges. I was encouraging him to try wearing it, and also Portrait of a Lady. Those two are my favourites with rose as the main note, though I’m still searching for my “perfect rose” - I’ll know it when I smell it. 🌹 Other honourable mentions in my collection for everyday wear: Ostens Rose Impression, Isnard Longo Mai and ADP Rose Nobile

I really like this fragrance, inc the mission of the house.
I'm a newbie in fragrances but wanted to buy myself a rose fragrance to mark a personal milestone and this one was up there. I'm also in Melbourne and went to all the indie perfumeries trying out scents and speaking to the staff (they were all great but special shoutout to Lore!). I ended up going with Memo French Leather as I can see myself wearing it more, but I was captivated by the purity of Radical Rose!
What a great house, all are amazing. Still awaiting my Encens Suave, on back order unfortunately. Also have a sample of this one along with it. Cant wait.

Radical Rose is amazing and totally unisex in my opinion. It's mysterious and romantic at the same time. I'm still debating myself which one should I get a full bottle, Encens Suave or Radical Rose. I love them both but still hope that this house create an Iris focused scent (which is my favorite).
In these tough situation Dylan I always opt for…getting them both😬
But in all seriousness, I would actually get Radical Rose first.
I find that it’s a lot more versatile. Plays well in winter or summer. Whereas for me I prefer to wear Encens suave in the cooler weather.

I am a new challenger in the "niche fragrance world"... 😅 i started 3 months ago and collected a dozen of EDP, EDT & Parfums until this day (yesterday i blind bought FM's "Dans tes bras") but i have one thing to say to you : my first blind buy was the underrated, best rated on Fragrantica and beautiful Iris scent "Ermenegildo Zegna FLORENTINE IRIS" ! 😎
Give it a try, i really think you could love it as an iris lover ! 😊👍
PS : I also tried all the Matière Première line... i own BOIS D'ÉBÈNE (😍) and offered NEROLI ORANGER to my wife !

Late in my fragrance journey, I wanted to try rose based fragrances and I purchased a 5ml decant of Portrait of a Lady. Well, that didn’t work out. POL was not for me, it was very rosy and it was something that I couldn’t wear. Very recently, I purchased Initio’s initiation coffret that includes the following fragrances below..Yep! a rose fragrance is included in here. I guess I’m supposed to keep trying until I find one that I really like. Great video, Marcelo 👊🏽

I have tried Radical Rose, and it's so strange. I like it, but I see that it's difficult to use, maybe only use when joining a party (ex: wedding party). I think I just need a small bottle to use, not fullsize. I like to use everywhere (like Rose of no man's land of Byredo).

I just got a sample of mason crivelli rose centifolia and well I hate it so much had to scrub it off real fast and got in the shower BUT I do own lyric man from amouge I love it so I guess it depends I like rose and hate rose as well depend on thr blend .
Yep, I agree with your comments here David. Being that you're familiar with the Rose note via Lyric Man, I would really recommend Radical Rose to you (nothing like Rose Centifolia...but also not like Lyric Man either)....I would be curious to know your thoughts once you get a chance to test.

These are the questions that I love!!😇
I haven't tested or smelt a number of the fragrances that you mention here, but on the ones that I am familiar, these are my thoughts:
- Portrait of a Lady: awesome fragrance, and I think one of the first 'rose' fragrance that crossed over to a masculine territory and gained notoriety for this. I like this one, but I my choice in this 'classic rose' composition would be Radical Rose
- Radical Rose: as you saw in this review, this would be my pick for that clean, nuanced and complex rose profile....I love this one and feel that this is a must for everyone.
- Oud Satin Mood: this is now 'rose' as a player in a grander story. Both Oud and Vanilla play equal parts in this composition and the 3 together create 'Pure Magic' However this isn't a 'rose' fragrance to my mind, it's a balance between all those other notes too

The 4 that I would recommend you check out is Parisian Musc, Radical Rose, Santal Austral, and Encens Suave… I have these four on constant rotation. Maybe one of these will work for you

Back when I smelled L'Homme a la Rose from MFK I wanted to get that one as a rose fragrance, but I'm happy I didn't,
because this one is even better.
I'm surprised that the Matiere Premiere fragrances have such a strong projection and are long-lasting, at first I believed that if it has more concentration, like an extrait, that it would project more and last longer, but that was proven false by Aurelien. Maybe because of the overdose of the Rose or Sandalwood in Santal Austral, I'm interested in what you think.
And are the Matiere Premiere fragrances also good for layering? Like the Perris Monte Carlo fragrances (which I have yet to try) that also have one central ingredient.
I really feel that this fragrance is the crowning glory of the House (even though Santal, Encene and Bois are equally amazing)....but I feel that this one is Aurelian's favourite child (even though a parent should never claim to have one 😬)
As a rose perfume it's exceptional and really feel that this is a minimum in everyones perfume cabinet. How does he create that projection power? I have no idea Sem; but like you I'm impressed at the longevity, sillage and projection from this fragrance. It's present but not exaggerated and overbearing....always love wearing this perfume.
One day I hope to interview Aurelian and I will ask him how is he doing this, because the formula is simple (even by his own words, he mentioned that he wants to keep the formula simple) but yet they're so wonderfully complex.
Funny your question about layering. For some reason I wouldn't layer the Matiere Premiere. Even though the principle is the same as Perris Monte Carlo, I feel that these are more designed to be an 'expression' of the note, unlike the Perris fragrance where it's the multiple facets of the note....or maybe I just haven't tried, hence why I feel this way?? I'd be curious to know what you think and if you've layered these?

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector An interview with Aurelian would be great! I also feel like this is the favorite child, and it would be weird if it wasn't, if you imagine the effort put into the organic Rose farm. French Flower is also gorgeous but I find it more female leaning.
